SUMMARY:

QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES:
- University or college diploma in civil engineering or industrial design or relevant experience;
- Very good knowledge of computer systems and drawing software, such as SolidWorks / AutoCAD / Corel / Excel or other;
- Ability to communicate in both French and English, writing and verbally in a professional and precise manner;
- Ability to adapt to progress, deal with challenges and find solutions for projects;
- Be versatile and the ability to work in a team environment;
- Excellent ability to read plans / measurements / structures;
- Sense of organization, observation, initiative, and autonomy;
- Have on hand all the documents necessary to work legally in Canada;
We prefer someone with social skills as they will be communicating with their co-workers. Autonomous, adaptability, accuracy, resourcefulness, leadership, and knowledge of the signage industry would be an asset to the candidate.

+ You are familiar with the NDT inspection methodologies of composite materials, assemblies, aircraft structures, aerospace terminology and technical drawings.
+ You know how to conduct NDT technical audits in-line with your field of expertise.
+ You have shown strong leadership, problem solving, project and time/priority management skills in your past assignments and require minimum supervision.
+ You accept to travel occasionally on a last-minute notice.

We are currently seeking an **Engineering/Technical Student** to join one of the most exciting project currently underway specifically in **Yellowknife, Northwest Territories.** The successful candidates will be exposed to many practical construction functions during their work term. We are looking for students available for **4, 8 or 12-month** terms starting in **January 2026** .
Here's how a(n) Engineering/Technical Student for our Edmonton Buildings office contributes to our team:
**Responsibilities**
+ Report deficiencies by going on various site visits
+ Monitor and coordinate trade scopes of work
+ Coordinate and update field drawings, specifications, and project schedules
+ Participate in project meetings and get a chance to be part of something bigger by working closely with seasoned project professionals
+ Conduct trade contractor quote reviews
+ Get to visit some of our impressive projects and job sites while taking progress photos and monitoring deficiency logs knowing that you helped build that
+ Be responsible for performing bid day assignments and overall bid document control. Everyone at PCL takes ownership and that includes students.
+ Assistance with on-site problem solving
**Qualifications**
+ Candidates must have a strong desire to work in a construction environment and prior field construction experience will be considered an asset.
+ Application of various computer software programs will be required, including word processing, spreadsheet applications and drafting.
+ Knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD, and Sketchup will be considered an asset.
+ Access to a clean, reliable vehicle
