The Role
Working with the Manager, Project Engineering, this position is primarily responsible for reviewing and stamping Heat tracing deliverables and provide professional technical services, and support to Thermon customers.
NOTE: This is a contract position for a period of 1 year and has a potential for an extension. Contractors are encouraged to apply.
What You Will Do
- Responsible for the review of all project specifications and documentation necessary to develop a thorough understanding of the scope of work.
- Responsible for developing the Project Design Criteria (if applicable)
- Responsible for communicating project requirements to the team members, along with expectations on quality, schedule or other restrictions of technical nature
- Responsible to ensure that all team members follow established process and procedure including Thermon Design guide, Project Execution Guide, Quality Plan and take corrective actions where deficiencies occur
- Responsible to lead all technical aspects of the project, including but not limited to project set-up, choice of technical tools to be used in the project, identifying the roles of the team members, appropriately allocating work within the team.
- Responsible for identifying and evaluating scope creep in the project and communicating it to the Project Manager.
- Responsible for maintaining the Project Design folder structure
- Provides input in the development of Global and Regional tools and procedures as required
- Responsible for reviewing all the engineering deliverables for quality assurance and applying professional engineering stamps on approved documents.
Knowledge & Qualifications
- 2-6 years experience in manufacturing industry
- Has Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical engineering
- Proficiency in Primavera or MS Project is required.
- Experience in working with Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook Excel

The Role
Working with the Project Manager in the Engineering Department, this position is primarily responsible for preparing heat tracing isometrics, panel board schedules, cable schedules, instrument schedules, writing diagrams, BMOs, and location plans, using AutoCAD.

What You Will Do
- Prepare heat tracing isometrics, panel board schedules, cable schedules, instrument schedules, wiring diagrams, BOMs, and location plans, using AutoCAD and MicroStation as required.
- Responsible to design heat tracing systems in accordance with customer specifications to successfully ensure customer satisfaction and profitability.
- Responsible for the review of all project specifications and documentation necessary to develop a thorough understanding of the scope of work.

The Role
Project Manager is accountable for the P&L of the project(s). He also responsible for thoroughly understanding the contractual obligations and managing the project accordingly by working with all of the stakeholders of the project.

The Centre for Advanced Technologies (CAT) is a centre for applied innovation, resulting from a partnership between the Université de Sherbrooke (UdS) and BRP. It plays a central role in the research and development of state-of-the-art transportation and mobility technologies, working alongside world-class industry partners. Electrification is one of the strategic pillars of the CAT, with sustained growth through structuring public and private projects.
We are looking for a Head of Engineering - Electrification to join our CAT team. As the Head of Engineering - Electrification, you will be responsible for overseeing all activities related to transport electrification at the CAT. You will ensure strategic, technical, and organizational leadership over a portfolio of major projects, including a research chair, projects with BRP, and both private and public programs (e.g. the Canadian Space Agency (CSA), MDA Space.
This position requires travel between the CAT (Sherbrooke) and EV team offices (Valcourt), which will allow you to act as a catalyst between internal teams, Sherbroooke University researchers, and industrial and institutional partners.
YOU’LL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO:
Strategic Leadership
Define, structure, and champion the electrification vision of the CAT in alignment with BRP's goals and market opportunities.
Consider promoting the CAT's position as a leader in electrification to industrial partners, funders, and the public sector.
Represent the CAT in key forums and develop sustainable partnerships.
Program and Project Management
Ensure the alignment of the BRP Electrification Chair, in collaboration with the Université de Sherbrooke, its lead professor, and BRP.
This encompasses the role of coordinating university projects with professors, industrial partners, and BRP.
Supervision of project coordinator(s) (at an academic level).
Participate in the university project steering committee: alignment, expected outcomes, timelines, budget, student recruitment strategy for master’s, doctoral, and post-doctoral students in collaboration with senior professors.
Coordinate private R&D projects, including:
Aerospace projects with the Canadian Space Agency (CSA), MDA Space, etc.
Internal Projects with BRP.
Financial and operational management

Ensure the effective management of human and technical resources and project timelines.
Maintain a balance between academic rigour and industrial agility.
Actively engage within the CTA management committee.

In-depth knowledge of BRP's electrification technologies.
A well-established network within BRP's electrification team.

Proficiency in business development activities and external representation.
A university degree in engineering (bachelor's or master's).
At least 10 years of experience in managing projects with high technical content in multidisciplinary environments.

Mastery of budget concepts, forecasting, and profit/loss management.

Your Role
I am currently recruiting for one of my clients, a manufacturing company specializing in lifting systems, located in Boisbriand. They are looking for an Engineering Project Manager for a permanent position (40 hours/week), with 50% remote work and flexible hours.
Reporting to the Engineering Director, your responsibilities will include:
-Full management of engineering projects, from design to delivery
-Analyzing client needs and developing tailored technical solutions
-Designing and validating lifting systems for infrastructure
-Coordinating with various internal and external stakeholders (production, clients, suppliers, subcontractors)
-Monitoring project costs, timelines, and quality
-Writing technical documentation and progress reports
-Participating in equipment testing and validation before delivery
-Other related tasks as required by the role
Your Skills
Project management and coordination of technical teams
Strong communication skills and ability to work under pressure
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to handle inquiries from clients and management
Your Profile
University degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or a relevant Engineering discipline
OIQ membership is an asset
Minimum 5 years of experience in engineering project management
Experience in the manufacturing or industrial sector, ideally in hydropower or lifting systems
Proficiency in project management tools
Bilingual (English/French)
The use of English is required for this role due to:
* Communication with North American clients: Some of our clients are based abroad, requiring frequent written and verbal exchanges in English.
* Collaboration with English-speaking partners: You will work with suppliers and partners in English for order tracking and contract management.
* Writing documents in English: You will be responsible for drafting reports, proposals, and contracts for international clients.

About the opportunity:
Located out of our Belleville, Ontario plant, the Project Manager is responsible for the planning, execution and finalizing of projects according to strict deadlines, within budget, and with credible technical solutions. This includes acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of the team members and third-party contractors/consultants in order to deliver project goals.
The attributes we are looking for:
- Define project scope, targets and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders. Communicate project expectations/status to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
- Proactively manage changes within the project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans.
- Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise project team members and contractors, and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.
- Ensure all work performed by or on behalf of the company complies with company project management procedures and with all governing practices, codes and regulations.
- Promote excellence in all activities, including the functional groups, to support safe operation, optimal quality, improved reliability and productivity, waste reduction and cost improvement.
- Maintain awareness of new technologies as they relate to efficiency improvements, cost reductions, and workplace safety and product quality enhancements.
What you will bring:
- B.Sc. in Engineering (preferably Mechanical Engineering)
- Five or more years’ experience in Engineering within world class company
- Experience within processes, such as CIP systems, pasteurization systems, sterilizers
- Strong analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills
- Financial and budgetary skills
- Knowledge of food industry, maintenance instrumentation, PLC and Scada controls
- Good communication, listening, and presenting skills
- Ability to adapt to changing culture/environments
- Ability to negotiate
