Overview

We are seeking a Process Engineer with extensive hands-on expertise in Downstream chemicals catalytic processes to join the Downstream Operation Engineering Solutions Department (OESD).

OESD's technical team provides high-quality, multi-disciplinary support to GM operating facilities (Refineries, NGLF, and petrochemical plants) within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and globally.

Your primary role is to be responsible for the total catalyst and absorbents management of the process units, including advisory on catalyst selection, performance evaluation & optimization, benchmarking, cost optimization, field technical support and spent catalyst handling.

Key Responsibilities

As a successful candidate, you are expected to be able to perform the following:
  • Review operations of process catalysts and absorbents by monitoring key performance indicators which include but not limited to product yields, deactivation rates, remaining lifecycle, etc. Issue performance and benchmarking reports highlighting any performance gaps and recommendations for optimization.
  • Support process technology engineers onsite in resolving any catalysts and absorbents performance gaps and implementation of optimization initiatives.
  • Be part of the Global Manufacturing technical team in providing technical advisory for catalyst and absorbents technical procurement package optimization, catalyst techno-economic evaluation, selection, and review of performance guarantees in accordance with established company procedures.
  • Support and coordinate with other internal stakeholders, when necessary, on the requirements to conduct catalyst pilot testing activities.
  • Act as pool manager for managing emergency catalyst exchanges between assets, catalyst regeneration, re-use, metal reclamation and spent catalyst monetization in general.
  • Maintain database of Global Manufacturing catalysts and absorbents detailing the technology providers, quantity, next loading forecasts, etc.
  • Develop the hydroprocessing catalyst cascading roadmap across multiple assets in Global Manufacturing to maximize usage of both fresh and regenerated catalysts.
  • Provide field support to catalyst related activities when needed such as loading & unloading, regeneration & rejuvenation, pre-sulfiding & activation, process optimization, and troubleshooting, in collaboration with facility process engineers and other stakeholders.
  • Manage precious metals used in catalysts, including leasing or reclamation processes, for wholly-owned assets and facilitate any metal pool synergy with Affiliates.
  • Support the pilot testing or field demonstration of commercial catalysts and in-house developed catalysts in Saudi Aramco facilities in collaboration with R&D and other corporate technical entities.

Minimum Requirements

As a successful candidate you will hold a:
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering. Advanced degree is preferred but not required.
  • A minimum of 17 years of total experience in chemical catalytic units (i.e., hydroprocessing, catalytic cracking, reforming, isomerization, etc) with practical experience in catalysts & absorbents selection, performance evaluation, optimization, troubleshooting, operation, regeneration, and catalyst handling.
  • Exposure to various technology licensors (i.e., UOP, Axens, etc.) is a plus.
  • Experience and proficiency in using process engineering simulation programs and tools
  • Expertise in innovation and intellectual property development is a plus.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills, with ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex operational issues

The Senior Technical Manager in the Municipal Roadway group will play a pivotal role in advancing the growth of our Transportation Engineering practice in the Greater Toronto Region. **Key Responsibilities:**
+ Oversee, lead, manage, mentor, and contribute to a team of Roadway and Municipal Engineers and Design Specialists in the design, delivery, and construction support of roadway projects within the Municipal Roadway and Engineering group.
+ Lead, mentor, and motivate a team of Roadway and Municipal Engineers and Design Specialists to deliver high-quality services and innovative solutions.
+ Efficiently manage day-to-day operations of your team, including scheduling, assigning, and reviewing work to achieve project objectives and outcome measures and support the technical Director in developing the roadway group and business objectives.
+ Lead and manage design development on a variety of projects, including functional studies, preliminary design and detail design and participate in providing technical inputs in conducting proposal and business development works.

+ Oversee, lead, manage, mentor and contribute to the project team for the successful completion of field investigations, geometric design, grading design, roadside safety design, drainage design, storm sewer design, pavement marking and signage design, complex construction staging design, traffic management, roadway modelling, quantity estimating, utility coordination, contract drawing preparation, contract document preparation using the Regional, municipal and MTO standards, policies, and practices, construction cost estimate development, scheduling, budgeting, invoicing, construction liaison, project management, and coordination with clients, agencies, stakeholders, and subconsultants.
+ Coordinate with other technical disciplines across the organization to ensure integrated and comprehensive engineering solutions.
+ Assist in business development activities, including proposal preparation, technical project methodology development, work programs, schedules, invoicing, Change Order, risk management and budgets.
+ Prepare technical reports and documentation for clients and project management, ensuring technical excellence and quality assurance of project tasks and deliverables.
+ Actively engaged in management of commercial and financial control of projects.
+ Stay informed of trends, developments, and advancements in the transportation planning and design field to maintain technical competency and provide state-of-the-art services and advice to clients.
+ Nurture and grow client and industry partner relationships to support business growth.

AllRock Consulting is a fast growing Geotechnical/Materials Engineering firm that is looking for a talented Senior Civil/Field Engineering Technologist for part-time or full-time work. This is a unique opportunity to deliver engineering services on a wide variety of exciting projects across Ontario.


Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform quality control/quality assurance testing and field inspection on various infrastructure and construction projects.
  • Laboratory and field testing of soils and aggregates.
  • Laboratory and field testing of cementitious products (i.e., concrete, grout).
  • Inspection and field testing during asphalt placement operations.
  • Placing and assisting in Vibration Monitoring projects.
  • Pile Driving Monitoring.
  • Assisting project managers with field and lab staff coordination.
  • Assisting project manager and engineers with report writing.
  • Prepare and circulate testing results to clients.
  • Experience in building science inspections, including roofing and steel inspections.
  • Background in environmental assessments, including biological evaluations.
  • Monitor vibrations and conduct ground-penetrating radar (GPR) surveys.
  • Collaborating with various AllRock staff to best serve the needs of our diverse client base.
  • Execute pull tests and specialized laboratory tests such as triaxial and consolidation tests.
  • Conduct geotechnical monitoring, including settlement monitoring.

Qualifications

  • Completion of a College program in Civil Engineering Technology.
  • Maintain a full and valid drivers license.
  • Have access to a vehicle for transportation to and from construction sites.
  • Minimum 5+ Years of Materials testing experience.
  • Hold a valid CCIL certification.

- Knowledge of CSA 22.3 No.1 for overhead systems and CSA C220.3 No.7 for underground systems.
- Experience working with third party utility permitting applications and utility coordination process is an asset.
