**_The What_**
The Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) Specialist is responsible for supporting their respective business needs and addressing all EHS related matters.
**_The How_**
+ Ensuring all data on EHS is entered on time on the EHS website
+ Developing, completing and filing all necessary documentation and/or reports in accordance with applicable reporting and record keeping requirements on EHS Web for SBD
+ Maintaining a compliance calendar for all required activities and reporting obligations for facilities
+ Developing and maintaining all environmental, health, and safety programs for division
+ Identify, participate in and/or lead agency inspection response requirements
+ Understanding solid and hazardous waste laws and regulations applicable to the facility's wastes; identifying hazardous and non-hazardous wastes, and ensuring the proper management and disposal of such wastes
+ Working with Operations to evaluate opportunities for recycling and waste reduction, reducing energy consumption, conserving water and evaluating new raw materials or replacements for existing raw materials
+ Identifying and implementing EHS training programs for employees and contractors
+ Coordinating industrial hygiene surveys, safety reviews, hazard analysis, accident investigations, and analyzing trends in injury/illness experience and hazards identified at the facility
+ Guiding and supporting all location management on injury reporting and timelines to provide to the Corporate EHS group
+ Supporting the Sr EHS Manager on Workers Comp management within the divisions to reduce financial impact
+ Providing WSIB Clearance letters to meet customer expectations
+ Supporting Operations is providing EHS documentation for third party accreditation
+ Assisting in completing EHS questionnaires for customers
+ Supporting Facility in meeting respective Roadmap targets and ensuring managers are aware of their targets and obligations
+ Coordinate Process Risk Assessments for the site
+ Act as Management member of the Joint Health & Safety Committee
**_What we need_**
+ Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university in Occupational Health and Safety or other applicable discipline
+ 2-4 years of work experience as a HSE Specialist ideally in a warehouse or manufacturing environment
+ Working knowledge of Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act and related legislation
+ Experience managing return to work programs
+ Demonstrated experience in employee coaching and training
+ Demonstrated knowledge of Health and Safety legislation in all provincial areas is required
+ Valid driver's license
+ Excellent leadership and training skills
+ Strong time management, planning, organizing and prioritization skills
+ Exceptional interpersonal & communication skills in order to liaise with clients, subcontractors & employees

**Reporting to the Plant Manager, the EHS Manager is responsible for managing plant safety and environmental programs to ensure a safe and accident-free work environment. Implements, oversees, and adapts policies and programs to improve the facility's environmental and safety performance and ensures compliance with current and future regulations and standards. Plans and / or delivers programs to train managers and employees in work site safety and environmental practices. Promotes safety by working with all departments to analyze the current situation and recommend safety improvements.** **You'll add value to this role by performing various functions including, but not limited to:**
**Responsible for all aspects of EHS, including OSHA, and environmental record keeping, safety audits, and accident investigations and identifying workplace hazards.**
**Develop, evaluate, and maintain the department budget for the EHS area.**

**Develop, deliver, and track participation in health and safety related training and OSHA related certifications.**
