Position Summary:
e are seeking a dynamic and experienced Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Manager to lead and manage our Environmental Health and Safety functions. The EHS Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of Environmental, Health and Safety practices and processes, including the safety and well-being of employees in our production environment, developing and implementing safety programs and procedures, identifying and accessing workplace hazards, conducting safety inspections, investigating workplace accidents. This role is crucial in ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations while promoting a safe working environment for all employees.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement Health and Safety policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations

- Over 8 years of experience in Environmental Health and Safety in a manufacturing operation and/or supply chain environment, including more than 2 years’ managerial role
- Experience in Consumer-Packaged Goods (CPG) industry is an asset.
- Demonstrated ability to enhance existing programs and develop Environmental Health and Safety programs in a manufacturing operations and/or supply chain environment
- Comprehensive knowledge of health and safety legislation combined with advanced training in hazard recognition, assessment, and control
- Proven success in leading across functional teams as a change agent to influence the safety culture

Reporting to the Plant Manager, the EHS Manager is responsible for managing plant safety and environmental programs to ensure a safe and accident-free work environment. Summary
Tarkett is seeking a hands-on EHS Manager to help develop, establish, and maintain an environmental health and safety program that strives to meet or exceed all regulatory requirements, and provides for a safe work environment that is free of hazards in pursuit of zero work-related injuries / illnesses, using a behavioral based approach. This role is located in Farnham and reports to the Operation Site Director.
Responsibilities
- Act as the primary EHS support for the site, responsible for all aspects and EHS reporting
- Act as the primary voice for safety and environmental support for the site
- Assists with all aspects of the Environmental Health and Safety program.
- Ensure compliance to all Safe Work Practices (SWP), regulatory standards (CNESST, code du batiment ) and plant policies and procedures.
- Conduct training/assessments/audits/investigations as an important part of the World Class Manufacturing management system
- Responsible for the ISO EHS requirements as determined by standard, and audit process for continued certification

- Assist in ensuring proper training and compliance to plant EHS policies and procedures involving contractor / vendor personnel.
- Perform, document, and trend behavioral-safety observations.
- Analyze data and perform trending analysis to identify and implement corrective actions as well as develop strategic risk mitigation strategies.
- Assist in maintaining assorted databases and software programs in support of the EHS Department and Plant EHS initiatives.
- Write up the Plant's monthly and annual reports
- Conduct ergonomic assessments of equipment, workstations, etc. as needed.
- Research safety equipment for its application and purchase.
- Assist in personal protective equipment (PPE) selection and trials as well as to ensure its proper use, maintenance and storage.
- Responsible for workers compensation claim management and return to work programs.
- Serve as an EHS Champion in furthering "Safety First" culture.
Qualifications
- Associates Degree in Safety, Industrial Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene or related discipline desired.
- Minimum of five years of experience in environmental, health and safety, preferably in a unionized manufacturing environment.
- Strong working knowledge of all local, provincial and federal safety and environmental regulations.
- Knowledge of regulatory reporting, air permitting, and hazardous waste management.
- Knowledge of workers compensation law. Knowledge of light duty / return to work programs.
- Demonstrates strong root cause and corrective action skills. Advanced ability to facilitate RCCA problem-solving sessions.
- Excellent bilingual (French and English) verbal and written skills to include technical writing.
- Strong interpersonal and presentations skills are essential.
