About the Job:
The Environmental Technician is a key employee involved in the daily environmental functions at Coeur Silvertip Mine. Reporting to the Environmental Superintendent, the Environmental Technician is responsible for routine environmental monitoring and compliance activities, data collection and management. Work is performed outdoors in all weather conditions. There will be exposure to extreme temperatures in all seasons and working in conditions of snow, mud and ice. The position involves some hiking through rugged terrain and lifting of equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Be a safety leader, adhere to and promote safety in the workplace and environmental compliance
- Perform environmental monitoring on site including but not limited to, water quality sampling, flow measurements, data downloads, groundwater sampling, drinking water sampling to ensure compliance with government regulations, licenses, permits;
- Routine and annual environmental monitoring also includes, soil and vegetation sampling, air quality sampling, wildlife monitoring, invasive plant monitoring, terrestrial surveys, contaminated soil sampling and hazardous waste management;
- Maintain, repair, and calibrate monitoring equipment and instrumentation
- Perform routine inspections as required by the site Environmental Management System;
- Understand permits and associated compliance requirements
- Assist in the preparation of technical reports;
- Assist with and monitor reclamation and trial projects as directed by the environment group;
- Perform data quality and control analysis on internal and external data and implement improvements as needed to meet data quality objectives;
- Support data analysis and information management;
- Support with development, review and implementation of training documents, such as standard operating procedures (SOPs);
- Assist in environmental emergency response;
- Record data and observations in an accurate and well-organized manner;
- Communicate effectively with project team members and other departments;
- Coordinate environmental related activities including sample shipment, sampling supplies, maintaining field equipment and schedules;
- Ensure housekeeping and cleanliness in all work areas are kept to the highest standards;
- Other additional tasks as required and assigned;
- Work independently with little to no supervision.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Environmental Technician Diploma, Environmental Monitor Certification or similar;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Strong computer skills (including detailed knowledge of Microsoft excel and word);
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy;
- Physically fit to perform the duties of the position;
- Six months, work experience in the mining & exploration industry – preferable;
- Valid driver’s license.

- Willing to work a two-week rotation schedule, with 12-hour shifts per day at a remote camp.

As an Intermediate Hydrometric or Environmental Technician , you will join one of our Western Canada offices contributing to our Natural Sciences team.
The successful applicant will collaborate with a team of intermediate and senior scientists and engineers on multi-disciplinary projects addressing issues that could include water supply and source protection, instream flow needs, effluent discharge and stream/water body loading, environmental protection and management, environmental impact assessments, climate science, and baseline or compliance monitoring programs.

- Hydrometric field sampling equipment including acoustic doppler instrumentation (e.g., ADV, ADCP, SonTek IQ) and other continuous data collection platforms such as pressure transducers, data loggers and climatological instrumentation
- Proficiency in survey data collection techniques using standard equipment; experience with RTK systems is an asset
- Management of hydrometric, climatological or water quality data using hydrometric software (Aquarius or similar)
- Familiarity with hydrometric data production processes and federal and/or provincial hydrometric monitoring standards
- Hydrology field sampling equipment including acoustic doppler instrumentation (e.g., ADV, ADCP, SonTek IQ) and other continuous data collection platforms
- Strong understanding of channel hydraulics related to the design and installation of instream monitoring instrumentation
- Operating Off Highway vehicles including UTV, snowmobiles, Argos as well as jet and propeller driven boats
- Must be physically able to meet the demands of field work in a variety of weather conditions

Job Title: Environmental Compliance Superintendent
Reporting to the Environmental Manager, the Environmental Compliance Superintendent supports the implementation of environmental and sustainability requirements at the Eskay Creek Mine site. This site-based role is responsible for ensuring operational compliance with all applicable environmental legislation, permits, and internal commitments. The role oversees environmental inspections, supports regulatory reporting, manages site-level permitting, and drives continuous improvement of the Environmental Management System (EMS).
The Environmental Compliance Superintendent works closely with the Environmental Construction Superintendents, site operations, consultants, and the Sustainability team to integrate compliance into daily activities and long-term planning. A key part of the role includes supporting the development of the Revitalization Project including implementing various agreements and furthering our relationship with the Tahltan Central Government and maintaining strong relationships with regulatory agencies and other external stakeholders.
Position Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
Environmental Management System (EMS)
- Coordinates the implementation and maintenance of the site EMS to proactively manage environmental compliance, issues, risk, and performance.
- Oversees consultants’ work and coordinates required Qualified Professionals (QPs) to complete EMS-related tasks.
- Oversees site data and records management consistent with regulatory and company requirements.
- Identify, document, and maintain all site compliance obligations ensuring they are embedded in operational practices.
- Screen and track all applicable regulatory obligations per site, including permits, licenses, and commitments, and ensure timely updates and implementation.
Compliance and Reporting
- Coordinates the completion of required compliance reporting, including the analysis, interpretation, and effective communication of environmental data to inform site management decisions.
- Supports the implementation of sustainability initiatives such as developing, tracking, and reporting on Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) metrics.
- Support and/or lead external assurance interviews, site audits, and follow-up reporting; coordinate and track progress on identified improvement opportunities.
Operational Support and Collaboration
- Works collaboratively and proactively with the Operations team to ensure site activities align with legislative, permit, and other commitments, while remaining on schedule and within budget.

The Ideal Candidate
Education / Qualifications:
- A minimum of a bachelor's degree or diploma in a field related to regulatory approvals and/or directly relevant environmental discipline.

Experience / Skills
- Minimum of 6 years of environmental management experience in the mining industry or comparable sectors.

Work Location & Conditions
This is a site-based camp job at Eskay Creek Mine site. This position involves working at a remote mine site on a 15 days on/13 days off rotation.
The Eskay Creek Revitalization Project is located within the Coast Mountains of Northwestern British Columbia and Tahltan Territory. Ground transportation will be provided from local communities to the Eskay Creek Site facilities. For those applicants located elsewhere in western Canada, flight transportation from major urban centers will be provided to the Terrace or Smithers airports, from which shuttles will provide transportation to the Eskay Creek Camp facilities. Travel time and expenses are subject to Skeena’s Travel Policy.
There will be exposure to extreme temperatures in all seasons including working outdoors in snow, mud, ice, and water conditions, walking to and from different locations on uneven ground, prolonged periods of standing and physically handling/lifting/moving heavy objects.
Compensation
The expected range for this position is CAD $100,000-$135,000 in line with the competitive job market for such roles carried out in British Columbia. Salary ranges are guidelines and any job offer received by a candidate will be determined on a number of factors such as relevant education, training, and/or experience.

Outside of the FRI program, KBM Field Services complete a variety of other projects annually, including Forest Carbon Inventories, Aerial Forest Health Mapping, Stereo-photo Forest Interpretation, Environmental Due Diligence Surveys, etc. Successful candidates may be positioned to work on other projects depending on their experience and aptitude. Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Technician to join our team. This role involves the installation, repair, and maintenance of insulated panels, ACM siding, flashing and trim work, cooler and freezer doors, man doors, and door equipment. The Field Technician will also handle job preparation, stock parts, ensure site cleanliness, and complete work orders and time sheets. Additional tasks may be assigned by the Coordinator or Job Lead as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install IMPs, ACM siding, vapor barriers, flashing and bars, caulking and sealant.
- Complete work orders, timesheets, and other required documentation accurately and on time.
- Maintain a clean, operational work truck and ensure it is stocked with necessary parts.
- Report low stock levels and manage parts reordering.
- Safely dispose of materials removed from job sites and maintain a clean, safe work environment.
- Continuously improve product knowledge to provide excellent customer service.
- Experience operating aerial work platforms and forklifts.
- Knowledge of various insulated panel systems, ACM siding and doors.
- Experience with metal trim installation and the use of spray foam, silicone, and butyl.
- Comfort using both manual and powered hand tools.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
