As our Heavy Equipment Technician you'll play an integral role in performing major diagnostics and major repairs and servicing all equipment in fleet with minimal supervision. You are responsible for providing the highest quality of service and complying with the company's established policies and procedures. This position may be responsible for developing and coaching apprentices.

Job Title: Heavy Equipment Technician

The Heavy Equipment Technician is responsible for delivering high-quality workmanship, reliable service, and technical expertise to customers. This role includes all aspects of testing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and reconditioning heavy equipment, transmissions, engines (gasoline and diesel), and related engine components—often performed on-site or through roadside assistance.

Key Accountabilities: Heavy Equipment Technician

• Inspect and diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems and components.

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, The Heavy Equipment Technician position is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and overhauling the Corporation's diesel generators and associated support equipment including engines, pumps, compressors, radiators, heat exchangers, lube oil systems, fuel oil systems, cooling systems, and other related subsystems. This position works in close collaboration with other trade positions and travels frequently to remote communities within the region to ensure optimal operation of generation systems.
