+ Assist foremen and superintendents with site management, quality control, safety, and scheduling.

The Field Engineer/Geologist is responsible for the safe, efficient and accurate operation of geotechnical and geophysical site investigation equipment. Given significant responsibility, the Field Engineer/Geologist is tasked with the smooth and accurate execution of various projects, from the deployment of equipment to data acquisition and submission. They will work closely with equipment operators, gaining hands-on experience with unique heavy machinery and a sophisticated suite of geotechnical instruments in a variety of environments.
The Field Engineer/Geologist will assume numerous other roles ranging from Equipment Operator to Project Coordinator as the ever-changing demands of the workplace dictate. A successful candidate must have well-developed interpersonal, organizational and communication skills as well as strong problem-solving abilities.
OVERALL GOALS FOR POSITION

ROLES, RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS
Equipment Operation
- Familiarize with and operate CPTu equipment, VST, sampling systems, numerous geophysicalinstruments and other in-situ testing equipment in a safe and productive manner.
- Become trained, company-certified and competent to operate numerous types of drillingequipment and other pieces of equipment within our extensive fleet.
- Organize logistics for the mobilization and demobilization of equipment in hard-to-accessenvironments.
- Perform routine maintenance on various pieces of equipment to ensure optimal performance.
Data Collection & Reporting
- Perform testing to collect data in a timely, orderly and accurate manner.
- Compile the collected data, sample logs, etc. daily and submit to the Engineer/Supervisor and/orclient for further processing.
- Collect field notes and photos to guarantee the translation of data from the field to the office is as highlyaccurate as possible.
- Prepare and compile the final field report.
Health & Safety
- Identify with and respect ConeTecs safety culture, first and foremost.
- Ensure proper preparation and knowledge of all necessary safe operating procedures beforebeginning any job.
- Report any safety-related incidents, infractions, or near misses to the Project Manager and theHSE Officer, immediately.
- Know and follow the incident reporting protocol at all times.
Other General Responsibilities
- This position requires frequent travel to a variety of work sites throughout Western Canada
- Communicate with the Supervisor or Project Manager as to any equipment problems or needs, aswell as any field observations that might be of use.
- Perform other shop functions as required.
SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Education Requirements
- Completed a Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Geology or other geo-related science
- Drivers license and clean driving record.
Experience Requirements
- Previous field experience is an asset.
Technical Skill Requirements
- Experience with Microsoft Excel is an asset
- Electrical and mechanical skills are an asset but not required
- Must be able to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, moving heavy materials up to 50 lbs., climbing, crawling as well as walking on uneven ground, working long hours in all weather conditions.

Job Title: Field Engineer
Reporting directly to the Field Engineering Manager, the Field Engineer will provide on site technical support, working closely with the construction team, contractors and the liaison between the field and the home office teams. The individual will be part of a team to ensuring the engineering design is being properly interpreted and installed at site.
The Field Engineer will collaborate closely with contractors, interpret drawings and specifications for field crews, and provide inputs into detailed work plans and packages. Additionally, duties may include managing material orders and deliveries and working closely with the completions and turnover teams.
Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
Engineering and Technical Support
Provide field engineering support, working closely with the site construction team, contractors, and home office teams to ensure smooth coordination.
Review and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and survey data to support construction activities.
Draft and issue Requests for Information (RFIs) to clarify design or construction details.
Collaborate with contractors and the Engineer of Record (EOR) to resolve technical issues that may arise during execution.
Project Coordination and Planning
Conduct and participate in construction and engineering meetings to align teams and address challenges.
Provide input for forecasting, planning, and scheduling to keep the project on track.
Monitor and report on construction progress, highlighting risks and potential delays.
Quality, Safety, and Compliance

Work Location & Conditions
This is a site-based camp job at Eskay Creek Mine site. This position involves working at a remote mine site on a 15 days on/13 days off rotation.
The Eskay Creek Revitalization Project is located within the Coast Mountains of Northwestern British Columbia and Tahltan Territory. Ground transportation will be provided from local communities to the Eskay Creek Site facilities. For those applicants located elsewhere in western Canada, flight transportation from major urban centers will be provided to the Terrace or Smithers airports, from which shuttles will provide transportation to the Eskay Creek Camp facilities. Travel time and expenses are subject to Skeena’s Travel Policy.
There will be exposure to extreme temperatures in all seasons including working outdoors in snow, mud, ice, and water conditions, walking to and from different locations on uneven ground, prolonged periods of standing and physically handling/lifting/moving heavy objects.

Compensation
The expected salary range for this position is CA$100,000- CA$130,000 , in line with the competitive job market for such roles carried out in British Columbia. - Provide field support and supervise subcontractor operations
_Estimating:_
- Assist in reviewing and analyzing historical data relative to the project, incorporating various productions and costs appropriate in preparation of a bid
- Complete a plan and specification review for an assigned project, assessing the risk areas and bringing them to the attention of the Senior Estimator
- Complete material and quantity takeoffs according to bid documents
**Qualifications**
- Ability to travel as needed
- 3+ years' construction field experience
- Work experience in engineering and leading engineers
- Undergraduate degree in electrical or mechanical engineering, construction management, or related
- Ability to read, analyze and identify discrepancies on engineering plans, specifications, and contract documents

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented **Entry Level Field** **Engineer/Geoscientist** to join our team in Yellowknife, NT! In this role you will get to **inspect and oversee various aspects of the construction and remediation activities at Giant Mine!**

Parsons is the Construction Manager of the Giant Mine Remediation Project. This is a world class remediation project using innovative methods to deliver a safe environment. The project is expected to last over 10 years and is located just outside the City of Yellowknife, NWT.

**What You'll Be Doing:**
+ Inspect the works of contractors by monitoring their performance to meet the specification and contract requirements.
+ Support and ensure Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) standards are followed at site by subcontractors in accordance with EHS program. Perform safety auditsinspections.
+ Oversee and perform site inspections and enforcement of standards
+ Oversee Quality Control/Quality Assurance of work being performed by contractors. Ensuring quality control plans are followed and witnessing, verifying, approving as per the Inspection Test Plans (ITP). Coordinating the testing requirements with the contractor and third-party independent testing agents.
+ Support Project Managers and Engineers in the delivery of the construction scope, schedule, budget, safety, and quality of work packages delivered by sub-contractors.
+ Monitor, verify and generate daily reports on the progress and performance of subcontractor activities.
+ Review contractor daily reports and verify.
+ Review daily and weekly plans, perform site inspections to monitor and assure adherence to plans.
+ Assist Project Managers and Engineers with quality control assessments and the quality reports.
+ Support the Project Managers and Engineers with resolving issues when variance in cost, schedule or quality arise by working with the contractors to develop and implement corrective actions.
**What Required Skills You'll Bring:**
+ Diploma or degree in related field. Work experience in heavy civil, northern mining or remediation projects will be an asset. Significant experience in lieu of diploma, or degree will be considered.
+ Must have ability to understand design specifications, quality plans and performing quality assurance functions.
+ Must have ability to oversee activities of multiple contractors.
+ Must have strong conflict resolution skills and ability to monitor and maintain contractor adherence to specifications and standards.
+ Must have the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
+ Must be able to operate self-sufficiently in field environments.
+ Proven ability to prepare reports and documentation.
+ Hold a valid Canadian driver's license.
+ Be willing to live in Yellowknife, NWT.

**Position Overview**
As an Electrical or Mechanical Field Engineer you will be the primary or lead engineer on projects and report directly to the Project Engineer. As a Field Engineer, you will be expected to be a job-site leader in health and safety, ensuring quality of workmanship, reporting and tracking engineering deliverable progress and changes. Your functions will also include contract administration, project planning and scheduling, project reporting, and you will play an advisory role to Project Management for constructability, contractual, legal, and other project issues.
