JOB PURPOSE

Netagen is seeking a Business Development Specialist to join our dynamic sales team. The Business Development Specialist is responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building relationships with prospective clients, and contributing to Netagens growth by driving revenue through strategic sales efforts. This role centers on understanding market trends, generating leads, and managing the sales pipeline from prospecting to close. By working collaboratively with internal teams, the Business Development Specialist will contribute to Netagens market expansion and strengthen its industry presence.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Market Research & Lead Generation:

  • Conduct in-depth market research to identify potential business opportunities, assess industry trends, and analyze the competitive landscape to stay ahead in the market.
  • Develop and execute lead generation strategies through networking, cold calling, and online research to identify and connect with potential clients.

Client Engagement & Relationship Building:

  • Build and nurture strong relationships with prospective clients, understanding their business needs, and present tailored solutions that align with their objective.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor, ensuring clients feel supported and informed throughout the business development process.

Proposal Development & Presentation:

  • Prepare compelling proposals, presentations, and pitches that highlight the value of Netagens offerings and address client-specific objectives.
  • Customize presentations to prospective clients, showcasing how our solutions align with their business goals.

Pipeline & Sales Process Management:

  • Maintain the sales pipeline effectively, tracking progress and updating records in the CRM to maintain accurate information on prospects and client interactions.
  • Lead negotiations, address concerns, and finalize agreements to successfully close deals, ensuring smooth transitions from prospect to client.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with marketing, product development, and customer support teams to ensure alignment on business development efforts and provide feedback from client interactions.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to create customized solutions that meet client needs and support seamless service delivery.


SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Bachelors degree or diploma in business, marketing, sales, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in business development, sales, or lead generation, ideally within the technology or telecommunications sector.
  • Proficient in business development strategies and lead generation techniques, with a strong understanding of industry trends and the competitive landscape.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and trust with prospective clients, articulate value propositions clearly, and lead effective negotiations.
  • Skilled communicator with the ability to articulate ideas clearly and persuasively in both written and verbal forms; adept at active listening to understand and address client needs.
  • Excellent analytical skills to interpret market data and sales metrics, with a strategic approach to planning and achieving business growth.

Business Development Representative “BDR” works on identifying opportunities at provided named accounts through outbound cold-calling, building relationships and qualifying leads for Account Executives. 

A successful BDR will engage with top compliance leaders and position Assent’s unique approach to solving the “compliance puzzle”. Key Requirements & Responsibilities 

  • Leverage all available marketing resources and advanced sales development tactics in order to generate highly qualified meetings from target Accounts within relevant industries;

  • Drive pipeline growth by scheduling qualified appointments with Account Executives;

  • Engage with top compliance leaders to drive growth;

About this role

We are seeking high-energy, impact players to support our aggressive growth as Senior Business Development Representatives (BDR). As the first point of contact with our customers, BDRs are responsible for driving revenue growth by generating opportunities for Senior Account Executives (AEs). Senior BDRs take greater ownership of the entire sales process, assisting AEs in converting interested prospects. Top performers are expected to transition into a Junior Account Executive role in under six months and will be rewarded with further growth opportunities, incentive pay, and more.


The ideal candidate has at least one year of experience in a BDR role (or similar), a proven record of exceeding targets, and a bachelors degree. You will have the opportunity to work with and learn from a closely-knit team focused on solidifying our position in the hospitality and travel markets as travel begins to return. Your role will require exceptional communication skills and a strong focus on detail.


You will be responsible for:


  • High-volume prospecting, call outreach and top-of-funnel SaaS sales
  • Identify new opportunities by reaching out to prospects via telephone, email and LinkedIn to introduce our Hospitality Product Line
  • Initiate outbound lead generation programs, including cold-calling prospects
  • Engage with decision makers to identify (discover) the needs and challenges of their hotels
  • Work with Account Executives to transition prospects through the entire sales process from interest to conversion
  • Grow, maintain and manage a pipeline by leveraging MicroMetrics prospect database
  • Handle prospect objections and follow up with decision-makers using different outbound sales tactics and tools
  • Work with Senior Leadership to develop new strategies, grow the sales pipeline, and consistently meet personal and team goals
  • Motivate and support team members to achieve sales targets/individual results

  • 1+ years of experience in a BDR, SDR, or similar high-volume sales/customer facing role
  • Proven track record of consistently achieving performance-related goals (KPIs)
  • Strong organizational skills, self-motivation, and the ability to work autonomously and remotely
  • Comfortable in a high-volume, top-of-funnel role
  • Desire to develop a career in Business Development/SaaS Sales, with a strong technical aptitude
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • A post-secondary degree is an asset

Hybrid Work

Day-to-Day Duties and Responsibilities

  • Self-generate new leads, appointments, and referrals through day-to-day new business activity.
  • Attend sales appointments booked by your Telemarketing partner and your own self-generated appointments.
  • Generate and attend meetings with potential introducers and referral partners.
  • Achieve quarterly sales targets.
  • Accurately build, manage, and maintain your sales pipeline.
  • Thrive on working in a fast paced, target focused high energy and high reward culture.

What you Bring to the Team

  • 5 years plus track record of selling in a B2B environment (Industry experience NOT required).
  • Confidence in value based/consultative selling.
  • Ability to sell to different audiences including Business Owners, Board of Directors and HR Managers.
