Requirements:
Bachelors degree in Motion Graphics, Animation, Graphic Design, Multimedia Arts, or a related field.
Proven experience as a Motion Graphics Designer/Specialist or Animator.
Proficiency with motion graphics and video editing software such as After Effects, Premiere Pro, Illustrator, Photoshop, and other Adobe Creative Cloud tools.
Strong understanding of animation principles, typography, and storytelling.
A strong portfolio showcasing motion graphics, animations, and video editing work.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

THE ROLE: MOTION GRAPHICS DESIGNER
JOB OVERVIEW
Motion Graphics Designers design and animate Fantasy User Interface(FUI) elements for on-set playback on Film and Television productions. This position works closely with Key Creatives in a fast paced and focused production environment. Motion Graphics Designers are required to both work on teams and individually, to conceptualize, communicate, and execute design ideas quickly. This is an in-office position with a remote work component as needed based on changing health and safety protocols. This position reports to the Playback Producer and Key Creatives.
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES ARE, BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- Create robust, technically solid Motion Graphic sequences for Playback and Post that clearly, artfully and efficiently communicate the story points in a given scene or brief.
- Read and interpret scenes to better address each creative brief.
- Conceptualize and build original designs and FUI systems.
- Make use of pre-existing visual elements and design systems to develop concepts.
- Research visual reference material to drive design process forward.
- Innovate new uses to enhance existing systems
- Iterate design and animation passes quickly and address any notes from Key Creatives.
- Prepare graphics to technical specifications and quality control standards.
- Provide clear and concise documentation when necessary on how to use published motion graphics builds.
- Work within tight timelines to complete graphics and ensure production deadlines are met.

- Minimum of 4 years of experience and/or related education.
- Must have strong Graphic Design and Motion Graphics skills.
- Ability to adapt to and work in a broad range of design styles.
- Comfortable working with 2D, 2.5D animation approaches and techniques.
- Proficient with Adobe CC Suite: After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator
- Strong communication skills with an ability to articulate and sell creative ideas

ROLE SUMMARY
The Motion Graphics Coordinator (Contract) will be assigned to productions and will be responsible for breaking down scripts, attending meetings with production, budgeting hours for motion graphics builds, and creating and delivering design briefs to our team of Motion Graphics Designers. You will provide design and story feedback to the artist (alongside the Creative Director) until the graphics build is complete, and then send it to the director, writers, and showrunner for review.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Read and create script breakdowns identifying screen graphic elements on laptops, phones, tablets, TVs, and computer monitors.
- Budget the hours a motion graphics artist needs to complete each creative build.
- Assist creative team leadership in scheduling artists onto creative builds.
- Create and deliver design briefs to designers via project management software (Wrike) and Zoom.
- Create and maintain an Asset Tracker spreadsheet with the assets/information needed from other departments.
- Provide design and story feedback to the artist alongside the companys Creative Director.
- Send completed graphics previews to the director, writers, and showrunner for external review and facilitate any necessary revisions with the artist.
- Keep project management software updated with the latest one-liner schedules from production.
- Update creative briefs and budgets as needed based on script revisions from production.
- Budget for and deliver additional screen graphics elements to VFX as needed

Position Overview:
The post-production technician is responsible for utilizing industry standard software (i.e. photoshop) to enhance raw images provided by JDP's photographer to high standards that are driven by product requirements and client demand (i.e. compare products, configuration products, client custom work).

- High degree of "accuracy" in the current dept. processes
- Complete work on or before required deadlines

Education, Experience and Competencies:

- Maintain department nomenclature, format and file organization per current processes of all images and image sets
- Assist in archiving and organizing all photography files for all auto manufacturers (year, model, make)
- Ensure Autodata media image database is always correct and current
- Maintain our workflow tools (Jira) with accurate and complete comments and work hour logs
