Position Summary:
Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Finance, the Director, Financial Reporting has responsibility for consolidated financial reporting and corporate accounting activities and ensuring a strong corporate governance framework for financial reporting. Key Responsibilities:

- Lead the ongoing enhancement of internal accounting controls, policies, and procedures within Eldorado Gold’s Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) and NI 52-109 frameworks.
- Act as the primary contact with external auditors, including answering all inquiries in a timely manner and overseeing timely preparation of all schedules requested by the auditors.

Education Requirement:

About The Role
WildBrain is looking for a Manager, Financial Reporting to join our finance team! Reporting to SVP, Corporate Controller. The Manager of Financial Reporting will be responsible for the internal and external financial reporting function. The ideal candidate will be trained at an accounting firm with a strong background in public reporting requirements, technical accounting research, have a keen eye for detail and the ability to partner with various stakeholders throughout the organization to drive change. The Manager of Financial Reporting will lead the charge in continuous financial process improvements to create efficiencies and improve the timeliness of reporting and data integrity, while continuing to develop best practices in policies, processes, controls, and documentation.
Job DescriptionWhat You’ll Do:
- Responsible for the consolidation of financial results for both internal and external reporting purposes and ensure accuracy and completeness of information across all jurisdiction (Canada, US, Europe)
- Prepare external consolidated financial statements, MD&A, and audit committee report on a quarterly and annual basis
- Ensure the accuracy and consistency of financial master data (e.g., chart of accounts, legal entities, cost centers) to support timely and reliable internal and external financial reporting
- Manage the quarterly and annual consolidated audit and local statutory audits
- Research new accounting standards/changes, makes recommendations on accounting policy changes and/or revised disclosures, and ensures that disclosure in financial statements follow IFRS
- Manage and prepare accounting entries for various accounts, including the company’s debt instruments, shareholder’s equity, acquisition-related accounting, and certain other liability accounts.
- Support management in the assessment, accounting and documentation of non-routine and complex accounting transactions
- Assist with legal entity accounting and transfer pricing adjustments for statutory reporting and tax compliance
- Conduct financial analyses and prepare working papers to support financial accounting positions
- Lead the quarterly and annual public company filings including SEDAR.
- Assist with documentation and implementation of accounting policies and internal controls, establishing best practices and process improvements for the finance team
- Support ad hoc requests, special projects, and strategic initiatives as they arise
What You’ll Bring:
- CPA, CA designation or equivalent
- Experience working in a public company and/or media and or studio production distribution environment preferred
- Experience with financial master data management, including maintaining and standardizing chart of accounts, legal entity structures, and other key reporting dimensions across jurisdictions and systems
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and financial consolidation tools is considered an asset, especially in managing and optimizing financial master data.
- Ideally has solid knowledge of IFRS (IFRS 9, IFRS 3, IFRS 15 and IFRS 16) including the latest standards and public company reporting requirements

The Opportunity :
We are looking for a Sr. Manager, Financial Reporting to join our team and oversee the company’s financial reporting and corporate compliance. In this role, you will report into our Director, Finance. You will lead a direct report, the Financial Reporting Analyst.
As the Sr. Manager, Financial Reporting you will be responsible for our corporate compliance & reporting (including sales, corporate & payroll taxes), but most importantly you will be responsible for ensuring we maintain detailed accounting records to ensure accuracy of financials. You will focus on managing the month-end close process along with managing our day-to-day accounting, treasury & cash management processes. This role will require you to be adaptable and the ability to get involved at both the 3 foot and 30,000 foot levels.

The opportunity includes:
Financial Reporting
- Own the full-cycle accounting process to support the finance department in monthly reporting and planning
- Review and approve manual journal entries prepared by the Analyst
- Prepare complex journal entries such as payroll, reclasses, and intercompany transactions
- Lead the timely and accurate monthly, quarterly and annual financial close process
- Prepare financial packages for external stakeholders on a quarterly basis
- Partner with the Director of Finance to prepare and release the monthly reporting packages to the Sr. Leadership Team
- Own the successful completion of the year-end audit and other assurance engagements, as required
- Mentor and support the Financial Reporting Analyst on their responsibilities
- Partner with the Director of Finance to update our weekly/monthly business dashboard
- Oversee data management, integrity and accuracy of the balance sheet, income statement and other ledgers within our ERP system (Netsuite)
Corporate Compliance & Taxes
- Manage the calendar of various Canadian & US tax and compliance requirements and ensure the company is compliant at all times
- Oversee and manage relationship with external accounting firm for corporate tax preparation on a timely basis
- Oversee and manage relationship with Avalara Tax to ensure US sales taxes / International VAT are appropriately charged and remitted on a timely basis; partner with Avalara to ensure registration for sales tax numbers in new states are completed in a timely manner
- Prepare and submit Canadian monthly, quarterly and annual HST/GST returns
Treasury & Cash Management
- Review AP reports prepared by AP Specialist on a weekly basis and approve payrun
- Make wire payments on a weekly basis to suppliers.
- Monitor cash balances across our varying bank accounts to ensure financial obligations are met; this includes oversight of our corporate credit card balances and limits
- Partnering with the Director of Finance to maintain, report, and update our cash flow forecast
Payroll
- Run corporate payroll on a bi-weekly basis via our payroll provider, Wagepoint; calculate special payments (bonuses, retro payments, compensation changes, terminations)
- Manage the calendar of payroll tax and compliance requirements and ensure the company is compliant at all times
Partner Management
- Act as liaison to the external auditors and other external service providers throughout the year, and
- Maintain connection with banking, lessors and insurance partners, and collaborate with these partners to ensure the Company is in compliance with all requirements.
Process improvement
- Drive continuous refinements in our accounting processes with a focus on efficiency while driving improved visibility into key metrics.
- Enhance processes and lead the implementation of new financial systems that help to automate activities and reduce reporting timelines
- Design, implement and oversee key controls in financial reporting as necessary that may not exist
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners
- Assist with and manage various ad-hoc projects as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree is required, CPA, and/or CFA are a plus;
- Retail industry, specifically D2C experience is a plus;
- Previous experience in financial accounting (5 years +) preferred;
- Demonstrated outstanding financial leadership skills and expertise with an emphasis on translating financial insights into operational recommendations; proven success in presenting information in a concise and easy to digest format

- A go-getter with strong attention to detail.

Location:
- We have flexible working arrangements for the team. Currently, our team is working in-office 2-3 days a week and remotely the remaining days.
