**Job Overview**
Jensen Hughes has a new job opportunity for a Building & Fire Code Consultant in our Burnaby, BC or Calgary, AB office. We are looking for an experienced Engineer to work in all aspects of fire protection engineering, including building code consulting, fire protection systems, and fire protection strategies.
The successful applicant will have a well-rounded background in fire protection and code consulting and possess strong analytical and creative thinking skills. The role will involve many aspects of fire protection engineering with a focus on Building Code and Fire Code consulting. The position will coordinate and conduct building plan reviews, interpret the building codes, develop alternative solutions, prepare building design reports and coordinate with fire protection engineering design teams. The candidate will be responsible for the review and implementation of fire protection strategies and will coordinate on all matters with design teams and authorities having jurisdiction.
**Responsibilities:**
+ Management and implementation of a wide variety of engineering design and consulting projects.
+ Satisfy client needs and expectations by completing assigned tasks on schedule and within budget.
+ Coordinate and conduct building and fire code reviews and analyses, including plan reviews and site visits.
+ Preparation and peer review of project-related technical reports.
+ Develop fire protection strategies, performance-based design approaches, and alternative solutions to resolve client design issues.
+ Effectively communicate with project team members, clients, and others.
+ Assist with business development activities.
**Minimum Requirements**
+ Five (5) plus years of experience in code consulting, design of fire suppression and alarm systems, and developing performance-based strategies in a project design environment is preferred.
+ Bachelor's Degree or higher in Engineering, Architecture, or related field
+ Experience in developing building code concepts and equivalencies, conducting building plan reviews, and conducting field reviews/inspections
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ P.Eng is preferred
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills
+ Proven project management experience
+ Ability to present clear and technically sound fire protection engineering strategies

Overview
The Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) team is seeking a Director, Risk Assessment to facilitate business unit risk assessments across the Company, partnering with first line risk teams and other key stakeholders in all businesses and functions. The role will be part of the ERM Center of Excellence team with responsibilities of developing, enhancing and implementing ERM policies, procedures and guidance. This role is also responsible for driving the identification, assessment, and reporting of sustainability-related risks across the company.
We are looking for a forward-thinking, strategic individual who is also a practical problem solver with experience in sustainability risk management, broader enterprise risk management and change management.
Role
Enterprise Risk Management
- Engage with regional and global business units to drive and guide risk assessment activities, e.g. risk workshops, risk identification, risk acceptance
- Engage with stakeholders to support development of risk mitigation strategies, assess their adequacy and track plan progress
- Identification and assessment of emerging and evolving risks
- Develop and enhance ERM policies, procedures and guidance
- Develop and deliver training programs to facilitate the adoption of ERM policies, procedures and guidance across regions, business lines and functions
- Support processes to link risk assessment and mitigation activities to the Company's strategic planning and budgeting processes
- Support ERM GRC tool development to adapt to evolving risk management processes and requirements
Sustainability Risk
- Lead the risk assessment process for the annual double materiality assessment under the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices
- Enhance the risk assessment methodology for the double materiality assessment process, in alignment with the European Sustainability Reporting Standards and evolving best practices
- Ensure that ERM-led enterprise risk assessments systematically identify and evaluate material sustainability-related risks, including environmental, social, and governance dimensions
- Collaborate with first- and second-line teams responsible for physical and transition climate risks to ensure a consistent, risk-based approach to assessment, documentation, and communication of climate-related exposures

- Risk management experience in a large multinational company with a mature risk function
- Proven experience in sustainability related risk assessment and management, including environmental, social, and governance dimensions
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and make data-driven decisions

As a Risk Assessment Specialist, you will be part of the foundation of our human health and ecological risk assessment (HHERA) group. Candidates can be based in any Matrix office location. The successful applicant will be involved in a broad range of risk assessment, risk management and toxicology projects with responsibilities as follows:


  • Maintain a strong working knowledge of federal and provincial risk-based regulations
  • Act as Technical Accountable for HHERA for a variety of clients for risk-based management of contaminated sites across Canada
  • Provide support as an expert witness if/when needed in the regulatory approval process
  • Provide senior review for quality assurance of technical risk assessment and risk management reports

What We Are Looking For

  • Minimum of 12 years practicing risk assessment and applying Canadian risk assessment protocols
  • M.Sc., M.Eng., or Ph.D. in toxicology, biology, applied chemistry, environmental science, environmental engineering, or related discipline(s)
  • Eligibility or current Professional designation in a relevant association
  • Comprehensive understanding and experience using federal and provincial guidelines and risk assessment frameworks
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to lead and mentor project teams

Qualifications

**Job description :**

Do you have systems engineering experience, have you worked in aircraft systems safety and reliability engineering and would you like to progress and develop new skills? Then this job is for you!

The A220 commercial aircraft Programme is looking for Safety and Reliability Engineering Specialist (f/m) to join our RMAS team based in Mirabel (Québec, Canada), where you will perform safety analysis, and review and prepare documentation, in the domain of Reliability, Maintainability and Safety (RMAS), interfacing with internal and external stakeholders.

You will be part of the RMAS team responsible for ensuring continued compliance to safety requirements and preparing Continuing Airworthiness Risk Assessments,

The team organization is established to promote cross-collaboration autonomously, supporting each other and learning collectively.

Your role as Safety and Reliability Engineering Specialist will be to carry out complex Safety and Reliability analyses, review and approve technical documentation, including safety analyses conducted by suppliers and propose solutions and participate in the modifications to designs.

**Your challenges: **

* Carry out complex analyses to ensure continued compliance to safety requirements,

* Support development of RMAS tools and mid to long term plans to support the Program needs,

* Update Safety and Reliability analyses and documents such as System and Aircraft Safety Assessment compliance reports or Particular Risk Analyses,

* Review and approve technical documentation, including safety analyses conducted by Suppliers,

* Propose solutions and participate in the modifications to designs,

* Work closely with A220 engineers, including Suppliers, to implement design changes and solve problems on complex systems,

* Prepare Continuing Airworthiness Risk Assessments,



**Your boarding pass:**

* You have a Bachelor or Master’s degree in Engineering,

* You have solid relevant experience, at least two years’ experience on development program(s),

* You have an advanced level of knowledge of aircraft Reliability and System Safety, across multiple aircraft systems,

* You are familiar with certification requirements and guidance, such as CFR 14/CS Part 25, AC , ARP 4761, etc.,

* You are familiar with RMAS processes and tools, and knowledgeable with respect to managing databases,

* Experience in setting requirements and developing RMAS processes and tools would be a strong asset,

* You are a team player and a person with initiative, a strong sense of responsibility and good judgment.
