Abstract Construction is looking for a competent OFA3/Advanced First Aid Labourer to work on our multifamily residential projects in the Greater Victoria/Langford area. You will work on site closely with the Site Foreman, as well as the Site Superintendent to complete a wide variety of construction related tasks. You must be reliable and capable of working, 5 days a week. The ideal candidate would have their own transportation or be able to be at the site for 7:00a.m. start time. Knowledge of safe work procedures is key, safety is our top priority. We have lots of work on the horizon and are looking to add to our team.
Responsibilities
First Aid (level 3), newly named Advanced First Aid designation for the site; CSO or NSCO designation also considered.
Unloading and loading construction materials, and moving them to appropriate areas
Report to site Foreman/Superintendent for tasks/concerns
Tending equipment such as compressors or pumps
Operate gas powered compactors/cut off saws/generators
Operate power tools including chop/table/circular saws, air nailers, hammer drills, etc
Leveling earth to fine grade specs using shovels and rakes
Remove construction waste and debris using shovels, rakes and wheelbarrows
Directing traffic at or near construction sites
Requirements
- Proven experience as skilled labourer
- Able to work in a team
- Able to communicate clearly; knowledge of English (spoken and written)
- Excellent balance and eye-hand coordination
- High school diploma or equivalent
- OFA Level 3/Advanced First Aid is a requirement
- Telehandler certification would be an asset
- Skidsteer experience would be an asset
- Don’t have telehandler or skidsteer training? We can provide this for the right candidate.

In order to meet increasing demand for our health and safety solutions, Worksite Safety is expanding our First Aid training services in locations throughout Southern Ontario. We are looking for a knowledgeable and experienced individual who is passionate about keeping people safe! The successful candidate will be a certified Red Cross Instructor with a love for training others, excellent public speaking skills, and experience with occupational health and safety to draw on.
This position could be full-time (40 hours/wk) or part-time, depending on the candidate, and will report to the Manager, Instructor-Led Training. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting First Aid CPR classes at Worksites GTA locations throughout the week and potentially on the weekends. Training Centre locations could include Mississauga, North York, Scarborough, Whitby, Vaughan and others.
Key Responsibilities:
As a First Aid Instructor your key responsibilities are:
- Teaching students through discussions, providing audio-visual presentations and hands-on equipment training
- Travelling to different Worksite Training Centres as scheduled, as well as client locations occasionally
- Preparing, administering and marking tests
- Conducting qualitative mask-fit testing to workers at client locations as needed
- Organizing, filing and submitting digital and hardcopy student records in a timely manner
- Participating in instructor training on an ongoing basis
In general:
- Representing Worksite Safety as an Industry Leader
- Sanitizing/disinfecting testing room & equipment
- Updating records, generating certificates and organizing paperwork
- Participating in team meetings and development workshops
First Aid Instructors are trained through Worksite to also conduct qualitative mask fit testing. The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Evaluating participants based on the requirements and guidelines provided by Worksite
- Educating participants on mask wearing, use, cleaning, etc.
The right candidate has the following qualifications and experience:
- 2+ years experience in an occupational health and safety role, adult education, or an emergency service-related field
- Certified as a First Aid Instructor with Red Cross
- Experience delivering First Aid training in a classroom setting
- Mask Fit Testing experience is an asset but not required
- Self-starter who can work independently, while also contributing to a team
- Strong communication skills
- Valid Ontario Driver Licence - travel is required for this position
- Able to legally work in Canada

Cintas is seeking a Sales Representative to focus on new business-to-business account development in our First Aid and Safety Division. Responsibilities include prospecting, cold calling, setting appointments with prospects, presenting programs and meeting a sales quota. Sales Representatives will also transport samples of products for presentations. Cintas provides a thorough sales training program, including product knowledge, mentorship, sales process and business development strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Generating revenue and meeting sales targets
+ Developing and qualifying leads within respective territory to drive additional sales opportunities through cold-calling and lead generation campaigns
+ Gathering and utilizing business intelligence on prospects to support sales calls, product presentations and driving new business
