Salary Scale: $55,182 - $66,466 annualized salary plus benefits, both pro-rated to part-time status

Position Description:
The Health and Wellness Coach (21 hours per week) organizes health promotion programs to assist clients to increase control over their health, promotes wellness and healthy lifestyles and builds a sense of community.
The Health and Wellness Coach works closely with a variety of populations to provide comprehensive health promotion programs (workshops, groups, individual) in suitable locations and on relevant topics of interest with an emphasis on Chronic Disease Prevention and Management. The Health and Wellness Coach acts as a health promotion resource for the community and for the Centre's staff regarding inter disciplinary client care issues and liaises with community agencies/organizations who provide health.
Reporting Relationship:
As an employee of the Sandy Hill Community Health Centre, the incumbent is responsible to the Director of Integrated Health Services and through them to the Executive Director.
Requirements
Skills, Education and Experience:
Requirements for this position include:
Education and Language
- A Bachelor’s degree in Health, Social Sciences or a related discipline
- Under the Centre’s designation to provide French Language Services:
- French (oral expression): Advanced
- French (oral comprehension): Advanced +
- French (reading comprehension): Intermediate +
- Fluency in English, both oral and written
Professional Experience
- A minimum four years professional experience with progressive responsibility in a community health setting
- Experience in leading projects and/or groups
- Experience in needs assessment, program development, implementation and evaluation
- Two to four years front line client experience developing and providing health promotion services and programs in a community health setting
- Experience working with a broad range of populations, including: youth, street-involved people, people living with mental health challenges and/or substance use disorder, racialized and newcomer communities and people experiencing significant barriers to access care
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong administrative and organizational skills
- Strong communications skills
- Strong leadership and facilitation skills
- Demonstrated ability to exercise strong decision-making skills and deal with unpredictable situations

Conditions of Employment:

Qualifications:

- Certified Personal Trainer (YMCA Personal Trainer, CSEP – CPT, CanFitPro Personal Training Specialist, ISSA Personal Trainer) is considered an asset.
- Previous experience in a customer service role is preferred.
- Intermediate First Aid and CPR Level C is required.

Job description
The Chimo Family Wellness program is delivered in partnership between Chimo Youth Retreat and the Edmonton Region Child and Family Services. Using the Collaborative Service Delivery (CSD) model, the program provides a continuum of services to improve the outcomes for children, youth and families in Sherwood Park, Leduc and Fort Saskatchewan. The Family Wellness Coach builds and maintains safe, positive relationships with families, works cooperatively as part of the CSD team, works directly in the homes of families with CFS involvement, and completes all required administration functions.
The Family Wellness Coach will be responsible for providing the following services:
- In vivo family/parent support
- Second-line family stabilization, intervention, preservation
- Providing transportation for clients and supportive access through family time
- Therapeutic youth work including cultural programming and connection to their heritage
- Low ratio crisis intervention services
- All other duties as required to support a family to thrive and achieve healthy lifestyle
- Build positive relationships and work collaboratively with families, CFS staff and other stakeholders.
- Maintain effective cross-functional relationships with staff, colleagues, and partners.
- Work effectively with all Chimo Family Wellness staff and leadership.
- Coordination of additional services to support great outcomes for families.

Physical Requirements:
- You may be required to work day and evening shifts for your five-day rotation (Sunday through Thursday or Tuesday through Saturday). Flexibility is important when planning shifts with the families and caregivers, as well as to support your team.
- The work can be physically and mentally demanding, and requires the ability to carry car seats, lift children in/out of cars and car seats, etc.
- You must be able and prepared to physically interact with children in both indoor and outdoor settings.
- Outdoor engagements with children and families may occur in all seasons, with appropriate measures taken based on current weather conditions.
The successful candidate will possess and demonstrate:
- Critical thinking and creative problem solving as a means to provide high-quality services.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong facilitation, organizational and time management skills.

The Personal Trainer will provide fitness services to members, provide safe exercise prescription, support clients in meeting their fitness goals and role model customer service excellence at all times.

Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality individual and group personal training sessions for clients, taking into account client goals and abilities while ensuring safety and enjoyment of the client.
- Complete administrative duties related to clients; Get Active Questionnaire, waivers, Personal Training Tracking Log effectively and in a timely manner. Respond to client phone calls, messages and emails in a timely manner.
- Always offer high quality customer service when working with members, engage with members and clients, develop positive relationships and offer support. Work with them to help them reach their fitness goals.
- Prospect new clients as needed and promote the YMCA and Adult Fitness & Lifestyle services to patrons.
- Build and maintain a positive relationship with volunteers and colleagues at all levels of the organization.
Qualifications:
- Current personal training certification from an approved certifying body: CSEP-CPT, CanFitPro PTS, ISSA Personal Trainer, YMCA Personal Trainer
- Post-secondary education in a related field (Bachelor of Physical Education, NAIT-PFT) is considered an asset
- Standard First Aid and CPR-C
- Previous experience personal training is considered an asset

? Systèmes de haut niveau
On utilise des programmes de transformation structurés sur 12 et 36 semaines intégrant l’entraînement privé, des suivis BioSignature, de la nutrition personnalisée et du coaching basé sur les habitudes de vie.

Compensation:$6 - 73 hourly + commission
Responsibilities:Ton rôle
- Offrir un coaching privé 1:1 en entraînement, nutrition et habitudes de vie (idéalement jusqu'à au moins 30 séances/semaine, mais ce n'est pas un deal breaker)
- Suivre les résultats, ajuster les programmes et garantir des résultats remarquables dès les 1–2 premières semaines
- Participer activement à l’équipe : ateliers, idées, soutien — viens avec un esprit ouvert et l’envie d’apprendre nos systèmes éprouvés
- Représenter Elite Coaching avec professionnalisme — en personne, en ligne, et dans la communauté
Tu es un bon fit si…
- Certifié & expérimenté – Tu as une certification reconnue et au moins 1 an d’expérience en service à la clientèle
- Axé résultats & coachable – Tu appliques des méthodes éprouvées, tu cherches du feedback, et tu veux toujours t’améliorer
