As a Fixed Term Securities Paralegal you will play a key role managing legal and administrative aspects of the practice. You will be working closely with all members of the team to deliver exceptional legal services to our clients. Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Prepare general corporate and securities documents which include private placements, stock options, AGM's, prospectus, share exchange agreements, escrow agreements, reverse take-overs and others
  • SEDAR+, SEDI and BC Registry filings for reporting companies
  • Assist with completing and filing forms with TSX, TSXV, CSE and the securities commissions in each province and territory as required
  • Draft continuous disclosure documents (i.e. news releases, material change reports etc.)
  • Complete PPSA searches and registrations
  • Assist with preparing and filing of reports of exempt distribution
  • Assist with preparing and filing of interim and annual financial statements
  • Liaise with legal assistants, paralegals and other lawyers, and clients on file progress


Qualifications

  • Graduate of a Legal Administrative Assistant Program or Paralegal Program
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Hybrid LAA or Paralegal within Securities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications and familiarity with Excel
  • Excellent English, oral and written skills
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to work well under pressure
  • Able to manage multiple priorities while paying attention to details
  • Able to communicate with clients, lawyers and staff

Instructional Leadership Team

  • As a member of the Instructional Leadership Team (Instructional Developers) participate in the development of appropriate systems, procedures, and standards, and maintain and implement them
  • Chair Instructional team meetings as required
  • Assist Manager in the preparation of Program Reports and Program Funding Proposals
  • In collaboration with the Instructional Leadership team: (a) identify areas for program and curriculum development, and work to develop and improve the program curriculum and resources (b) identify common needs for professional development across the program, and plan and deliver professional development sessions
  • With the Manager, organize and implement professional development opportunities

  • In consultation with instructors and the Manager, purchase instructional resources and equipment, and organize and maintain the Resource Library, including books, authentic resources (maps, pamphlets, etc.), online resources within learning management system and MS Teams.
  • In consultation with facilitators and the Manager, organize instructional resources and equipment and organize and maintain online curriculum.
  • Schedule and deliver student program and portfolio orientations, and support instructors in the assessment process, including but not limited to, designing formative assessments, giving student feedback, writing report cards, conducting student interviews, and other related tasks
  • Plan and coordinate class scheduling for in person and online program delivery of blended program in collaboration with program and site manager.
  • As required, coordinate the work of volunteers/practicum students to enhance the learning experience for students/ clients.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Knowledge:

  • Working knowledge of language acquisition and immigrant settlement issues;
  • working knowledge of Canadian Language Benchmarks and PBLA
  • A demonstrated understanding of EDI concepts and frameworks.
  • Standard office programs including Microsoft Office Suite and learning management systems including Moodle
  • Standard First Aid Certificate

  • Integrate new students as they join the class in a way that is welcoming
  • Use the Canadian Language Benchmarks (CLBs) to inform planning
  • Identify achievable learning objectives relevant to students

  • Use current and appropriate media technology (e.g., MOODLE, Smart Board, Computer Lab)as a tool to support students language learning and/or real-life skills (e.g., computerliteracy, writing an email, reading a website)
  • Identify when a learner needs assistance and respond appropriately by making adaptationwithin the curriculum and the classroom. Refer students to appropriate internal or external resources in response to students needs
  • Use a variety of assessment tools and techniques appropriate for ongoing formative assessment in relation to the CLB descriptors for the four skill areas. Follow Language and Portfolio Based Language Assessment (PBLA) protocol in designing, delivering, recording, and reporting assessments as applicable
  • Manage students in the online MOODLE course and ensure students fully access the onlinecourse through training materials and peer mentoring

The MDM Bank Data Verification and Compliance Specialist (6-month fixed-term) will ensure the accuracy of vendor banking information through direct validation, collaboration, and data quality audits, while supporting broader MDM functions and driving process improvements.

Job Responsibilities
Confirming the accuracy of bank information submitted by internal requestors and external vendors. Performing outbound calls to validate information directly with vendors.
Collaborating with internal stakeholders and vendors to resolve inconsistencies.
Tracking and recording verified data, escalating issues as needed, and providing support across MDM functions as required.
Identifying data quality issues and opportunities for process improvement through regular audits and trend analysis.
Qualifications
1u20132 years of experience in data verification, banking, accounts payable, or a related field.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills; must be comfortable making cold calls and spending extended periods on the phone.
Excellent attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Office 365.
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
French would be considered as a strong asset.
