Your Role as Baker
As a Baker at COBS Bread you will lead our freshness commitment. Bakers start their days with an empty bakery but when they leave—it’s filled with the artisan bread and delicious treats for the community to enjoy. Right now, we are looking for personable Bakers to share their love of fresh bread with our loyal customers. No experience necessary- just the right attitude and a willingness to learn.
What Your Day Looks Like
- Work as part of a small team to bake each morning, following carefully crafted recipes
- Work alongside your team to keep the bakery clean, and contribute to a great customer experience
- Be responsible for reading production schedules and recipes, measuring and mixing ingredients, moulding and shaping dough, and processing everything through the ovens

Physical Requirements

Position Summary:
Under the direction of the On Call Supervisor, the Emergency After Hours (EAH) Worker is responsible for responding to all calls received by the Agency outside of normal office hours. The EAH Worker delivers a broad range of child welfare services including intake, assessment, and clinical intervention with children and their families. The EAH Worker is required to conduct investigations of abuse and neglect, offer crisis intervention services, provide emergency financial assistance, admit children to care, and ensure that children living either in their own home, or children in the care of the Agency, are safe and protected.
Knowledge and Skills Required:
- Be familiar with and provide services that comply with relevant legislation, ministry regulations / standards, and agency policies and procedures.
- Skilled in conducting intake, assessment, investigations, and clinical interventions.
- Complete required documentation in accordance with agency, ministry and legal standards.
- Collaborate with other staff, agencies and professionals in the provision of, and advocacy for, services to children and their families.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficient computer skills required.
Qualifications:
- Must be an Authorized Child Welfare Worker.
- Must possess S.S.W. diploma or B.S.W. / M.S.W. degree. Prefeferred, 2-3 years of experience in social work.
- Training in non-violent crisis intervention, suicide intervention, mental health first aid.
- Applicants with similar academic qualifications and related experience may be considered.
Required:
- Must possess a valid Class G Ontario Driver's Licence and have access to a reliable vehicle with OPCF6A Insurance endorsement and minimum of $1000 000.00 Liability.

Position Summary:
The incumbent is responsible for providing emergency service, responding to crisis situations and emergent safety and protection matters for children and families outside the regular day time office hours of Sandy Bay Child and Family Services Inc on the First Nations community of Sandy Bay. The After Hours (On Call) Worker will ensure the safety of children in the short term.
Some Duties include:
- Be available to respond to after-hours calls between the hours of 8:00 pm to 4:00am, Monday to Friday, weekends and holidays through phone call or field visit (fielding).
- Responds to all calls courteously and in a timely manner.
- Ensures all necessary information is gathered and documented as per standards.
- Ensures confidentiality of information being received and that of the caller.
- Ability to provide services that are in line with Federal and Provincial CFS legislation and standards and operate within SBCFS mandate.
- Assess situation and identify services required to ensure the safety of the children with the least disruption to the family unit.
- Will be responsible to create an intake on CFSIS (Child & Family Services Information System) on any new matters or significant situations as per standards and/or as directed by the main office supervisor or the intake/abuse unit.
- Will record call(s) in a detailed case recording.
- Must be knowledgeable of the Child and Family Services Information System/Intake Module (CFSIS/IM).
- Other duties as may be assigned by After Hours Supervisor.
Qualifications:
- S.W., B.A., or Child & Family Services Diploma and/or equivalent combination of education and training/experience in a related field of service.
- Minimum of two-years of experience working in a child welfare setting and/or a related field of study.
- Must have a valid Manitoba Drivers Licence, access to a vehicle and willing to travel. Will provide a current Drivers Abstract.
- Must pass Criminal Record Check, Vulnerable Sector Search, and Child Abuse Registry Check.
- Ability to speak and/or understand the Ojibway language would be an asset.
- Knowledge and respect of First Nations traditional culture and traditional philosophy.
