As a floating Youth Care Worker in SCP's transitional housing program your primary role is to provide trauma informed, strength based, relationship focused, and youth centred support to the residents of SCP's youth shelter (short term transitional housing) and peer homes (long term transitional housing) when regularly scheduled staff are not available. You will act as support in a front line capacity and will be responsible for youth engagement, crisis response, medication administration, youth supervision, youth advocacy, and community engagement. Before the end of your shift you are responsible for documenting all pertinent information and communicating pressing concerns.
Floating Youth Care Workers are expected to comply with industry standards and best practices while adhering to all SCP mandated approaches in the completion of their duties and fulfillment of their role. You may be scheduled at any Transitional Housing location as the need arises or may bounce between locations in a given shift.

The Community Outreach Worker (COW) will be working 1-1 with individuals focusing on promoting skill development and providing outreach services through the individual support of people out in the community. The COW will provide support to individuals for tasks such as: using public transportation, financial management, general household management, relationship building, community connections and supporting the development of ongoing supports. The COW may be reassigned to work in other programs, for which they are qualified, as needed.
SHIFTS:
35 hours/week - on a flexible schedule (including evenings and weekends), to accommodate the individuals being supported. May be required to work Statutory Holidays.

- various locations in the Tri-Cities and surrounding communities
QUALIFICATIONS:
Diploma in Human Services or Community Support Worker or equivalent
Class 5 Drivers License and required to use own vehicle
Community Care First Aid/CPR/NVCI, Food Safe Certificate
Maintain Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check clearance throughout employment
Knowledge and experience in the facilitation of the Person Centered Planning Process, positive behavioral support techniques, and skills based training
Knowledge and ability to use augmentative communication, strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to interact effectively with individuals and families
Experience assisting people with support needs related to developmental disabilities and/or adaptive functioning
Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends- This position requires BCGEU union membership

To operator:
- Mack Tractor – 18 spd Eaton fuller transmission with a Trail King float
- Able to load and unload the following equipment on the drop deck, excavators, dozers, wheel loaders and compaction equipment.
- Able to properly chain down the equipment as per MTO requirements
- Complete proper circle check at the begining of each day and at the end of each day
- Keep the float deck clean at all times
- Driver must use all truck routes when driving the Mack tractor
- When the equipment is loaded on the float tractor the gross weight is 63,000 kg
- Hourly rate of $29.00 - $ 31.00 +10% vac pay
