Senior Project Engineer - FOOD MANUFACTURING INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE MANDATORY Bringing a minimum of 5 - 10 years of FOOD MANUFACTURING INDUSTRY Project Engineering experience to manage and drive multiple projects in a food manufacturing setting. The Project Engineer must be familiar with and follow best practice Project Management methodologies. Recommend, manage, and implement efforts to streamline the organization's processes and establish best practices. Using his/her ability to organize and lead meetings (plan, facilitate, document, follow up) to accomplish objectives. Requirements: ** Lead major project initiatives in the food industry. The responsibilities would include identifying all equipment capabilities, utility & infrastructure requirements and developing Process Flow Diagrams and layout concepts. ** Lead Installation activities at client sites to ensure proper installation of all intended project designs. Manage contractors and enforce client safety measures. ** Support site start-up team and troubleshoot issues when they arise. If required, work with vender technicians to remediate issues. ** Assist with the development of Engineering Check-out, Equipment Acceptance Testing, Start-up/Validation documents. ** Develop and maintain project plans and coordinate project activities; track critical path milestones, accomplishments and results. Ensure that end-to-end project planning, risk identification, dependency tricking, issues identification / escalation, and change management are being managed appropriately utilizing best practice project management standards ** Working knowledge of FDA and USDA food equipment and design standards. ** Understanding food plant Good Manufacturing Processes (GMPs), area designations, clean design requirements and the impact to process and equipment layout designs. ** Build relationships with senior leaders and other Program/Project owners; Interact with, prepare materials for, and present to Senior Management as required ** Provide guidance to and mentor other team members ** Results orientated; ability to commit to and follow initiatives through to completion ** Able to work flexible hours and multi-task in a fast paced, dynamic, high-pressured environment - managing changing priorities and tight deadlines. Our Mississauga location is currently hiring for a Business Development Representative for our Food Testing Division . In this role one is expected to promote AGAT Laboratories’ entire portfolio of services with emphasis on Food Testing for Ontario clients.
The successful candidate will manage all aspects of the sales function in an efficient and effective manner. Additionally this opportunity is an integral part of providing “Service Beyond Analysis”, which includes total customer service management of a defined client portfolio, generating incremental sales to existing customers while increasing our overall customer count and revenue. The selected candidate will be involved in supporting the creation and execution of business plans that meet and exceed budget expectations.
What you will be doing:
- Solicit new business opportunities for AGAT Laboratories and identify sales opportunities to improve AGAT Laboratories’ position in the market.
- Maintain strong relationships we have with our current customer listing.
- Implement account and/or category specific sales and marketing initiatives.
- Manage business relationships with assigned accounts and generate new business in alignment with our objectives and values.
- Understand the customer centric approach of AGAT Laboratories and promote its virtues to develop long lasting business relationships.
- Support annual business and territory plans for assigned territories to achieve our annual budgeted sales objectives.
- Prepare category and business reviews and leverage insights to identify sales opportunities and improve our category position.

What you bring to the table:
- Post-secondary education in science, such as chemistry, geology, or engineering or in business is preferred.
- Experience in Food Testing would be considered a strong asset.
- Minimum 2+ years’ experience in outside sales.
- Professional, positive and outgoing demeanor with excellent relationship building skills.
- Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal communication skills required, fluency in French would be an asset.
- Ability to deliver clear and concise sales presentations.
- Strong analytical, planning, negotiation, and problem solving skills.
- Proficient with standard office computer technology including Microsoft Office.
- Ability to manage multiple and competing priorities.
- Unquestionable work ethic and ability to work both independently and within a team environment.
- Travel throughout GTA is required. Occasional travel outside of GTA may be required as well.
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.

Qualifications

- Proficiency in 3D design software (CREO is a strong asset); familiarity with AutoCAD

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS
Reporting to the Director of Data Science and Interdisciplinary Spectroscopy, the Chemometrics Specialist will collaborate with a diverse and talented team across various functions, including Software & UX, Product Management, AI, Electronics and Mechatronics, and our Rapid Experimentation and Analysis Lab.
IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL
- Develop and implement chemometric models for spectroscopic data analysis and interpretation
- Design, build, and optimize optical measurement equipment and systems
- Perform advanced calibration procedures for spectrometers, lasers, and related instrumentation
- Apply multivariate statistical methods to extract meaningful information from complex spectral datasets
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate analytical requirements into technical solutions
- Validate and maintain analytical methods to ensure accuracy and reliability
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to optical systems and data analysis
- Stay current with emerging technologies and methodologies in chemometrics and spectroscopy
- Independently manage multiple projects and priorities with minimal supervision
WERE LOOKING FOR
- Master's degree or PhD in Chemistry, Physics, Materials Science, Analytical Chemistry, or related field with focus on spectroscopy or optical measurement

Key Responsibilities:
Leadership
- Oversee and provide strategic leadership to the New Product Development Manager and the Quality Team.
- Empower the team by aligning departmental goals with corporate objectives and sharing the broader business strategy.
- Develop annual department objectives that integrate category strategy, product innovation, and quality improvements.

- Oversee the submission and maintenance of product patents and brand trademarks.
