Kingsmill Foods Company Limited is a rapidly growing beverage manufacturer located at 1399 Kennedy Rd, Toronto (Scarborough), Ontario. We are recruiting for a Production Manager (NOC Code 90010) who would like to work in a hands-on fast paced environment. This is a full time, permanent position, 40 hours/week, with an hourly wage of $52. This position requires frequent work on Saturdays, particularly from August to February time frame. As there is responsibility over 3 shifts, occasional afternoon and night shift is required.
Job Duties include:
- Management of production supervisors in 3 shift operation
- Manage 50-100 people
- Hands-on management to ensure that daily production requirements are met: safety, quality, environment, procedures and production output
- Develop strategies and implementation plans to improve all aspects of production, with a focus on Lean Manufacturing tools
- Review progress versus plans and key metrics
- Training of Lean Manufacturing tools
- Train supervisors to develop detailed knowledge of equipment in factory (canning, single serve pouches, bags and bottles). This is a critical component of the position.
- Assist in troubleshooting issues in production, including equipment (canning, single serve pouches, bags and bottles), materials, personnel.
- Lead all HR aspects, including organizational structure, hiring, promotion and discipline
Required skills include:
- 5 to 10 years experience managing employees in the food, beverage, cosmetic or pharmaceutical industries
- 2 years experience in Lean Manufacturing implementation or sustenance
- Detailed knowledge of powder packaging (canning, single serve pouches and bags) and powder blending built over at least 2 years experience with these equipment
- Detailed knowledge of liquid processing (including pasteurization) and packaging equipment (bottles) built over at least 2 years experience with these equipment
- Experience in training supervisors how to trouble shoot powder and liquid packaging equipment
- Knowledge of Labour Relations
- Knowledge of CIP (Clean in Place) and SIP (Sanitizing in Place) Systems
- Knowledge of Preventative Maintenance of machinery and equipment
- Exposure to Safety, GMP, Quality, Maintenance and Productivity metrics
- Bachelor Diploma in Engineering

Responsibilities / Environment:
• Working in a cool, refrigerated environment, with sporadic to frequent exposure to extreme cold (-
20°ree;C).
• Position includes the following: Operating filling machine, sealer, flattener, and/or packaging
machinery
• Performing general physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as lifting, carrying, stooping, and pushing carts of the product (some warehouse and advanced production machinery).
• Working around raw beef, chicken, or other similar raw materials and odors.
• Adhering to all GMP’s (Good Manufacturing Practices), SOP’s (Standard Operating Procedures), SSOP’s
(Standard Sanitation Operating Procedures), in addition to all other food safety/quality assurance audits to meet government/third-party auditors and company regulations.
• Ensuring product conforms to specifications.
• Maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work area.
• Wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and perform duties in a safe manner.
• Production employees are routinely required to perform a variety of tasks that require manual material handling and the use of hand tools, machinery, and equipment.
• Performing tasks associated with general sanitation, including scrub, scrape and wash all equipment and the production room

- Grade 10 education or equivalent (required)
- Minimum 1 year of MIG welding experience
- Previous production experience preferred
- Mechanical aptitude
- Able to meet physical demands of the job
