Job Description
**Title: Food Scientist**
**Responsibilities:**
- Develop new formulations to expand MQED product offering, meeting target costs and timeline.
- Business development of Projects from Ideation to Product commercialization for emerging partner clients of the company: Sourcing of new ingredients, developing prototypes, creating specifications and escalating/validating formula in manufacturing facility.
- Lead or assist in the development of “R&D - Quality Improvement” by research ways to improve testing, preservation, packaging, and manufacturing methods.
- Lead the R&D efforts and engage the stakeholders of the company.
- Participate in the identification of new manufacturing equipment required for the launching of new products.
- Delivers and maintain specifications (Ingredient, Product and Process Specifications).
- Communicates professionally to all departments, clients and suppliers. Prepare information and present power point presentations to internal stakeholders of the company.
- Maintains laboratory records and provides reports, statistical analysis, product information.
- Coordinates with the cross-functional team and external partners to build new product platforms to expand product offering.
- Lead and support product presentations on our latest product portfolio, effectively collaborating with cross-functional teams (Sales and Operations) to gather resources and deliver coherent and visually compelling content to customers.
- Engages and maintains technical expertise and skills by reading and attending industry conferences and activities, when possible.
- Supports other team members for the successful implementation of R&D projects
- Participates in special projects and other duties in line of company objectives
**Your skills/capabilities:**
- *Perform physicochemical analysis on raw materials, and products.*
- *Develop recipe and scale-up in facility through different processes (Fermentation/non-fermentation) and understands its application*
- Operate the Nutrition Facts software for US and Canada products.
- Troubleshoots and process improvement on fermentation recipes and procedures.
- Travel as required to co-packer facility.
- Develop sensory trials and train MQED personnel.
- Ensures compliance with all product safety, regulations, and quality requirements.
- Participate in all R&D Activities and meetings.
