# **Job Summary**
As a BI Engineer at Compass Digital, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the company's business intelligence solutions and data infrastructure. You will work closely with business and technical stakeholders from various teams to lead requirements gathering, build data pipelines, and create reports and dashboards to support data-driven decision-making within the organization. Summary
The Business Intelligence (BI) Lead will be responsible for owning and driving the BI strategy across Convoy, ensuring data-driven decision-making supports operational excellence and business growth. This role combines strategic leadership with hands-on expertise in data visualization, reporting, and infrastructure. Partnering closely with General Managers, the Transformation team, and functional leaders across sales, operations, procurement, and finance, the BI Lead will design and deliver analytics solutions that improve sales performance, optimize supply chain efficiency, and reduce costs. The incumbent will oversee the development and governance of data pipelines, integration from ERP and Salesforce systems, and the creation of real-time Tableau dashboards, ensuring accuracy, scalability, and compliance with Canadian and U.S. data regulations. Acting as both a strategic advisor and technical expert, the BI Lead will champion data literacy, train leaders on BI tools, and foster cross-company collaboration to align BI initiatives with business goals. This role requires a balance of technical proficiency, strong communication, and the ability to lead independently in a fast-paced, distribution-focused environment.
Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategy
- Champion and take full ownership of Business Intelligence initiatives, providing strategic leadership and direction

We are seeking a Business Intelligence Engineer , a technical role within the Business Intelligence Enterprise Reporting team, for a highly motivated and experiences BI professional. You will contribute to all aspects of advanced analytics by scoping, analyzing, developing, automating, enhancing, and validating BI reporting, analytics, and dashboard solutions – delivered both creatively and efficiently.
What will you be doing?
- Perform detailed data analysis, validation, report testing to identify data quality and reporting issues.
- Monitor report events and subscriptions following EDW data load completion.
- Manage report user access and privileges.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to capture and validate reporting requirements.
- Analyze business needs and design, develop, and implement BI solutions to meet those needs.
- Translate business requirements into details technical specifications for BI/report developers.
- Contribute to the development of data marts, reports, and dashboards on the Business Insights platform powered by MicroStrategy.
- Communicate progress, milestones, challenges, and escalate issues as needed.
- Develop deep knowledge of goeasy’s data by integrating diverse datasets, identifying key KPIs, and delivering insights to support business decisions.
- Create ad-hoc queries and reports and provide ongoing analytical support.
- Support self-service reporting and resolve data/reporting issued promptly to maintain a stable BI environment.
- Work closely with BI and Data Solutions Architects, as well as Data and BI Engineers, to ensure adherence to development and deployment standards.
What experience do you have?
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on business reporting experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, Computer Engineering, or a related IT field (preferred).
- At least 3 years of experience with BI tools such as MicroStrategy, Power BI, or Tableau.
- Minimum 2 years of experience with SQL Server or similar relational database systems.
- Proven experience developing reports using documents, grids, graphs, and dashboards in BI environments.
- Intermediate SQL skills for building, debugging, and optimizing queries.
- Strong technical aptitude and analytical thinking.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to identify and utilize the right data to address business problems.

and optimize supply chain performance. This hybrid role combines business intelligence, strategic consulting,

Primary Responsibilities:
