We're a stable, mid-sized accounting firm in Montreal looking for a US CROSS BORDER TAX ACCOUNTANT who wants to keep their technical edge without sacrificing evenings and weekends.

What you'll do:
Prepare US tax returns (1040, 1120, 1065, 1041) for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and trusts, including investment holding companies
Depending on preference: focus on preparation or manage files from start to finish, including client contact
Collaborate with Canadian tax colleagues on cross-border files
Participate in occasional compilation engagements and financial statement prep
Who you are:
US CPA (or 5+ years in US tax in a firm)
3–5 years of experience preparing US tax returns for multiple entity types
Familiarity with Canadian tax is a plus but not required
Organized, independent, and team-oriented

Key Responsibilities
Prepare and file VAT returns and related documentation for clients.
Supervise and mentor junior team members.
Manage a portfolio of clients, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
Draft and refine internal procedures and processes.
Assist with VAT advisory engagements to support client needs.
Qualifications
Minimum two years’ of work experience in this sector
Qualified accountant (e.g., ACCA, ACA), with prior experience in VAT.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
Strong attention to detail, interpersonal skills, efficiency, and ability to work in teams.
