We are hiring full-time and part-time Airport Security Guards to join our team in Iqaluit, Nunavut. In this role, you will be responsible for patrols, access control, asset protection, and general security duties at the airport. Applicants must reside in Iqaluit, NU to be considered.
Responsibilities:
- Lock and unlock baggage doors airside
- Check all gates secure and locked with no damage
- Ensure all exits and doorways are clear of debris or snow
- Relieve other guards for breaks gate from other areas of the Airport
- Record plane traffic and other pertinent information
- Monitor groundside parking lot
- Respond to airport related emergency situations
- Control and monitor access to restricted area
- Provide assistance to airport tenants for security and operations related matters
- Complete reports by recording observations, information, occurrences, and surveillance activities.
Qualifications:
- Previous security experience is an asset
- Aviation security experience (Canadian Aviation Security Regulations, Aerodrome Security Measures) is an asset
- Possession of a valid RAIC (Restricted Area Identification Card) or ability to obtain and maintain a Transport Canada Security Clearance
- Class 5 driver's license
- WHMIS Certification
- Proficient with Microsoft office
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent Customer Service Skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently or in a team environment
- Willingness to submit to an alcohol and drug test
- Willingness to complete a criminal record check
- Must reside in Iqaluit, Nunavut

Reporting to the Municipal Services Foreman Municipal Services Truck Driver is responsible for the safe operation of municipal services vehicles in order to ensure the timely delivery of various municipal services to its customers.
For this permanent, full-time position, you must be reliable and punctual. This position involves working in some areas with obnoxious odors caused by sewage/waste.
The ideal candidate would have the following:
- Sufficient education/training to enable to the employee to follow instructions. (Equivalent to Grade 10)
- The candidate must be willing to work weekends and extra hours to complete delivery schedules.
- Class 3 Driver’s Licence with Air Brake Endorsement
- Previous experience operating heavy equipment preferred
- Must have the ability to follow instructions, perform duties safely and quickly
- Ability to work under time constraints and within a team atmosphere.
- Previous experience working in a Municipality

Sous la responsabilité du contremaître des services municipaux, la personne au poste de chauffeur de camion pour les services municipaux est responsable de l’utilisation sécuritaire des véhicules des services municipaux afin d’assurer la prestation de divers services municipaux à ses clients selon les délais impartis.
Pour ce poste permanent à temps plein, on recherche une personne fiable et ponctuelle. Il faut aussi s’attendre à travailler dans certaines zones où règnent des odeurs nauséabondes causées par des eaux usées et des déchets.
La personne recherchée doit répondre aux exigences suivantes :
- Avoir un niveau d’études/de formation suffisant qui lui permette de suivre des instructions (équivalent d’une dixième année).
- Être disposé(e) à travailler les fins de semaine et à effectuer des heures supplémentaires pour remplir l’horaire de prestation de service.
- Avoir un permis de conduire de classe 3 avec mention de freinage pneumatique.
- Avoir une expérience préalable de conduite d’équipement lourd préférée.
- Avoir la capacité de suivre des instructions, d’effectuer des tâches en toute sécurité et rapidement.
- Avoir la capacité de respecter des délais serrés et de travailler en équipe.
- Avoir une expérience de travail antérieure dans le milieu municipal.
