ABOUT THE ROLE

This position reports to the Director, IT Application Solutions and Development and joins the Product Management Team comprising Product Implementation Managers, Solution Architects, and Functional Analysts. Functional Analysts are primarily responsible for translating business requirements into technical implementations in collaboration with IT and project teams, and for supporting the business areas in the implementation and operational use of IT business applications. The scope of support will extend to Finance, Membership, Licensing, and Royalty Services and Operations. This role utilizes consulting, business knowledge, and functional expertise to effectively integrate technology into the business environment to achieve expected results.

WHAT YOU’LL DO / KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Business Initiative Planning and Strategy: Understand business strategy and objectives to a degree where documentation can be created for IT deliverables (e.g., application roadmaps, functional specifications).
  • Project Execution and Operational Support: Act as liaison with business to troubleshoot, investigate, and solve software problems, and design/configure necessary product modifications to satisfy customer requirements.
  • Provide consulting services with a focus on business areas and processes and the software applications used by those areas.
  • Prepare deliverables to support the development and deployment of a technical solution (e.g., functional specifications and configuration/customization guides).
  • Identify, define, and model application requirements for packaged applications and custom components.
  • Participate in design and configuration of applications supported by the IT application solutions team.
  • Work with Application Developers to provide orientation and information on the functional aspects of the solution.
  • Analyze business unit processes, challenges, and situations to recommend or create solutions.
  • Assist with identifying testing scenarios, requirements traceability, and master data setup in preparation for testing.
  • Conduct validation testing for application functionality and traceability to requirements.
  • Provide functional guidance and support to QA testers for testing and defect management.
  • Provide guidance and expertise for application implementation and post-implementation user support.
  • Ensure procedures remain accurate and consistent after implementation; propose enhancements as needed.
  • Share knowledge of functional design best practices and apply to project management methodologies.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING / QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field
  • At least 3–5 years of experience in a senior functional role
  • Strong background in Microsoft Azure and DataBricks development technologies
  • Business knowledge with a focus on financial applications and processes
  • Understanding of master data management, data integration, security concepts and management of security vulnerabilities
  • Knowledge of good documentation practices; capable of adopting and learning new tools and approaches
  • Configuration experience with an ERP application is an asset
  • Experience leveraging Microsoft and productivity tools (e.g., Project Server, JIRA)
  • Development background with SQL (MS SQL, Oracle, MySQL) preferred
  • Technical background with MS .Net, C#, SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, REST APIs, message queues, API gateways, Angular/Node JS, and Microsoft technologies including SharePoint, Project Server, Power BI, Azure DevOps
  • Ability to analyze problems and provide clear recommendations
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Collaborative experience with IT and business teams across multiple products and systems
  • Awareness of cultural differences and sensitivity
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills for technical and non-technical audiences

**Overview**
Panasonic Canada Inc. is currently looking to hire for the position of **SAP Functional Analyst/FICO.**
Analyzes, designs, develops, tests, documents, and implements technology solutions to support Panasonic's IT strategy and business objectives and provides cost benefits. Leads, and manages the development of new applications and in support of existing systems. Manages projects of medium to large size including development and management of project plans, scope, budget, resources assigned to the project as well as various communications with project team, steering committee, and stakeholders.
Ensures projects meet the defined requirements including monitoring of all issues and resolutions. Coordinates the analysis and design of automated solutions to business problems or application software which directly affects the availability, functionality and reliability of products and systems to end users.
Collaborates with Process owners, subject matter experts and other business users in order to fully understand departmental/corporate objectives, to gather business and functional requirements as they relate to new development projects or system enhancements and to recommend and/or implement process changes to help achieve their goals.
This is a full-time position.
This position is hybrid. Any office-based work will be performed from our Mississauga office at Ambler Drive.
**Responsibilities**
+ **Process Design and Application Architecture** - Performs routine to complex analysis and design for various business applications and business critical functions. Gathers, analyzes, and prioritizes user requirements. Develops graphical user interface design using data models, functional flow diagrams and other documentation as part of the business and system analysis and design as defined by departmental standards and methodologies. Drives concepts and requirements into a design that meets a defined business need. Performs cost benefit analysis and identifies areas of risk.
Creates functional and technical specifications based on defined business rules. Facilitates walkthroughs to confirm business requirements and functional specifications. Works collaboratively with other information technology departments to determine an optimal system design. Prepares status reports as required, verifies design specifications, or project objectives, and makes course corrections as required. Maintains current knowledge of PCI's business applications both within functional and technical areas. Research technological advances and resources to provide appropriate recommendations.
+ **Project Management -** Prepares project plan, identifies impact of scope changes, areas of risk and prepares and presents project planning efforts on a medium to large size projects. Prioritizes, assigns, and re-assigns work to staff assigned to the project. Resolves conflicts to advance the project. Participates in the performance evaluation of project team members upon project closure.
Prepares and presents project deliverables to the appropriate management for project review throughout the development life cycle. Prepares appropriate feasibility studies and recommendations. Tracks activities, prioritizes task, and escalates and addresses issues to resolution. Ensures successful project implementation within budget and time constraints. + **Software Testing and Documentation -** Creates and executes applicable unit and system integration testing. Creates test scripts to automate testing where possible. Performs tests in accordance with the test plans created by the testing lead. Verifies and ensures that tests meet the functional and business requirements. Develops usage scenarios and use cases.
Highlights and identifies process and system changes to expert users to facilitate acceptance testing. Develops user documentation for on-going support. Creates and develops training documentation within a given project. Develops and delivers user training as required. Assesses training needs and adapts materials to audience. Collects and analyzes participant feedback to determine training success, and to improve training content and delivery. Provides feedback to all parties.
+ **Problem Management -** Responds in a timely and effective manner to resolve business application problems/incidents. Analyzes problems, identifies root cause, and prepares appropriate solutions. Develops workarounds, prepares work process/application documentation and coordinates with other IT staff to implement effective resolution.
**Qualifications**
+ BA or BS in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business or another related field. Minimum 10 years of information technology/business process analysis experience with SAP Financial business application experience. Demonstrated project management skills required.
+ Must be proficient in the functional areas of SAP applications in Finance areas preferably in SAP S/4 HANA. Proficient in business process analysis, functional knowledge and configuration experience required in FICO SAP application area. SAP Certification for FICO is required. Certified PMP is an asset. Must be proficient in managing and leading SAP projects. Proficiency required in Word, Excel, MS Project and VISIO.
+ Requires the incumbent to devise unique and complex solutions creating alternatives and options to meet business needs and make recommendations for approvals. This role is designed to be part of the newly defined SAP Centre of Excellence (CoE) organization at BRP. This group will consist of both business process and technical experts across multiple domains, who will provide support and continuous improvement to enable the business and wider organization to achieve its goals and future growth objectives. YOU'LL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO:

  • Understand BRP business model to optimally use your technical skills and align the SAP solutions with its goal and needs.

  • Provide knowledge in the SAP eWM to respond to business requirements, and position potential solutions.

  • Develop relationships with key business users to drive the effectiveness of the SAP solution.

  • Support the business and PMO in demand management and project prioritization.

  • Participate in the elaboration of projects/implementations and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Work with Application Management Services (AMS) teams and other partners, and contribute toward continuous improvement and application maintenance activities.

  • Develop and provide standards and best practices to the PMO and support teams for project delivery and application maintenance.

  • Participate in relevant implementations and continuous improvement initiatives, including design, configuration, testing and implementation.

  • Ensure specifications are matching business requirements. Supervise and guide key resources for the development and testing phases.

  • Develops functional specifications and design specifications.

  • Support peer review of design standards and specifications.

  • Acquire knowledge of emerging functionality / solutions, and contribute to their successful implementation within the businesses, where appropriate.

  • Govern the transition and handoff from the project delivery team to the application support team.

  • Support the data analytics team in providing data domain expertise in developing business intelligence reports.

  • Assist with the resolution of complex application support and maintenance issues, where relevant.

  • Contribute to decisions on product, tool, and method selection, providing input on industry trends.

  • Supports the business and SAP Business Advisers / Partners.

  • Support organizational change management functions in the development and delivery of end user training, change impact assessments and job aids.

YOU’LL THRIVE IN THIS ROLE IF YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND QUALITIES:

  • University degree or equivalent in experience.

  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on SAP configuration experience in SAP eWM and preferably one end to end implementation cycle in an SAP implementation or a roll out project.

  • Good understanding of EWM’s integration with other SAP modules especially with TM,SD and MM.

  • Having knowledge of SAP LE module is an asset but not mandatory.

  • Base knowledge of warehouse management, warehouse organization structure, putaway strategies, picking strategies, wave management, physical inventory, integration with RF devices (mobile data entry).

  • Demonstrate expertise in SAP Extended Warehouse Management functionalities and capable of designing and implementing SAP best practices.

  • Perform an active role in internal and external brainstorming and management meetings to bring our technical solutions to the next level.

  • Experience working with third-party integrations with SAP,good understanding of EDI and IDOC messages.

  • Understanding of S4 HANA processes.

  • Experience with cutover, go-live and data migration.
