1. Position Summary and Job Magnitude

The Maintenance Services Representative must ensure that the entire building is in safe and good working order at all times. This includes a combination of preventative maintenance tasks, daily repair requisitions, and supporting outside contractors when on site.

2. Essential Functions and Basic Duties

Preventative maintenance is necessary for all aspects of keeping the building running smoothly. Some of the responsibilities involved with this position include but are not limited to:

• Daily checks of the building and equipment
• Greasing bearings, replacing filters and belts on equipment as per maintenance schedules
• Check utility meters on daily basis to monitor consumption.
• Check standpipes and fire panel on a daily basis
• Check all fire extinguishers are at their proper levels and intact
• Keep detailed records of all maintenance and inspections
• Any other preventative maintenance as required

Daily repair requisitions are to be completed in a timely fashion to ensure proper building operation and customer satisfaction. Tasks can include, but are not limited to:

• Replacing or repairing burnt out lights and fixtures
• Moving furniture and appliances
• Basic plumbing repairs and replacements, including unclogging toilets
• Fixing damaged sections of drywall
• Maintaining interior finishes, including vinyl wall coverings and painting
• General janitorial tasks such as garbage collection and spill cleanups
• Keep detailed records of all work
• Any other maintenance or janitorial duties as required or asked to perform

The maintenance person’s role can be strenuous and requires the individual to be in good physical condition. Physical demands include:

• Climbing ladders
• Moving appliances and furniture
• Repetitive lifting of up to 60lbs
• Cardio vascular endurance for tasks such as snow removal and climbing stairs
• Working in confined spaces, including lying on their side or working on their knees for up to 30 minute.
• Ability to grip and manipulate basic hand tools and parts
• Hand dexterity and fine motor skills for working with small parts
• Repetitive reaching or working above their head
• Majority of the working day spent standing conducting repairs and maintenance

Health & Safety

• Work in the manner and with the protective devices, measures and procedures required by the OHSA, regulations, and Campus Living Centres (e.g. wearing safety shoes, confining hair, jewelry, or loose clothing around moving parts, etc.).
• Online training modules and in-person training must be completed before starting regular duties.
• WHMIS 2015 and GHS system, and standard operating procedures training must be completed prior to beginning regular duties.

3. Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma, Recognized College Diploma preferred

Skills/Abilities:

• Knowledge of commercial electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems
• Must be competent with general physical plant repairs
• Must possess positive attitude towards work and learning
• Must be able to handle multiple projects at once

The Calgary TELUS Convention Centre is looking to hire a full-time Maintenance Services Worker reporting to the Senior Manager, Building Services. The Maintenance Services Worker is responsible for performing general maintenance in the CTCC, assisting clients with requirements for tradeshows, and conventions, and upholding CTCC standards for quality and OH&S protocols.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Maintain the interior and exterior of the CTCC buildings, which would include, but is not limited to, repairing damage to meeting rooms, public areas and offices including patching walls, re-staining woodwork, replacing and repairing wallpaper, painting, repairing and replacement of floor and ceiling tiles, maintenance of electrical floor boxes, operable wall panels & tracks, aerial work platforms, forklifts and snow removal equipment, repairing of doors, mouldings and windows, and removing graffiti from exteriors walls.

• Repair furniture and equipment as required.

• Set up and teardown risers and steps attached to the risers.

• Perform and/or assist contractors with internal renovations.

• Deliver client freight from the loading dock to the appropriate meeting rooms and pick up any freight remaining in the meeting rooms at the end of the function and deliver it back to the loading dock.

• Transport internal freight as required.

• Maintain shop and equipment to ensure good working conditions.

• Operate the forklift to move freight within the facility.

• Oversee and enforce company standards on contractors for quality, conduct, occupational health and safety protocols.

• Operating aerial work platform and ensuring rigging is installed according to regulations.

• Utilize Momentus to ensure required work orders and tasks are identified and actioned and the client is invoiced accordingly for respective services and materials.

• Snow removal (using a shovel &/or snow removal equipment) from the loading docks, sidewalks around both buildings and the patio in the south building.

• Work on the loading dock performing shipping and receiving services and maintaining the loading docks as required.

• Assist with move-in and move-out of bands and tradeshow companies.

• Perform pin spotlight adjustments.

• Attend pre-convention and other meetings as required.

• Work flexible and overtime hours as required.

• Assist other departments as required.

• Physically fit to have the ability to lift up to 60 lbs. (equipment) and push/pull a maximum of 444 lbs.

Duties and responsibilities:

Aircraft/IFE Maintenance and Support

Identifying, dismantling, inspecting, testing and repairing aircraft parts, aircraft engines and motors, aircraft electrical systems, aircraft frames and equipment to restore functional acceptance,

Inspecting and installing electrical circuits which may require the removal and replacement/installation of defective line replaceable modules and/or cabling

Performing troubleshooting and defect rectification, built-in test (BIT) and manual test on aircraft systems by using the electronic testing equipment or other specialised testing apparatus

Rectifying defects, such as defects in the aircraft oxygen system components, in an aircraft to meet approved maintenance requirements

Attending to issues, such as issues in assembling parts in aircraft frame, which can affect airworthy and safe operation of an aircraft

Performing routine pre-flight line maintenance checks and inspections of engines, frames and mechanical systems for airline clients.

Maintains records/ Documentation

Maintaining records/ Documentation for all the inspections, repairments, replacements, modifications, overhauls, and maintenance performed by using computer and bar-coding equipment.

Ensuring the maintenance release contains a certification which documented the details of the work carried out including the identity of organisation and signatory supervise

Other Duties and Responsibilities

Responding to defects found during inspections and those recorded by flight crew in aircraft technical log.

Reading engineering drawings and ensure all repairs are in accordance with manufacturers instructions for the Type Certificate

Testing and operating airline communications equipment.

Assisting in tracking the spares inventory.

Preparing parts which have been received

Performing other reasonable related duties as assigned by immediate supervisor or upper management.

The applicant must have;

Holds AQF Certificate IV in aeroskills or trade certificate in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering or equivalent

Minimum 5 years experience in aircraft maintenance as a licencesed aircraft maintenance engineer

Appropriate academic/technical qualifications and experience to satisfy regulatory licensing, CASA/EASA

Ability to obtain a red ASIC

Ability to pass extensive security and background checks.

License requirements

To be eligible for the LAME/MSR role you must possess, or qualify to possess, an Unrestricted CASA Licence Cat B1 with B737, A320, A330, B777, B787, A380, B747-400, or A350 Type Ratings.

Willing to travel both internationally and domestically, up to 25 % of time

Hold a valid driver's license

Must be able to work any shift, weekends and holidays.

The Fire and Life Safety Manager is responsible for overseeing all fire suppression and detection systems within facilities are operational and meet all Federal regulations, NFPA standards, ULC S536 Inspection and Testing of Fire Alarm Systems Canadian Standards Association, CSA-C282 Emergency Power Supply for Buildings, and Fire Marshal Directives FMD 4004, FMD 4006.
