The Job at a Glance
The Market Development Manager for HVAC will play a pivotal role in advancing the market presence for Parts Town Canada by identifying industry needs and developing strategies to effectively position the company. This role involves conducting market assessments to gain insights into customer requirements and identifying key industry players including associations, distributors, competitors, manufacturers. The manager will collaborate with the internal HVAC team and formulate a comprehensive plan in partnership with the sales team. Additionally, the incumbent will collaborate closely with sales teams to manage and enhance customer partnerships, leveraging extensive product knowledge and industry insights to deliver tailored solutions that maximize value.
A Typical Day
- Market Development & Analysis: Conducts market research and analysis to identify market size, growth potential, customer segments, and competitive dynamics with an objective to expand the customer base and increase revenue.
- Strategy Formulation: Develops and proposes strategies for entering new markets or segments and launching new products or services. Defines target markets, value propositions, positioning, pricing, distribution channels, and promotional tactics. Estimates market potential, revenue goals, costs, risks, and ROI.
- Execution & Coordination: Oversees the implementation of market strategies, collaborating with sales, marketing, product development, and other teams. Provides guidance and resources to ensure successful execution of plans.
- Performance Measurement & Evaluation: Tracks and evaluates the success of market development initiatives. Measures key metrics such as market share, customer acquisition, revenue, and customer satisfaction. Analyzes feedback to refine strategies and propose new initiatives. Deliver on annual growth targets and contribution objectives.
- Relationship Building: Develops relationships with HVAC industry stakeholders, including manufacturers, associations, and publications. Strengthens the value proposition and enhances the customer experience by understanding market trends and customer needs.
- Collaboration & Communication: Works closely with the company-wide HVAC team and the sales team to identify, cultivate, and build new customer partnerships. Collaborates with marketing, e-commerce, and customer experience teams to share customer insights and develops proactive sales tools.
- Training & Development: Leads the development of training content for sales teams, enhancing their understanding of HVAC industry trends and customer needs. Continuously develops tools and resources to educate team members and customers.
To Land This Opportunity
- You have a post-Secondary degree or diploma in Business, Marketing, HVAC, or a related field
- You have a minimum 3 years of experience in market development, business development, or sales (within the HVAC industry preferred)
- You have strong analytical skills with the ability to conduct market research, interpret data, and develop strategic recommendations
- You have excellent communication, relationship management, and negotiation skills
- You have the ability to develop and execute strategic plans, manage large accounts, and drive business growth
- You are organized, proactive, and passionate about customer relations and enhancing the customer experience
- You possess familiarity with HVAC industry trends, market dynamics, and regulatory environments
- Bonus if you are proficient in both English and French which is advantageous particularly for engagements in Quebec and Atlantic regions
- You have the ability to travel mostly in Southern Ontario by car up to 30% of the time but also by air to visit our US offices.

We are launching a new initiative to deepen our engagement with high-potential business communities across Canada. We are currently seeking a Growth Market Development Associate for a 12-week project. This is a remote position; however, the candidate must be located in the Greater Toronto Area, as occasional in-person meetings or field outreach activities within the GTA may be required.
What will you do?
Reporting to the Senior VP, Sales and the VP, Digital, you will help grow CFIB’s reach within a specific business community; such as Spanish or Indian-speaking entrepreneurs or the Canadian manufacturing sector.
This hybrid role will use digital and social engagement to introduce CFIB’s advocacy, savings, and support services to new audiences. The candidate will then use our proven sales engagement model via phone, video, or in person to secure new members and growth.
Sales and Member Acquisition (60%)
- Identify and reach out to prospective small business owners in your target segment via phone, email, and networking.
