As a Hardware Engineer, you will play a key role in a new developmental project focused on a naval/shipboard communications system for the Royal Canadian Navy’s fleet of patrol ships. You will be involved in the design, development, and integration of electronics and electrical systems. From concept to production, you will drive full-cycle product development efforts.
Responsibilities
- Analyze customer requirements and translate needs into robust hardware solutions.
- Create and optimize hardware designs and system architecture that meet performance, reliability, and regulatory standards.
- Leverage simulation tools to build and validate verification test benches for complex digital and analog circuitry.
- Participate in design reviews, provide technical insight, and drive continuous improvement.
- Manage configuration control to ensure design integrity and traceability throughout development.
- Collaborate with manufacturing and quality assurance to ensure smooth transition from design to production.
- Integrate hardware systems into larger platforms, supporting lab testing and field deployment.
- Provide design leadership and guidance.
Essential Skills
- 8+ years of experience in digital and analog circuit design, simulation, and analysis (signal integrity, power integrity, thermal simulation).
- Involvement in architecture-level definition and system planning.
- Experience with high-speed design.
- Must hold a valid Secret clearance.

The role offers a hybrid work schedule with 2 days in-office on Tuesday and Wednesday.
