MISSION
The Mental Health Supervisor plays a pivotal role in overseeing and coordinating the delivery of high-quality clinical care within the organization. By implementing best practices and continually evaluating service delivery, the Supervisor helps to enhance the overall quality of care provided to patients, ensuring that the organization meets its commitment to excellence in services.
The Pod Group is partnering with this organization to place a strong, determined, and strategic leader to fulfill the role of the Mental Health Supervisor.
PRIORTIES
- Provide clinical supervision, consultation and training to therapists, group facilitators, and contracted staff to ensure exceptional clinical support services.
- Contribute to the delivery of support services through team building, excellent customer service, continuous quality improvement and risk management.
- Provide expertise on high-risk cases, including risk assessment and crisis intervention, as requested by staff.
- Monitor client intakes into the program to ensure every client has been provided with a high level of clinical service from the team.
- Determine the training and professional development needs of the team and develop/update program curriculum and tools for programs with team consultation.
- Support the implementation of the program’s strategic plans, direct and monitor clinical activities so that strategic goals and approved budgets are met.
- Ensure the clinical teams understanding of all clinical and administrative procedures and determine where the policies, procedures and protocols require updates or adjustments to ensure best practices are being adhered to.
- Respect the agency to maintain and strengthen collaborative relationships with community partners on various projects and initiatives as assigned.
- Facilitate and support scheduling, audits, performance management and quality monitoring of services.
- Maintain a high level of clinical competence, participate in professional/program development, clinical training opportunities and staff training.
- Stay informed about CRPO, OCSWSSW and other regulations and industry best practices through ongoing professional development.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
TALENTS & EXPERTISE
- A Bachelor's degree in Social Work or a relevant field. A Master's degree is considered an asset.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a supervisory or management role, with a strong ability to lead and motivate a team.
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on clinical treatment experience in a relevant healthcare setting.
- Current Standard First Aid, CPR and CPI certificate.
- Registration with the OCSWSSW or the CRPO.
- Supervisory experience in a Not-for-profit, unionized environment is a strong asset.
- Proven ability to lead by example, engage and mentor staff, and guide teams toward successful project completion and goal achievement with humility and efficiency.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong strategic planning, team building and facilitation skills.
- Change management experience is considered an asset.
- Flexible hours as needed, rotating on-call schedule.

Reporting Relationship
The Mental Health & Addictions Supervisor reports directly to the Health Services Department Manager.
Position Summary
The Mental Health & Addictions Supervisor will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day management, supervision and support of the clinical services and program staff of the Mental Health & Addictions Sector of the Health Services Department in accordance with the Mental Health (& Addictions) Policy and Procedures.
The Mental Health & Addictions Supervisor shall implement a culturally relevant case management system within a framework of person-centred and trauma-informed care for all clients utilizing the Mental Health & Addictions Sector Services.
The Mental Health & Addictions Supervisor shall work directly with the Health Services Department Manager providing support and advice to ensure services are responsive to the needs of the community.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Program Coordination
- Oversee and coordinate the Mental Health & Addictions program and services
- Incorporate and promote Anishnabek cultural values, beliefs and practices and Anishinabemowin into program delivery and include in management and administration of program
- Coordinate and monitor visiting clinicians and specialized services
- Work directly with the Health Services Department Manager in monitoring and assessing the Wellness Recovery Program (Methadone, Suboxone and Sublacade)
- Develop annual work plans for the Mental Health & Addictions program in consultation with program staff
- Ensure that clinical assessments are completed, and plans are developed to support clients within a framework of person-centered and trauma-informed care
- Ensure that there is a list of specialized services and treatment programs available to clients.
- Design and Implement aftercare supports for clients in collaboration with the Systems Navigator/Peer Support & Outreach Coordinator and Health Services Department Manager
- Facilitate and lead regular client intake meetings
- Review client files by following
a PSS chart audit requirements every three (3) months - Develop, implement and maintain crisis service protocols and assist in the development of policies and procedures relevant to MChigeeng First Nation and the Mental Health & Addictions Program
Support the coordination and planning of public education information sessions, workshops and meetings in relation to Mental Health & Addictions team
- Monitor program effectiveness of the Mental Health & Addictions Services and Programs and making recommendations for service improvements
Supervision & Administration
- Develop and implement annual workplans including required training & professional development for all staff
- Manage and supervise all staff of the Health & Addictions Program
- Facilitate regular program staff meetings
- Ensure program staff adhere to client documentation policies and procedures, including practicing strict confidentiality always
- Ensure the Mental Health Staff do not exceed the maximum caseload
- Assist in the recruitment and orientation of program staff; including creating new positions as required
- Reviews and approves program staff timesheets, overtime, etc., approves and monitors annual leaves, etc.
- Conduct annual employee performance appraisals for Mental Health & Addictions Program staff according to the MChigeeng First Nation Personnel Policy
- Deal with staff issues or concerns and provide disciplinary procedures for staff in consultation with the Health Services Department Manager
- Provide scheduled, informal and emergency opportunities for debriefing sessions and case consultation
- Prepare and monitor consultant contracts required for additional program delivery
Reports & Budgets
- Manage and monitor annual program budgets, in consultation with the Health Services Department Manager
- Prepare funding proposals based on needs of clients and community
- Conduct research and reviews of different models of therapy to support staff in services to clients
- Prepare and present quarterly reports to the Health Services Department Manager, Enaagdenjged and/or Chief & Council, as requested
Planning & Development
- Coordinate strategic planning activities for short & long-term program goals
- Quarterly reviews all program staff annual work plans
- Conducts annual Mental Health Policy & Procedure reviews
- Assist in revising and updating Mental Health Policy and Procedure manual with a contracted consultant
Communications
- Consult with Health Services Department Manager on Mental Health & Addictions Services programming
- Attend meetings internally in relation to mental health & addictions programs and services.
- Monitor participation of staff in internal and external committees and reporting to be presented to staff for review and consultation
- Advocate for Mental Health & Addictions services and programming
Qualifications & Requirements
Master of Social Work Degree with working experience in Mental Health Services
Bachelor of Social Work Degree with a minimum of 3 years direct experience in Mental Health Services
Minimum of 3 years Management and Supervision experience
Registered/able to register with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Services Workers
Must have program management, staff supervision and financial experience
Great communication and interpersonal skills and time management skills
Knowledge of MChigeeng First Nations challenges and aspirations
Other
- Must have knowledge and/or experience with the culture, history, and customs of the MChigeeng First Nation
- Understanding and fluency of Ojibwe is an asset
- Valid drivers license and access to vehicle

Reporting to the Plant Manager, the EHS Manager is responsible for managing plant safety and environmental programs to ensure a safe and accident-free work environment. Implements, oversees, and adapts policies and programs to improve the facility's environmental and safety performance and ensures compliance with current and future regulations and standards. Plans and / or delivers programs to train managers and employees in work site safety and environmental practices. Promotes safety by working with all departments to analyze the current situation and recommend safety improvements. You'll add value to this role by performing various functions including, but not limited to:- Responsible for all aspects of EHS, including OSHA, and environmental record keeping, safety audits, and accident investigations and identifying workplace hazards.
- Develop, evaluate, and maintain the department budget for the EHS area.

- Develop, deliver, and track participation in health and safety related training and OSHA related certifications.
