This role is based in our Markham, Ontario offices conveniently located near Highway 404 & 407. We are focused on team participation and commit to working a Full-Time schedule in our Markham office.

Who We Need:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and strategic Business Analyst with experience in Patient Engagement and Education to join our growing team. This role will be instrumental in understanding patient-centric workflows, analyzing business needs, and driving solutions that improve the healthcare experience for patients. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in healthcare or life sciences, with a deep understanding of patient engagement platforms, portals, apps, or digital tools.

What Youll Do:

• Gather, analyze, and document business and functional requirements related to patient engagement solutions.
• Collaborate with product managers, developers, designers, and QA teams to deliver patient-centered features and enhancements.
• Conduct stakeholder interviews and patient journey mapping to identify pain points and opportunities.
• Translate business needs into user stories, process flows, wireframes, and acceptance criteria.
• Evaluate and benchmark existing patient engagement tools (e.g., patient portals, mobile apps, reminder systems, telehealth platforms).
• Support system implementations, testing, training, and change management activities.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate engagement levels and suggest improvements.
• Stay updated on industry trends and regulatory requirements related to patient experience and digital health.

What Youll Need:

• Bachelors degree in Business or Health Information Systems, or a related field.
• 4+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, with at least 2 years focused on Patient Engagement and Education.
• Knowledge of healthcare workflows, patient portals, EHR/EMR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner), CRM tools, or engagement platforms.
• Experience working with HIPAA-compliant systems and understanding of data privacy in healthcare.
• Strong communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Ability to work cross-functionally with clinical, IT, and business teams.

Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Monitor entry points and control access to the healthcare facility, verifying credentials and authorizing entry for authorized personnel.
• Conduct regular patrols of the facility, including interior and exterior areas, to deter unauthorized access and identify potential security threats.
• Respond promptly to security incidents, including medical emergencies, disturbances, and safety hazards.
• Follow established protocols for emergency situations, such as lockdown procedures or evacuation drills, to ensure the safety of patients and staff.
• Interact with patients, visitors, and staff in a calm and respectful manner, resolving conflicts and addressing concerns to maintain a peaceful environment.
• Utilize effective de-escalation techniques to manage volatile situations and prevent escalation to violence.
• Monitor security cameras, alarm systems, and other surveillance equipment to detect suspicious activity and potential security breaches.
• Document all security-related incidents and observations accurately, completing incident reports and notifying appropriate personnel as necessary.
• Collaborate with other healthcare staff, including nurses, physicians, and administrative personnel, to address security concerns and coordinate responses to emergencies.
• Communicate effectively with external stakeholders, such as law enforcement agencies and emergency responders, to facilitate a coordinated approach to security incidents.

Requirements:

• Valid Security Guard License and First Aid/CPR certificate
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse individuals in a healthcare environment.
• Proven experience as a security guard or in a similar role, preferably in a healthcare or hospital setting.
• Excellent observational and problem-solving skills with the ability to remain calm and composed under pressure.
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to walk/stand 12-hour shifts providing proactive and reactive security patrols and response to incidents.
• Ability to complete accurate and detailed report writing, multi-task and work in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
• Police Foundations, Community Justice Services or Law Enforcement Diploma would be an asset.
• Flexibility to work continental shifts, including weekends, and holidays.
