About the Role
iCapital is looking for an Assistant Vice President to join the Fund Finance team. This role will work on and manage an accounting team that services a fast-growing sector of the business. This position will be responsible for overseeing the accounting and investor reporting for hedge fund of funds, private capital fund of funds, and mutual fund trusts (the "funds") in conjunction with third-party administrators. This individual will manage all fund accounting and financial reporting to investors, including capital activity, partner capital statements, annual audited financials, and tax deliverables. Specifically, this individual will support the accounting lead for Canada based funds including having knowledge of regulatory and operational reporting nuances.
Responsibilities
- Serve iCapital's clients in Canada as a team member of the accounting and operational experts.
- Build and maintain relationships with clients, both distributors and underlying fund managers, fund administrators, and other service providers.
- Work closely with the Fund Origination, Investor Relations, Legal and Compliance, Technology, Sales, and Marketing teams to support ongoing fund operations.
- Provide the review and control function for NAV packages, capital events, and management fee calculations provided by the fund administrator.
- Monitor cash positions and liquidity of investments, review cash reconciliations, and manage cash reserves.
- Run accounts payable and expense allocation processes.
- Maintain investor and investment data in the iCapital platform using proprietary technology tools.
- Define, update, and maintain operating policies and procedures.
- Liaise with funds' custodians and funds' banks, as well as other counterparties as needed.
- Fulfill ad-hoc requests as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting is preferred
- 5+ years of fund accounting, fund administration, or finance operations experience (a focus on alternative investment funds including fund-of-funds and feeder funds is preferred)
- Proficient accounting skills and experience within an audit framework are preferred
- Experience with Fundserv is preferred
- Advanced Excel skills
- Demonstrated capacity and desire to work within a close team structure on all tasks
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to see the big picture
- Proven ability to multi-task and work both independently and as a team player in a fast-paced, demanding environment
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

WHAT WILL YOUR MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES BE?:
E2E Business & Performance Management:
Leading functional connectivity to ensure functional plans are complementing one another and are not silo-ed.
Manage the interface between the Demand Creation and CS&P teams, ensuring both functions are delivering at the speed and quality required to win in the market
Deliver the right performance signals to Demand Creation and CS&P to understand if the trade & BMI investment plans are successful or not
Category Competitiveness & Growth:
Unilever vs. Competitor share monitoring to understand insights and clearly identify issues & opportunities.
Continuously assess market dynamics to provide CSP and MKT teams with category/brand opportunities
Performance analysis to inform growth plans and pivots needed to deliver growth plans
S&OP and P&L Management:
Manage business fundamentals: USG, GM, UOP, UOM, Competitiveness
Manage in year target delivery and P&L management
Note: While the "analysis" sits with this team, the delivery of business fundamental is owned by all functions.
Leads business operations to provide accurate and efficient S&OP process in collaboration with SC and Finance
