Contractor | Remote (Canada, with London HQ collaboration)
HeliosX is an international healthtech group operating telehealth platforms across multiple markets. We are now expanding into Canada with the launch of MedExpress , our leading online prescribing and telehealth service.
We're looking for Medical Advisors (Telehealth Doctors) to guide our Canadian launch on a contractor basis. This is a unique opportunity to help shape the clinical, regulatory, and operational foundations of a proven international telehealth model, while collaborating with our London-based team.
The RoleYou will support the expansion in phased stages:
Phase 1 – Initial Review (2 hrs, one-off)
- Provide a top-level overview of Canadian regulations for online prescribing.
- Conduct a high-level gap analysis with MedExpress's current UK model.
- Deliver insights via a 2-hour interview (may be split into two sessions).
Phase 2 – Detailed Review (10 hrs, one-off)
- Provide a full regulatory and compliance analysis for telehealth prescribing across provinces.
- Define requirements for clinician type, licensing, insurance, and best practice.
- Review rules on advertising, insurance, and asynchronous consultations.
- Submit a detailed report using a provided template.
Phase 3 – Pre-Launch (~3 days/week for ~8 weeks)
- Review and sign off on protocols & SOPs adapted for Canada.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations and patient safety.
- Provide horizon scanning for upcoming regulatory or best practice changes.
- Attend weekly (30 min) meetings and ad hoc calls with Canadian and UK teams.
- Be featured on the MedExpress Canada website (profile photo + bio).
Longer term, this role may evolve into the Canadian Medical Lead .
About You- Registered with appropriate medical council in Canada, with license to practice.
- Strong knowledge of Canadian telehealth and online prescribing.
- Ideally experienced with GLP-1 prescriptions, erectile dysfunction treatments, and asynchronous consultations.
- Experience designing or managing telehealth services a plus.
- Actively practising clinicians especially encouraged to apply.
- Play a central role in shaping Canada's telehealth landscape.
- Collaborate with a global team that's scaling digital health worldwide.

With more than 125 physicians across 21 sites within London, and Middlesex, Oxford and Elgin counties, the Thames Valley Family Health Team is committed to providing comprehensive inter-collaborative primary health care to over 162,000 patients.
Currently, we are seeking a skilled Patient Care Assistant to join our Integrated Primary Healthcare Team. This position will be a vital member of our team and will play a crucial role in providing comprehensive healthcare services alongside Nurse Practitioners (NPs), who serve as the most responsible provider(s), and the interdisciplinary healthcare team. The Medical Clinic Administrator responsibilities will include assisting with patient care, managing administrative tasks, and facilitating seamless communication within the team. The role will require some evening hours, with vacation aligned with the NP team schedule, and follow TVFHT Health and Safety policies and procedures. This Patient Care Assistant is a new role that will be working on-site with the multi-disciplinary healthcare team and TVFHT’s Operations Department to offer administrative and clinical patient support in a primary care setting.
Requirements, Skills, and Abilities:
Administrative experience in a healthcare setting
Post-Secondary school diploma from a medical assistant program; Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or equivalent preferred.
Experience providing injections and/or Certificate of completion to administer injections; preferred
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Excellent interpersonal skills and experience working in multi-disciplinary team.
Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.
Understanding of medical terminology, and clinical procedures.
Proficiency in using electronic medical records (EMR) systems and computer skills.
Experience working with Outlook, Teams and Microsoft applications (Excel, Work, Power Point).
An understanding of the Ministry of Health and Family Health Team philosophy.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Ability to coordinate and communicate information and documentation for various meetings and events, as well as minute taking skills
Proficiency in data mining and compiling relevant information for inclusion reports
Excellent critical thinking skills with the ability to anticipate and respond to the administrative and clinical needs of leadership and the healthcare team.
Exercise reasonable care and caution in protecting confidential and sensitive information related to patients and personnel with understanding of PHIPA
Availability to take on responsibility of opening and/or closing the clinic, with some evening hours required.
Ability to monitor, track and follow-up with patients on referrals initiated by NP(s).
Must have reliable transportation to allow you to travel to other locations to complete your work if needed
Salary Range: $47,046 - $57,374
