The HR Consultant works alongside the HR Director, Office of the Partner, playing a key role in the delivery of programs and processes that support the partner experience (including promotion, career path and development, health and wellness, succession and transition).

What you will do- Collaborate with and provide hands-on support to the HR Director in implementing talent strategies and plans aligned with business needs, with direction from the Director and Managing Director, OTP
- Provide support on annual processes including performance management processes (and related SoQM activities), annual program delivery
- Develop and maintain excellent relationships with the team and network of resources to provide support in the execution of accountabilities and the implementation of programs and processes specific to partners
- Provide support for the Director in various talent related areas including research, preparation of spreadsheets, creation of PowerPoint presentations, drafting communications and highlighting opportunities that deliver value and impact to the business
- Implement and monitor the effectiveness of partner development initiatives
- Act as a trusted advisor to leaders by applying a diverse and inclusive mindset and by identifying opportunities to embed diversity and inclusion in processes and programs
- Partner with the Centers of Excellence such as Total Rewards, Inclusion and Diversity or Employee Relations (ERS), as needed
- Participate as a project team member on OTP
- A university degree (or similar) in related discipline
- 5+ years of experience in Human Resources in a fast-paced, corporate environment
- Strong business acumen and demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities for multiple stakeholders
- Ability to develop strong relationships with internal clients, gain credibility, challenge the norm and be viewed as a trusted advisor
- Strong organizational and detail-oriented skills with the ability to work in a changing environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- An ability and familiarity to work well in a team environment
- Self-starter who identifies problems and suggests solutions naturally
- Excellent proficiency with PowerPoint, Word and Excel
- In-depth knowledge of using AI to write documents, analyze content, and prepare information
- CHRP designation awarded or in process is considered an asset
This position requires written and oral fluency in English. The successful candidate will be required to support or collaborate with English-speaking colleagues or stakeholders nationally in our English speaking provinces while at KPMG.
KPMG BC Region Pay Range InformationThe expected base salary range for this position is $73,000 to $109,500 and may be eligible for bonus awards. The determination of an applicant's base salary within this range is based on the individual's location, skills & competencies, and unique qualifications. The HR Business Partner (HRBP) is a key member of the Human Resources team, responsible for supporting both strategic and operational HR activities across local business functions in a unionized environment. With 8-10 years of experience, particularly in union settings, the HRBP partners closely with employees, managers, and leadership to deliver excellent HR services in the areas of Labour Relations, hourly recruitment, conflict resolution, Health and Safety, WSIB claims management, and general employee support.
Labour Relations
- Serve as the first point of contact for labour relations issues.
- Interpret and administer collective agreements, providing guidance to managers and employees.
- Support the grievance process, investigations, and implementation of disciplinary actions as required.
- Participate in labour-management meetings and support preparation for bargaining as needed.
Hourly Recruitment
- Lead end-to-end recruitment for hourly positions, including job postings, applicant screening, interviewing, and onboarding.
- Develop strong relationships with hiring managers to understand workforce needs and ensure timely recruitment.
Employee and Manager Support
- Provide guidance and coaching to employees and managers on HR policies, procedures, and employment-related issues.
- Support the rollout and communication of HR programs, policies, and initiatives.
Conflict Resolution
- Act as a neutral facilitator in conflict situations, using effective mediation and problem-solving skills to resolve workplace issues.
- Advise and coach managers on best practices to mitigate and manage conflicts within their teams.
Health and Safety & WSIB Claims Management
- Promote and support health and safety policies and best practices in partnership with the Health and Safety team.

General HR Support
- Provide broad HR generalist support to local business functions as required.
- Maintain accurate HR records and ensure compliance with company policies and legislative requirements.

The salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is $103,251 - $154,876 annually. The hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to education, training, work experience, terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement, seniority, etc.

The Opportunity
We're seeking a HR Business Partner to support our operations with a mix of daytoday HR delivery and strategic involvement. You'll partner with operational leaders, coach supervisors and managers, lead investigations, drive engagement along with the other HR responsibilities that keep the lights on (employee questions, letters, onboarding/offboarding etc.). You'll also support labour relations where applicable; including grievance handling, arbitration prep, and collective bargaining in partnership with leadership and Corporate People Resources.
What you'll do
Business partnering & employee relations
- Serve as a trusted advisor to leaders and supervisors on performance, coaching, organizational changes, and conflict resolution; lead workplace investigations and facilitate corrective outcomes, coordinating with Corporate People Resources as needed.
- Guide managers through progressive discipline, termination planning, and documentation in accordance with company policy and applicable legislation.
Labour relations (unionized environments)
- Act as a point of contact for daytoday union matters; including grievance handling, settlements, and prep for mediations/arbitrations.
- Participate in collective bargaining (where applicable): including proposal development, costing, bargaining table support, and implementation/education of new CBA provisions.
- Interpret CBAs and coach leaders on application; participate in labour relations council meetings
Talent acquisition & development
- Own fullcycle recruitment for designated roles (intake, postings, screening, interviews, selection and offers); craft compelling postings and ensure a great candidate experience. Expectation would be recruitment for 4-6 jobs at any given time.
- Support individualized development planning, succession insights, and targeted development for highpotential talent.
Programs, engagement & culture
- Coordinate the annual employee engagement survey, focus groups, action plans, and followthrough on commitments; enable local engagement initiatives and recognition programs.
- Facilitate HR updates at regional meetings as needed.
HR operations
- Communicate and train on performance management processes (goal setting, feedback, reviews).
- Own your admin: HRIS transactions and data integrity; letters (offers, changes, discipline), file management, onboarding/offboarding tasks, benefits enrollments/changes/business correspondence.
Compliance & risk
- Ensure compliance with Employment Standards, Human Rights, OHSA, and other applicable legislation; prepare for and support audits.
- Support on more complex leave/absence administration in line with policy and insurer requirements (e.g., STD/LTD coordination).
What you'll bring
- 710+ years progressive HR experience, including labour relations (grievances and bargaining) in unionized environments.
- Strong track record in employee relations and workplace investigations.
- Demonstrated ability to be both strategic and handson, selfsufficient with HR admin and HRIS.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); HRIS experience an asset.
- Postsecondary education in HR/Business (CHRP/CHRL an asset).
- Excellent communication, relationshipbuilding, prioritization, and change agility in a fastpaced, matrixed setting.
