We are working with our Civil General Contractor client to assist in mobilizing a large project near Kamloops/Southern Interior BC. We require a Safety Officer/Safety Professional experienced and knowledgeable in civil construction to join our client on this exciting project for a minimum of 6 months contract role.

Requirements

• Diploma or degree in Occupational Health and Safety
  

• Creating and implementing health and safety programs, policies, and procedures to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with regulations.
  

• Identifying potential safety and health hazards on construction sites, including those related to equipment, materials, and work practices.

• Conducting regular inspections of construction sites, equipment, and work practices to ensure compliance with safety standards.

• Providing safety training to construction workers on topics such as safe work procedures, use of equipment, and emergency response.

• Encouraging a positive safety culture among workers and fostering a commitment to safe work practices.

• Strong communication skills and work ethic

• Proficient in MS Office Suite, industry related softwares

• Ability to work on-site for scheduled rotation, immediate availability is preferred.

• Ensure company safety procedures and protocols are implementing on all assigned projects.

• CSO Certification

• Highly organized and excellent communicator to document relevant information but also lead on-site team in a collaborative team environment.
• First Aid Level II is required.
• Competent with general construction and reporting software with capability to learn company programs - Procore.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solver through use of experience.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide Health & Safety functional leadership, mentorship and guidance to site operations and management personnel
• Respond to issues relating to health, safety, environment, emergency response, performance metrics and safety management systems for site operations
• Conduct daily public health & safety inspections, and maintain records
• Schedule and organize safety training and orientations
• Support Safety Team in applying defined criteria to review subcontractors safety programs and provide ongoing assistance to subcontractors
• Administer first aid services to all personnel on the work site as necessary
• Be involved in Return to Work Program
• Performs other duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• CSO / NCSO Certification
• Related Post-Secondary Health & Safety Degrees, Diplomas or Certifications are an asset

Conducting daily onsite safety inspections as required by the Health & Safety Program. General responsibilities include ensuring contractors and sub-trades remain in compliance by maintaining their safe work practices to comply with WCB requirements and standards, maintaining all safety records at site, responding to on-site emergencies and communicating with management, completing all incident reporting when communication is required by WCB, conducting safety orientations, and helping the company obtain COR Certification.

Maintaining an organized, clean, and efficient multifamily job site, while ensuring compliance with all safety policies and procedures.

Contributing to a culture of continuous improvement by establishing behavioural guidelines, best practices, and a system of accountability.

X/Celerant Consulting is seeking several full-time experienced Management Consultants to join our team anywhere in Canada, but primarily in British Columbia and Ontario. These roles will be responsible for running an individual workstream in an industrial construction setting, working in the field to support the roll-out of a corporate Safety Initiative. The consultant will work side by side with the clients to ensure deliverables are met in a timely manner. • Experience in data analysis, project management, and/or supply chain management is a plus
• Demonstrated interest and understanding of operations strategy
