We are seeking a highly motivated and knowledgeable Insurance Broker to join our team. As an Insurance Broker, you will be responsible for analyzing the insurance market, negotiating policies, and providing exceptional customer service to our clients. Duties

  • Manage the sales process, including preparing competitive quotes, processing applications, and overseeing policy renewals using advanced tools

Skills and Qualifications

  • Valid RIBO  license is required

  • Experience in the insurance industry  is considered an asset

  • Proficient knowledge of Commercial Lines  and or Personal Lines

  • Strong proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications, Powerbroker and Applied Rating Services is an asset

  • Ability to multi-task  and work with minimal guidance.

  • Comfortable with cold calling  and building relationships with COIs.

We are seeking an Income Assistance Coordinator to join our team, working collaboratively to enhance the delivery of social assistance programs and empower clients to build sustainable, self-determined futures.


Under the direction of the Division Manager, Employment, Training and Social Development the Income Assistance Coordinator provides culturally informed financial and program assistance to community members in need. This role involves intake assessments, financial literacy education, case management, program compliance, and interdepartmental collaboration. The Income Assistance Coordinator will also engage in community relations activities to support clients and the community.

This is a full-time term contract ending on March 31st, 2026, with the possibility of extension.



What You'll Do

Client Support

  • Receive, assess, and process social assistance applications per ISC guidelines.
  • Assist clients in identifying needs, resources, and available programs including Special Needs and COPH.
  • Support clients with disability forms, budgeting workshops, and financial planning.
  • Refer clients to other community support services when needed.
  • Encourage client independence while maintaining professional boundaries.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of ISC policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with the employment team to support client transition to the workforce.
  • Advocate for the rights and entitlements of community members.

Client Records Administration

  • Maintain accurate client files and service records.
  • Ensure proper documentation of decisions and forms.
  • Keep filing systems current and accessible.
  • Monitor and report on community trends and service gaps.

Program Administration

  • Submit narrative and statistical reports to the manager monthly, quarterly, and annually.
  • Complete work plans, monthly budgets, decision forms, and reports for ISC and internal use.
  • Manage repayment agreements and utility/rent tracking systems.


Other Duties

  • Additional responsibilities as needed to support the community and uphold our shared values.


Working / Special Conditions

  • Initial and ongoing employment is subject to submission of a clear Criminal Record Review Program Check to ensure the safety and trust of the communities we serve. This check will be conducted every five years.
  • Initial and ongoing commitment to the values and guidelines of Sq'wqel (Seabird Island Band), including our policies, procedures, standards of practice, and laws, is essential. This commitment supports our collective work, the community, and the responsibilities of this role.
  • Must possess a valid class 5 driver's license and have access to safe and reliable transportation, insured for community-based use, to effectively engage with and support families in our community and the communities we serve.
  • Flexibility in working hours may be required, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate the needs and schedules of clients and community needs. Employees will be given as much notice as possible to any changes in schedule.

What You Bring

  • A Diploma in Social Services or a related field. We also recognize and value cultural knowledge and experience gained through other forms of education and training, including teachings from Elders and Knowledge Keepers.
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience working within Indigenous communities, focusing on income assistance, social services, or community wellness.
  • Experience working with Indigenous communities and understanding of Indigenous cultures, traditions, and contemporary issues.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.


Preferred:

  • Indigenous candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
  • Lived experience as a member of a First Nations community.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Seabird Islands culture, traditions, teachings, community dynamics.

We operate 5 primary programs, including La Maison Rosewood Shelter, a woman-centered organization that provides support to women who are fleeing violence, or are experiencing homelessness. We are committed to providing our services within an intersectional feminist and harm reduction integrated environment.


Huronia Transition Homes is currently hiring aProject Coordinatorfor a full-time, until March 31, 2027, contract position.The successful candidate for this position will report to the Development Manager and will work primarily out of our Midland office. The Project Coordinator will be responsible for the coordination and development of a Basic Income Guarantee (BIG) framework and network.Work activities will include research coordination, knowledge translation, and the mobilization of municipalities, academic institutions, social services, regional committees, local health units and women who have survived gender-based violence to work collectively to advance the BIG framework.


Key responsibilities include:

Network Mobilization:

  • Coordinate all components of the North Simcoe BIG network, inclusive of meetings, membership, meeting minutes, scheduling and workplans.
  • Liaise withapprovedcommunity organizations and stakeholders to promote the BIG network
  • Design and deliverapprovedworkshops and information sessions
  • Participate on approved committees / coalitions to take advantage of opportunities for information sharing


Research Coordination:

  • Complete literature review on locally driven BIG projects
  • Design and coordinate focus groups for women who have survived violence who are living in poverty, inclusive of an interview guide.
  • Design and implement a survey for stakeholders and community members
  • Consolidate data collected into a report with key findings
  • Develop and implement a mechanism for women living in poverty who have survived violence to provide ongoing feedback

Knowledge Translation:

  • Develop and deliver approved public education tools and resources
  • Establish and maintain relationships with media outlets, as directed by the Development Manager
  • Work with the Development Manager to develop public awareness tools to share information on the BIG program
  • Promote and design approved public awareness campaigns related to BIG and violence against women
  • Build networks for data collection and information distribution
  • Organize and coordinate events to enhance community awareness of the project.


Program Administration

  • Prepare reports and strategies in relation to the BIG project, inclusive of knowledge translation strategy, BIG framework and literature review.
  • Support in the preparation and distribution of a request for proposal for the third-party evaluator.
  • Work towards achieving service delivery objectives in accordance with policies, procedures, budget and service targets.
  • Follow and maintain an up-to-date workplan through the duration of the project
  • Participate in program planning and evaluation as required
  • Record statistics as per agency policies and procedures, accurately track activities and event participation and generate reports as requested
  • Maintain list of supplies and resources needed for promotional events, order and restock supplies as needed
  • Perform problem-solving and decision-making in accordance with policies and procedures, consulting with Development Manager as required
