**Job Description**
**AECOM** is seeking a seasoned and enthusiastic **Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Consultant** to join our dynamic and growing team in . This **full-time, temporary** position offers a rewarding opportunity to contribute to a variety of projects across Canada by providing expert support in EHS management and regulatory consulting.
**Key Responsibilities:**
+ Develop and implement health, safety, and environmental management systems
+ Conduct assigned industrial hygiene monitoring and air sampling projects (on site)
+ Perform regulatory health and safety assessments (e.g. designated substance survey) and audits (e.g. compliance audits)
+ Perform assigned task independently as well as within a team environment
+ Provide regulatory compliance support and deliver innovative, practical solutions
+ Manage a diverse portfolio of projects and support proposal development
+ Lead and collaborate with technical teams to ensure successful project execution
**Qualifications**
**Minimum Requirements:**
+ Bachelor's degree in environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) or a related field
+ 4+ years of practical experience in EHS management, regulatory compliance, and/or auditing
+ Strong knowledge of federal and provincial environmental legislation
+ Demonstrated ability to build and maintain client relationships and lead technical teams
+ Excellent project management, communication, and problem-solving skills
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ 6+ years of experience
+ EHS professional designations (e.g., CIH/ROH, CRSP, EP(CEA)) or eligibility for certification
+ Experience in performing industrial hygiene air monitoring/sampling, material testing and laboratory analysis interpretation
+ Experience in conducting designated substance survey/hazardous materials sampling
+ Familiarity with industry-specific EHS practices, including compliance and inspections
+ Valid driver's licence (G-Class) and own reliable vehicle (preferred)
**Additional Information**
Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $50,000.00 - $0,000.00.

Position Overview
Celanese is seeking a proactive and hands-on Occupational Safety Specialist for our Edmonton facility. This role is critical in driving a culture where safety is the top priority and human performance principles are central to our operations.
The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker and a visible leader in the field—engaging directly with employees, identifying potential risks, and implementing practical, sustainable safety solutions. This role demands a strong presence, a passion for continuous improvement, and the ability to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization.
Responsibilities
- Act as program owner for occupational health & safety processes (e.g., confined space, hot work, permitting, energy isolation, PPE)
- Ensure compliance with applicable health & safety requirements through audits and assessments
- Serve as site subject matter expert for safety Standard Work Practices (SWPs)
- Identify hazards and lead implementation of effective mitigation strategies
- Lead or participate in incident investigations and root cause analyses
- Develop and deliver safety training programs across the site
- Conduct field safety observations
- Support the emergency response program, including training and drills
- Coordinate occupational injury and illness case management in collaboration with medical and site leadership
- Foster strong relationships with local emergency responders and mutual aid partners
- Support contractor safety and management programs
- Drive initiatives that enhance employee engagement and overall safety culture
Qualifications
- 10-15+ years of occupational safety experience in a manufacturing environment
- CRSP (Canadian Registered Safety Professional) designation required
- Demonstrated leadership and ability to drive a positive safety culture
- Strong field presence and employee engagement focus
- In-depth knowledge of applicable health and safety regulations, including Alberta OH&S
- Experience developing and implementing safety programs and procedures
- Strong communication, training, and presentation skills
- Knowledge of emergency response operations and planning
- Self-motivated, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
