Automation Engineer is a highly technical position that is responsible to develop, coordinate, qualify, and supervise design, construction, functionality, and buy-off of Automated assembly equipment. In addition, will be required to diagnose, analyze, and recommend solutions for tooling/processing concerns. Responsible for understanding product requirements, preparing RFQ’s based on conceptual designs and sequence of operations, and communicating technical information to suppliers. Other duties include:

• Responsible for the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of robotic systems to ensure their optimal performance. Possess comprehensive knowledge of all managed robotic equipment, including an in-depth understanding of operational mechanisms and proficient skills in operation and maintenance. Develop and enforce a rigorous equipment maintenance system to guarantee the stable operation of robots.
• Conduct preparation, maintenance, and debugging of robotic equipment, promoting standardized management practices. Formulate standard operating procedures (SOP) documents for various types of robotic equipment.
• Perform root cause analysis for complex and abnormal issues related to robots and implement effective solutions. Develop and conduct training programs for personnel involved with robotic equipment, enforce maintenance plans, maintain detailed records, and manage the procurement and inventory of spare parts.
• Resolve technical challenges associated with robots, promote process improvements, enhance production efficiency, and reduce costs. Manage automation and robotics application projects, including path programming. Identify and rectify safety defects in on-site production equipment and facilities, monitor and halt any abnormal operations or illegal use during routine inspections.
• Initiate and implement improvement proposals for inefficiencies in on-site operations, standardize work processes, evaluate man-machine efficiency, and lead initiatives to improve steps, efficiency, quality, and technology.
• Facilitate the evaluation of MOS and system audits related to robotics, ensuring the timely rectification and implementation of non-conforming items identified in audits.
• Oversaw the establishment and training of local technical team personnel.

To qualify for this role you must meet the following:

• A bachelor's degree or higher in mechanical engineering, automation, electrical engineering, or related fields is required.
• More than five years of relevant experience in manufacturing automation management.
• Proficiency in Office and CAD software, along with comprehensive knowledge and skills in mechanical or electrical design, is essential.
• Familiarity with the maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment, equipment management systems, and Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) principles and practices is necessary.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure and strong cross-cultural communication skills.
• Bilingual - Mandarin and English is a plus

Job Summary:

Project Manager, BAS will lead a project team, reporting directly to the BAS Branch Manager. The Project Manager takes on responsibility for delivering all BAS projects. The PM has proven people and leadership skills and has a thorough understanding of the Canadian Commercial construction industry, and has a demonstrated competency in team leadership and team building skills. The Project Manager will be working with the Branch Manager and other PMs in resource scheduling and service handling requests.

Key Responsibilities:

• Demonstrates leadership in Health & Safety practices, schedules and reports attendance on weekly H&S talks, uses eCompliance to audit technician submissions and reports to the Branch Manager/HSE.
• Supervision provided by the BAS Manager.
• Responsible for maintaining Ainsworth standard practices in the delivery of BAS projects.
• Liaises with other Project Managers in order to improve our company practices.
• Having a customer facing role, always represents the company in a dignified manner, and has the customer’s needs in mind.
• Is responsible to deliver any and all assigned projects on time, on budget, and with quality.
• Shall look for opportunities to increase profitability within the project via project extras or cost savings.
• Is organized and maintains all required standard project documentation, both financial and technical, as a record for the company.
• Informs the BAS Manager weekly of project status, team needs, risks, and challenges,
• Works with the team PA in order to deliver monthly forecasts.
• Shall supervise and ensure that both internal and subcontracted resources assigned to the team delivers the project TBQ (on Time on Budget and with Quality).
• Shall manage the construction team’s Senior BAS Technicians in providing them with the team’s priorities, scheduling needs and clarification of project scope.
• Responsible for team financial reporting, forecasting activities.
• Be a leader in BAS construction team building activities.
• Provide team appraisals and evaluations.
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
• Perform all job functions in a safe and healthful manner, abiding by and in accordance with all applicable Health, Safety and Environmental company policies and government legislation/regulations.
• Adhere to the Company’s Quality System operating procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Management.

Qualifications:

• Graduate from post-secondary education or technical equivalent experience
• Valid driver’s license and the ability to be insured by Ainsworth Canada and pass security screening as required by Ainsworth Canada’s clients.
• Fluent in English – both written and oral. The ability to read and understand construction plans and specs and product documentation.
• Fluent in Microsoft Office, including Visio, Microsoft Project.
• Technically competent in the Schneider Electric BAS product line, building automation products.
• Basic project financial reporting background.
