We are seeking a detail-oriented Installation Technician, to transport and install a variety of signs. In this role, you will be required to ensure that the designs meet clients’ specifications, prepare the signs for mounting, and manage the placement and installation of the signs, as well as provide training, support and guidance to other Installation Technicians.
To ensure success as an Installation Technician , you will need to be highly organized, have good knowledge about the types of signs, and be comfortable working at heights. An outstanding sign installer will demonstrate precision and possess a sound understanding of the applicable construction and installation techniques.
T he primary responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to:
· Mounting and installing signs while strictly adhering to measurements and all safety protocols
· Reviewing and comprehending blueprints or work order specifications to determine layout and installation procedures.
· Safely loading and transporting signs, tools, and materials to installation locations
· Preparing installation sites by removing old signage, preparing surfaces or structures, and securing electrical connections
· Ensuring precise measurement, placement, connection, and installation of sign
· Clearing debris and materials from sites post-installation
· Performing necessary maintenance and repairs on signs, as needed
· Safely and reliably install various types of signage (fascia, channel letters, vinyl, pylons, canopies, awnings, etc.)
· Can safely and effectively operate aerial platform equipment (scissor lifts, boom lifts, etc.)
· Provide documentation of daily visual inspection of trucks and trailers along with record keeping (pictures, job numbers, returned inventory etc.) as required
· Understand MTO regulations for weight, tie downs and other aspects.
· Enter daily trip log data per MTO requirements.
· Work closely with the Install Manager to understand the expectations for each installation.
· Review drawings, work orders, and site surveys to develop a full understanding of job site expectations.
· Willing to load/unload trailer prior to and following job completion
· Utilizing hand and power tools and maintaining equipment in accordance with safety standards
· Collaborating effectively with team members and leadership
· Undertaking any additional responsibilities or duties and special projects as assigned
R e qu i re m e n t s / Qualifications:
A cademic Training:
· High school diploma or GED.
- Class 1 Driver’s License with Q Endorsement.
- Alberta Mobile Crane Operator Certificate (0–8-ton capacity).
Work Experience:
- Minimum two years’ experience as an Installation Technician or similar.
· Previous installation experience is an asset
· Previous experience in construction or manufacturing environment is preferred.
Specific Competencies:
· Valid commercial driver’s license and a clean driving record.
· Good knowledge of various types of signs including vinyl, channel letters, electrical signs, and road signs.
· Be conscious of safety and hazards at all times
· Must be comfortable with hand tools and have mechanical aptitude.
· Have basic knowledge of electrical components and how to work with them
· Strong communication and customer service skills
· Knowledge of strengthening techniques may involve installing additional elements to increase the foundation’s load-carrying capacity.
· Willingness to learn and adapt to new environments
· Valid Drivers license with a MVR report that meets insurance requirements (preferred)
· Ability to operate heavy machinery (preferred)
· A sound understanding of the applicable installation methods, materials, and safety measures.
· The ability to operate hand and power tools.
· Physically capable and able to perform strenuous labor including lifting, climbing, and working at heights.
· Proactive and adaptable team player with a proven ability to lead by example and take initiative. Demonstrates flexibility in handling diverse tasks to achieve objectives and thrive in a changing environment.
· Open to overnight travel and flexible with extended work hours as needed.
· Excellent organizational and time management skills

Our client, a multi-faceted visual communications media company, is looking for an Installation Technician. Reporting to the Service Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the safe, timely, and high-quality installation of digital media and signage solutions at client locations. This includes installing LED displays, video walls, digital kiosks, projection systems, and related AV hardware, ensuring they meet design specifications and function seamlessly. The technician will work closely with project managers, creative teams, and clients to deliver exceptional results that reflect our client's high standards of innovation and design excellence. This individual must be able to work overnight hours on an occasional basis and will be servicing clients mainly located in the GTA.
Primary Responsibilities
Duties would include but not limited to:
• Install and configure digital signage hardware, displays, media players, control systems, and related network infrastructure.
• Conduct on-site assessments and collaborate with project managers to verify site readiness and installation requirements.
• Mount and align screens, LED panels, and projection equipment to precise specifications.
• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware/software integration issues on-site.
• Ensure all wiring and equipment setups follow safety, electrical, and building code standards.
• Maintain detailed documentation of installation progress, configurations, and service issues.
• Coordinate with creative and content teams to test and verify correct media playback.
• Perform maintenance, repairs, and upgrades on existing installations as needed.
• Represent our client professionally while interacting with clients and partners on job sites.
• Travel to various client locations across regions/countries as required.
Job Requirements

ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems is a division within ASSA ABLOY.
This is an opportunity for a service-minded professional to work, learn and grow with a team of dedicated professional technicians whom serve our customers with door automation service to our customers. Install automatic and manual door equipment, storefront framing, miscellaneous break metal coverage, and tie into electrical power supplied as necessary. Install and assist in the installation of revolver doors as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform service and installation in accordance with manufacturers recommended installation procedures and specifications.
- Document time spent and complete proper documentation detailing any problems, shortages and inefficiencies in jobsite conditions.
- Maintain proper truck stock and inventory.
- Maintain company vehicle both in appearance and per vehicle maintenance agreement.
- Maintain clean, neat personal appearance in accordance to company policy.
- Label equipment and completed door assignments with approved company logo decals.
- Maintain accurate time sheet detailing job numbers and travel time.
- Interface with customer, end-user and general contractor in a courteous professional manner at all times.
- Participate in training programs offered and remain AAADM certified.
- Perform all work in a safe manner for prevention of accidents to themselves, co-workers, contractors on-site and the general public and property of all concerned.
- Wear and maintain any/all Personal Protection Equipment when necessary.
- Assist in any/all inventories as directed.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
High school diploma or GED. 3-5 years’ experience of direct industry, store front door installation or relevant industry experience, Storefront, Glazing, Doors, Aluminum Frames, Electrical, Glass, Automatic Doors, Hardware etc.
Candidate minimum requirements must possess a strong ability in electro-mechanical aptitude. Be able to work cooperatively and communicate both written and orally. Also, the physical ability to lift up to 100 pounds, work on knees constantly, work while on ladders, work safely with power tools and ladders.

We are a Calgary based company.
As a leader in custom acoustic applications and other specialized products, we manufacture, sell and install custom interior products across Canada.
We are an Interior Finishing company so no "cold Alberta winters" and a small group company approach to Work and Play.
Currently we have openings for installers. Full training is provided.
Basic hand and small shop tool knowledge is advantageous and some basic carpentry skills would be an asset. Safety and other certifications/tickets are also an asset.
Ability to travel is required although the majority of our work is within the province.
A Valid Drivers License is required.
