The Business Intelligence Analyst will work with data from multiple sources to develop analytics solutions and report back on their findings. Responsibilities for this role include consulting with management to define goals, developing and implementing data analytics tools, analyzing and synthesizing data, and collaborating with coworkers to implement improvements. Successful candidates need a background in database technology, with an emphasis on the use of analytical and reporting tools. *This is a 1 year fixed-term contract.
ROLES, RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS
Business Intelligence
- Produce data analysis and visual business intelligence reports through collecting, validating, and processing data, files, reports, databases, and other information.
- Help to develop visual dashboards using BI technologies (Power BI).
- Collaborate with IT and data engineering teams to access and integrate data from various sources.
- Contribute to data quality initiatives by identifying and addressing data quality issues.
- Support data governance efforts to ensure data is consistent and secure.

We are looking for a proactive Threat Intelligence Analyst to join our team during an active breach incident. The role focuses on gathering, analyzing, and contextualizing threat data to provide actionable intelligence that guides defensive and response efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor internal and external threat intelligence feeds and sources for relevant indicators of compromise (IOCs) and tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs).

- Collaborate with Incident Response, Vulnerability Management, and Security teams to share intelligence.
- Maintain threat intelligence platforms and contribute to reports for stakeholders.

Qualifications:

What you’ll be doing
The DA is responsible for analyzing and interpreting complex datasets to provide actionable insights to the business. This includes redesigning and rebuilding existing reports, developing new analytical tools, and supporting the data team in operational tasks. The DA works closely with data engineers, business analysts, and business stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of reporting and analytics solutions.
The DA also supports the data governance and data quality strategies by maintaining artifacts such as data dictionaries, lineage, and business rules. This role requires a strong understanding of SQL, Power BI, and Microsoft Fabric, along with the ability to adapt to new technologies and processes.
Internally, the DA works closely with the Operations Department and other business users within BCCNM.
Externally, the DA works with external stakeholders of the College, which may include other consulting firms, Health Regulators, the Ministry of Health and other agencies or bodies in the health care industry.

About the Role
This position is a member of the Corporate Cybersecurity & Technology Risk Team reporting to the Senior Analyst, Cybersecurity Threat Intelligence. This role mitigates risk across Brookfield Renewable portfolio companies by researching emerging threat patterns, developing preventive measures, advising on security enhancements, and administering cross-portfolio cybersecurity services. The ideal candidate should have a deep understanding of the threat landscape, cybersecurity trends, and advanced persistent threats.
Key Responsibilities
You will work collaboratively with internal teams and portfolio company cybersecurity personnel to:
- Execute and monitor monthly vulnerability scans across IT and OT environments, track and report on remediation progress.
- Collect, analyze, and report phishing simulation and security awareness metrics.
- Conduct threat intelligence research using tools such as Dark Owl, OpenCTI, and Shodan; produce actionable intelligence reports.
- Analyze, advise on, and draft lessons learned from cyber incidents that occur.
- Administer key Corporate Cybersecurity & Technology Risk systems.
- Test and evaluate new as well as existing technologies for process improvement.
- Assist in the implementation of new portfolio-wide cybersecurity tools and controls.
- Prepare threat intelligence memos to assist in the cyber due diligence of target acquisitions
- Aid other team members within Cybersecurity & Technology Risk as required.
Knowledge and Experience Required
- Bachelor’s degree or college diploma in Information Technology or related discipline.
- Industry certification is considered an asset (CISSP, CompTIA Security +, CEH, etc.).
- 2-4 years of experience in cybersecurity including but not limited to vulnerability management, security awareness and identity access management systems will be considered an asset.
- 1-2 years’ experience with operational technologies (OT) and Cybersecurity Risk Management considered an asset.
- Understanding of cyber security principles and best practices (NIST CSF, ISO27001, etc.) including incident management & response processes.
- Experience with the following or similar tools is considered an asset: Rapid 7, Dark owl, Shodan, Knowbe4.

As a Risk Assessment Specialist, you will be part of the foundation of our human health and ecological risk assessment (HHERA) group. Candidates can be based in any Matrix office location. The successful applicant will be involved in a broad range of risk assessment, risk management and toxicology projects with responsibilities as follows:
- Maintain a strong working knowledge of federal and provincial risk-based regulations
- Act as Technical Accountable for HHERA for a variety of clients for risk-based management of contaminated sites across Canada
- Provide support as an expert witness if/when needed in the regulatory approval process
- Provide senior review for quality assurance of technical risk assessment and risk management reports
- Conduct presentations on regulatory changes to other Matrix technical teams and our clients on an as-needed basis
- Provide leadership to a team of professionals who conduct HHERA across Canada, often in addition to providing other contaminated sites expertise
- Work with risk assessment practitioners and contaminated sites project managers to advance risk assessment and risk management skills among Matrix personnel
- Promote site-specific risk assessment and risk management services within Matrix and externally to clients
- Lead or contribute to site-specific risk assessment business development opportunities across Canada and provide strategic proposals and budgets for new work opportunities
- Regularly and effectively communicate with regulators, clients, and technical staff
- Maintain risk assessment and risk management models and provide training to practitioners
- Develop and maintain a hazard assessment resource library (e.g., current toxicological profiles).
What We Are Looking For
- Minimum of 12 years practicing risk assessment and applying Canadian risk assessment protocols
- M.Sc., M.Eng., or Ph.D. in toxicology, biology, applied chemistry, environmental science, environmental engineering, or related discipline(s)
- Eligibility or current Professional designation in a relevant association
- Comprehensive understanding and experience using federal and provincial guidelines and risk assessment frameworks
- Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to lead and mentor project teams
- Valid driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record.
