Our primary purpose is to ensure that Veterinarians have the supplies they need to provide healthcare to all types of animals. Be a part of the Supply Chain Industry and join our team. We are currently looking for likeminded individuals to join our Operations team in an Inventory Analyst role.


Inventory Analyst
Reporting to the Operations and Logistics Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for utilizing warehouse inventory movement records, including transfers, cycle counts, PO receipts, returns and damages to investigate and reconcile inventory discrepancies. The Inventory Analyst will effectively monitor and minimize inventory adjustments using new S2K software (ERP System). Frequent interaction with Purchasing, Operations, Finance, Customer Service and Regulatory departments will be necessary.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Investigate inventory discrepancies to determine root cause and propose corrective action / preventative action.
  • Coordinate with other workers to resolve discrepancies in inventory levels, lot and expiry dates, units of measure, and FEFO/FIFO stock movements.
  • Assist operations in the identification of trends and data inconsistencies.
  • Understand reporting requirements based on Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) principles.
  • Document GMP variances in a formal deviation report as required, as well as provide CAPA assistance to explain recurring or significant variances.
  • Correct inventory in S2K (ERP System) once discrepancies are identified and investigated and apply proper reason for the adjustment on a case-by-case basis.
  • Review items Removed from Pick as an indicator of inventory discrepancies or potential backorder situations.
  • Own the entire life cycle of damaged, misplaced or missing products from the time the exceptions are detected to the resolution of the issue.
  • Assist with maintaining accurate inventory levels by performing regular inventory counts.
  • Verify against inventory audit trails in the system.
  • Remove expired product from inventory at the direction from Purchasing.
  • Work closely with Regulatory and Purchasing on product recalls, including taking product off shelves and quarantining.
  • Ensure all bins potentially holding affected item have been checked on a lot/expiry basis.
  • Define inventory reports that document inventory counts, discrepancies, adjustments, reasons for the adjustments, and other statistical data.
  • Work with Purchasing department on reporting inventory statistics to management and suggesting improvements to inventory control.
  • Perform research on a wide range of inventory related reports.

Skills and knowledge required:

  • Post secondary education in Supply Chain Management, Finance or Business-related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience in Inventory Management.
  • Lean Six Sigma experience an asset.
  • Proven ability to manage a team.
  • Proficiency in using and navigating ERP systems.
  • Familiarity with receiving, stock put away, picking, returns, replenishment, purchasing, item numbers, lots and expiry, units of measure, deviation investigation, etc.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Experience manipulating and analyzing high volumes of data using Excel.
  • Experience with perpetual inventory systems considered an asset.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated individual who drives improvement through data-driven insights.
  • Strong communication skills to work interdepartmentally as required.

About the Position:

The Inventory Analyst is responsible for efficiently managing inventory across our distribution network. The position involves analyzing inventory data, monitoring stock levels, and developing strategies to optimize inventory control. The Inventory Analyst understands the role as brand ambassador and provides positive brand experiences to all clients, partners, distributors, and stakeholders.   • Analyze inventory data to provide insights and recommendations for inventory management improvements.
  • Assist in forecasting demand by analyzing historical inventory and sales data, generating reports, and identifying trends.
  • Identify opportunities to improve inventory turnover and reduce excess inventory across the network. Implement strategies to balance stock levels and improve overall inventory performance while maintaining high service levels.

Reporting to the Manager of Supply and Demand Planning , the Inventory Analyst is responsible for the allocation of merchandise to the stores, inventory analysis and purchase orders. The Inventory Analyst will work cross functional with the Merchants, Planning and Store Operations to ensure that the stores have an optimal product mix to maximize sales. 

 A little about the role:  

  • Analyze sales and inventory data to make informed decisions regarding replenishment of items at the store level.
  • Analyze and make recommendations to optimize and control inventory levels while meeting business requirements.
  • Manage inventory orders at the SKU level to align with demand forecasts for all stores and warehouses.
  • Allocate inventory to stores based on sales trends and seasonal demand shifts.
  • Coordinate shipments with Warehouse and vendors/ stores to ensure timely product delivery.
  • Suggest and implement improvements to reduce stock shortages and overstock issues.
  • Continuously review inventory data to refine future replenishment strategies.
  • Track sales and inventory performance, identifying gaps between projections and actual results.
  • Issue purchase and allocation requisitions daily as required.
  • Working closely with the planning team to ensure that inventory levels are maintained to achieve sales targets.
  • Monitor purchase orders: ensuring salon credits, supplier credits, and inventory records are reconciled. 
  • Initiative to see beyond the day-to-day business and seek opportunities to maximize the sales potential.
  • Establish and maintain significant cross-functional relationships with the buying team, distribution center, store operations and other departments. 
  • Assist and support senior management in implementing the company vision and goals through execution of inventory management transactions and processes.

A little about you: 
  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain or post-secondary education or equivalent experience relating to inventory management. 
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in inventory management or a similar discipline. 
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with MRP systems.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in retail allocation.
  • Experience in generating reports related to inventory variance, turnover, returns etc. 
  • Distribution Retail and/or Beauty Industry experience preferred. 
  • Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written. 
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills; team building skills. 
  • Strong conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving skills. 
  • Strong organizational, time management and planning skills with the ability to prioritize and multi-task.

The Opportunity:

Rapports

  • Établir et maintenir des registres appropriés des ajustements d'inventaire et d'autres KPI qui peuvent être partagés sur une base mensuelle/trimestrielle/annuelle.

Exécuter/développer des processus 

  • Traiter et maintenir les règles d'inventaire dans l'outil logiciel de back-office PDI 

  • Traduire les exigences opérationnelles en matière d'inventaire en modèles de données

Profil du candidat:

Il s'agit notamment de rechercher et de mettre en œuvre les modifications à apporter aux outils d'inventaire et de reporting.

The Opportunity:

Reporting directly to the Manager, Merchandise Revenue Management, the Inventory Analyst will process and review inventory transactions, maintain rules and measures within PDI back-office software, control day-to-day inventory operations and implement inventory control protocols.

Responsibilities:

Analyze/Interpret Data 

  • Able to articulate effects of analysis, modeling, trends, business decision support on key financial measures.
  • Analyze inventory statistics to predict future demand of inventory.
  • Highlight and identify risk and opportunities by SKU level.
  • Provide insights to cross-functional areas of the business to improve efficiency. 

Reporting:  

  • Inventory accuracy analysis & reporting for corporate sites
  • Preparing reports and summaries for cross-functional departments
  • Establish and maintain proper records of inventory adjustments and other KPIs that can be shared on a monthly/quarterly/annual basis  

Execute/Develop Process 

  • Process and maintain inventory rules within PDI back office software tool
  • Translate operational inventory requirements into data models
  • Assist the team by executing current inventory management process parameters
  • Contribute to the implementation of continuous improvement of processes and analysis models 

Requirements:

  • Post-Secondary Business Degree and/or 3-5 years relevant experience in retail analytics.
  • Experience and knowledge working with a retail Back-office system. Preference for PDI back office.
  • Immediate knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including SharePoint and Power Pivots.
  • Working knowledge of some or all of the following software would be considered a strong asset: Tableau, PDI, Visual Studio, Power Builder, Power Query
  • Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize projects with minimal supervision.

  • Follow up with Category and Merchandising Managers on issues relating to short shipments, out-of-stocks, etc. and communicate to all parties concerned.
  • Effective and timely communications on all supply related issues such as but not limited to: supplier shortages, damages, late deliveries, product recalls.
  • Coordinate, analyze and challenge suppliers regarding in-bound receiving, with particular attention to minimum order quota and lead time requirements.
  • Facilitate timely and orderly delivery of product to maximize distribution center efficiencies.
  • Understand product specifications as determined by Product Development / Category Management for the intention of ensuring a high level of product integrity on a consistent basis.
  • Ensuring proper rotation and flow through of inventory in an effort to optimize product quality at all times
  • Effectively communicate Farm Boy Procurement Policies for product specifications in an effort to avoid disruptions to supply chain management.
  • Strict adherence to all Farm Boy policies and procedures as they pertain to replenishment in an effort to minimize issues created through both internal and external areas of supply chain.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of forecasting systems developed to facilitate replenishment responsibilities.

Qualifications

Position Summary

The Customer Demand Planning Manager serves as a key link between customers, sales teams, and internal supply chain teams and plays a critical role in enabling accurate, customer-centric forecasts. This role is responsible for owning the end-to-end demand planning process for key retail accounts, incorporating customer intelligence, promotional plans, and point-of-sale data to deliver a robust demand signal that supports service excellence and inventory health.

Key Responsibilities Include:


Forecasting & Planning

  • Develop and maintain rolling 18-month statistical and consensus forecasts at the SKU/customer level.
  • Integrate historical trends, customer insights, promotional calendars, and new product launches into the demand plan.
  • Monitor forecast performance, identify root causes of variance, and recommend corrective actions to improve accuracy and reduce bias.
  • Lead monthly customer volume reviews with sales teams to validate and adjust forecasts, ensuring alignment with key stakeholders.


Customer Engagement and Cross-Functional Partnership

Position Summary

The Customer Demand Planning Manager serves as a key link between customers, sales teams, and internal supply chain teams and plays a critical role in enabling accurate, customer-centric forecasts. This role is responsible for owning the end-to-end demand planning process for key retail accounts, incorporating customer intelligence, promotional plans, and point-of-sale data to deliver a robust demand signal that supports service excellence and inventory health.


This role requires strong analytical skills, cross-functional collaboration, and a customer-first mindset. The ideal candidate is passionate about turning data into insight, fostering partnerships, and continuously improving forecasting accuracy and planning processes.


Key Responsibilities Include:


Forecasting & Planning

  • Develop and maintain rolling 18-month statistical and consensus forecasts at the SKU/customer level.
  • Integrate historical trends, customer insights, promotional calendars, and new product launches into the demand plan.
  • Monitor forecast performance, identify root causes of variance, and recommend corrective actions to improve accuracy and reduce bias.
  • Lead monthly customer volume reviews with sales teams to validate and adjust forecasts, ensuring alignment with key stakeholders.


Customer Engagement and Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Act as the key point of contact between Demand Planning and the Sales teams, ensuring timely updates on changes in customer plans and market trends.
  • Represent Demand Planning in S&OP/IBP cycles and ensure alignment between demand plans and financial/operational targets.
  • Collaborate closely with Supply Planning to ensure demand plans translate into feasible supply plans, mitigating risks to service and inventory.
  • Participate in joint business planning and supply chain reviews with key customers. Ensure customer-specific supply chain KPIs (e.g., fill rate, OTIF, lead time) are consistently met or exceeded by identifying and implementing improvement opportunities.
  • Leverage POS and customer data systems (e.g., Retail Link, LDIA, LVRP) to drive insight-based forecasting.
  • Collaborate with customers to analyze inventory, consumption trends, and promotional effectiveness, providing actionable insights to enhance forecast accuracy and supply chain efficiency.


Leadership:

  • Drive demand planning process improvement, share best practices, and elevate forecasting discipline and execution across the organization.
  • Conduct in-depth analyses of customer inventory levels, POS trends, and forecast bias trends to continuously improve demand plans.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to optimize planning processes, including fill rate improvements, order management optimization, and lead-time reductions.
  • Influence planning of New Product Introduction, Discontinuations, Displays.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Operations Management, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in Demand Planning, Supply Chain, or related field preferably within the CPG, retail, or consumer healthcare sectors.
  • Proven experience managing forecasts for large customer accounts (e.g., Walmart, Shoppers Drug Mart, Loblaws).
  • Hands-on experience with forecasting software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Kinaxis, Oracle, JDA).
  • Advanced Excel and data analytics skills. Experience with Power BI or Tableau is an asset.
  • Knowledge of customer systems, including Walmart RetailLink and IRi, a strong asset.
