Purpose of the Role:
As the Supervisor, Materials Management, you will be a key player in Svantes journey to commercialization. You will have oversight of all materials management functions across Svantes locations, including, but not limited to, shipping, receiving, inventory management, stock-room set-up and ongoing management, inventory control and management of inbound and outbound logistics. Additionally, you will supervise a small team.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- You bring at least five years of experience in shipping, receiving, and facilities management, supported by relevant post-secondary education.
- You hold certifications including Forklift Operation and Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG).
- You bring a proactive mindset, excellent time management, and a keen attention to detail.
- You communicate effectively across verbal, written, and presentation formats, and you listen actively to build trust and credibility.
- You thrive both independently and in team environments, and you adapt well to change and high-pressure situations.
- You collaborate confidently with cross-functional teams and diverse stakeholders, demonstrating strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
- You think strategically and analytically, making sound recommendations and driving results.

What Success looks like in this role:
- You will manage the shipping and receiving of all goods and supplies.
- You will organize and store materials and supplies efficiently.
- You will assist the Facilities team in managing portable O2, Propane, and Nitrogen tanks.
- You will support the Facilities team in proper waste disposal and recycling of chemicals, equipment (electronics, mechanical, large), materials (metal, lightbulbs, wood), furniture, and more.
- You will support environmental health and safety across Svantes locations by identifying and mitigating potential hazards, maintaining organized Safety Data Sheets (SDS), and ensuring proper signage is in place throughout all facilities.
- You will maintain accurate inventory information in Business Central.
- You will coordinate with freight forwarders to manage Svante shipments both locally and internationally.
- This role is based at Svantes Redwood location; occasional travel to other Svante sites is required.

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration,Computer science, Operations Management, Management Information Technology or any other relevant field
2 to 5 years of experience in data management or analysis, ideally in a supply chain or planning environment
Excellent command of SQL; knowledge of Snowflake is considered an asset
Familiarity with analytical tools such as Power BI is an asset
Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment

Maintain on-hold log, responsible for product tagging and communication

Assist with the preparation and organization of Physical Inventory
Process Audit
