**Job Title: Inventory Control Specialist**
**Job Description**
Join our dynamic Inventory Control team where you will play a critical role in managing and moving products within our facility. You will be part of a close-knit team of about five people, responsible for conducting cycle counts, handling paperwork, and supporting shipping and receiving operations.
**Time - 12:00 AM to 8:30 AM**
**Pay rate - $21/hour**
**Responsibilities**
+ Conduct cycle counts and manage inventory within the facility.
+ Move products within the warehouse using a sit-down forklift.
+ Handle shipping and receiving duties as needed.
+ Manage and organize paperwork efficiently.
+ Operate a sit-down forklift to move pallets around the warehouse.
+ Work in a cooler environment to ensure product quality.
**Essential Skills**
+ Proficiency in operating a sit-down forklift with at least one year of experience.
+ Experience with inventory control and cycle counts.
+ Strong communication skills for handling paperwork.
+ Comfortable lifting up to 50 lbs and working in cooler temperatures.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Calgary, Alberta.

Gillfor Distribution is seeking a full-time, highly motivated, and experienced Inventory Analyst for our Head Office currently located in Bolton Ontario. The Gillfor Inventory Analyst is a key support role working closely with the leadership team and Division Managers to optimize inventory allocation, replenishment methods, forecast accuracy and to manage the measurement of key performance indicators and continuous improvement in those areas.

Inventory Analysis

  • Work within the parameters and budget provided by the executive team to create inventory strategies that optimize the profitability of each product line.
  • Support the VP of Strategic Development and VP of Sales and Operations with critical insights
  • Conduct in-depth analysis and provide actionable recommendations.

Collaboration and Engagement

  • Interface directly with branches, utilizing feedback to drive forecasting and inventory guidance.
  • Develop sustainable replenishment methods for branches across multiple product lines.
  • Provide insights to the National Programs Director on vendor improvements for optimizing inventories.

KPIs and Reporting

  • Develop and Track Key Performance Indices in inventory, replenishment and turns.

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, logistics, operations management, or a related field
  • 5+ years in a leadership role related to inventory or logistics management
  • Prior ERP systems experience (Sage 100 preferred)
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel
  • Experience implementing Lean and Six Sigma
  • Willing to travel within North America

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Inventory Manager to oversee and manage inventory control operations for our manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate inventory records, efficient inventory flow, and alignment with production and procurement schedules. This role requires a strong understanding of supply chain logistics, inventory systems, and demand forecasting within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure optimal stock levels for production and distribution.
  • Develop and implement inventory control procedures and best practices.
  • Coordinate with procurement, production, and warehousing teams to ensure material availability.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records using ERP or inventory management software.
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and full physical inventories; reconcile any variances.
  • Analyze inventory trends and identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement.
  • Track and report key performance metrics related to purchasing, costs and inventory levels.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, quality guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
  • Generate reports on inventory status, forecast accuracy, and material usage.
  • Manage obsolete, slow-moving, and excess inventory and develop strategies for disposition.
  • Train and supervise inventory staff or warehouse personnel, if applicable.


Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in inventory management, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of inventory software.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing, Just-in-Time (JIT), and other inventory optimization methodologies.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certification in inventory management or supply chain (e.g., CPIM, CSCP).
  • Experience with automation tools and warehouse management systems (WMS).
  • Background in data analysis or logistics planning.

About the Role
As Inventory Controller, you will monitor and manage inventory accuracy across our Canadian stores and warehouse operations. You will play a key role in supporting stock availability, loss prevention, and process improvements through strong data analysis and collaboration with stores, e-commerce, and logistics teams.

Key Responsibilities:   

  • Track and analyze inventory data from stores and warehouses to identify discrepancies, trends, and opportunities

  • Manage daily and weekly stock reporting using Excel and internal systems

  • Investigate variances in physical vs. system inventory and recommend corrective actions

  • Collaborate with store operations, logistics partners, and merchandising teams to resolve inventory issues

  • Support physical inventory counts, cycle counts, and audit processes

  • Assist in implementing process improvements and control measures to reduce stock loss and improve accuracy

  • Provide clear inventory guidelines and training materials to store and warehouse teams

  • Additional duties as assigned

 Desired Skills and Experience:   

  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, vlookup, formulas, and data analysis)

  • 3–5 years of experience in inventory control, supply chain, or store operations

  • 1-2 years of previous experience in retail, inventory, or warehouse operations is a strong asset
  • experience with inventory management systems or ERP software is an asset

Responsibilities

  • I nventory Management including ordering, receiving, and putting away product
  • Maintaining a clean and safe warehouse
  • Assisting with loading and unloading delivery trucks
  • Aiding customers with carry-outs
  • Safely operating a Culligan vehicle to make hotshot deliveries
  • Assisting customers in person and on the phone in a professional manner
What we're looking for:
  • Secondary School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Previous customer service and inventory/warehouse experience required
  • Intermediate computer knowledge required
  • Class 5 License required
  • Forklift experience required
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to consistently lift 50lb
