**Position Description**
The Inventory Specialist supports Milwaukee Canada's Factory Service Centers (FSCs) by driving parts availability, optimizing inventory levels, and reducing repairs on hold due to missing components. This role plays a key part in improving repair turnaround times through effective inventory management, data-driven analysis, and cross-functional collaboration. The Inventory Specialist will work closely with both Canadian and U.S. service teams to monitor part health, manage stock levels, and maintain accurate min/max settings to ensure service efficiency and operational continuity.
**What You Will Do**
+ Monitor open service orders and proactively identify opportunities to complete repairs using available in-house inventory
+ Coordinate sourcing of parts for branches, prioritize aging repairs, and oversee "Share the Spare" part requests across Canadian and U.S. locations.
+ Leverage Power BI scorecard data and usage trends to reduce tool holds and enable single-touch repairs
+ Perform regular reviews of min/max settings and lead deep dives into obsolete or discontinued SKUs to support scrap optimization and reduce dead stock.
+ Maintain strong working relationships with U.S. Product Service teams to stay informed of SKU transitions
+ Participate in weekly health calls to address Canadian inventory issues, and action scrap requests as needed
+ Support inventory accuracy through backorder reviews, participation in Oracle cycle counts, and training of Branch Managers on inventory procedures and best practices.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

The Inventory Specialist is responsible for managing and organizing companys inventory, ensure materials, products and supplies are properly accounted for, stored, and distributed.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Ensure accurate replenishment and inventory
  • Oversee accuracy of materials issuances by Stock Room
  • Resolve inventory discrepancies. Monitor negative inventory on a weekly basis and reconcile discrepancies
  • Monthly physical inventory counts and review and analyze inventory discrepancies
  • Establish Min/Max levels and review/update every six months
  • Direct activities related to inventory usage: picking, packing and recording transactions in ERP system
  • Accountable for all inventory transactions
  • Put away Stock Room items
  • Coordinate work orders with the Planning Team, print and provide the picking lists
  • Prioritize kitting and kit assembly, monitor kit releases, audit kits to maintain traceability of backorders
  • Review and report backorders for daily analysis for kitting; provide feedback to Senior Planner for customer commitment purposes
  • Updating and publishing metrics
  • Maintain visual management in Stock Room including Work/Planning status white boards
  • Work with Planning, Procurement and Supply Chain to ensure that the inventory levels and turns for items in stockroom are optimized
  • Adhere to proper inventory procedures and materials management processes, including reconciliation of cycle counts and annual physical inventory
  • Develop and implement continuous improvement projects and procedures to improve systems, processes, inventory accuracy and schedule support
  • Controlling quality standards in stores by following Stores QC Procedure which involves spot checking the contents of a packaged box and compared to the pick list to check for errors
  • Lead one continuous improvement project per year
  • Bin management: part number labels, maintain Kanban replenishment, rotate old with newer stock, moving frequently issued parts to lower shelves
  • Maintaining Stores 5S housekeeping includes sweeping, emptying garbage cans, cleaning work areas
  • Responsible for safety and ensuring best practices are followed
  • Other duties as assigned



QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:



  • Minimum 2 to 5 years experience in a similar position
  • Demonstrated understanding of MRP, LEAN, KAIZEN inventory, and production principles
  • Proficiency Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Previous D365 experience is an asset
  • Previous exposure to Lean and 5S manufacturing practices.
  • Understanding of Kanban and inventory systems.
  • Post-Secondary school education in related field an asset.
  • Forklift certification or experience an asset
  • Able to lift a maximum of 50 lbs. repetitively
  • Must be able to work on both established shifts as required
  • Available to work overtime hours as required
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada

Manage and control the replenishment of stock at Distributor's warehouses, analysis of inventory movements, to ensure inventory level in the supply chain is at manageable level, and no run or overstock situation and product freshness in the trade. Develop & implement overhead budgets to define cost boundaries for an efficient warehouse operation. Ensure cost targets are met via efficient utilization of equipment, workforce and utilities. Monitor and control materials wastage and variance to generate productivity savings.
+ Be accountable for strong governance & compliance requirements (warehouse audits, ISO, FSSC, Quality management system audits etc.) to be in place, Be a champion to meet and/or exceed Safety & Quality requirements and driving ownership among teams.

Qualifications

Reporting to the Operations Site Manager or designate, we are seeking a talented Inventory Coordinator who will be responsible for ensuring the facility has all the products, materials, equipment, and supplies needed to operate efficiently.   The successful candidate will:    * Plan and prepare transfers between facilities; * Manage and order CHEP Portfolios; * Reconcile Book-to-Book balances between Nulogy and Customer ERP; * Ensure inventory record accuracy by performing specific inventory counts; * Prepare and Lead client inventory audits; * Perform inventory checks and audits on production lines; * Prepare POD Case Labels for production; * Order and manage all non-inventory production related items; * Perform daily cycle counts, track, and report metrics; * Resolving any STO issues by contacting the various counterparts & IT; * Investigate any BOM issues to understand the difference, if any, and request for inventory adjustments; * Investigate issues on blocked invoices, as requested by Finance Department; * Manage destruction list supplied by customer and manage adjustments; * Research and correct problems related to inaccurate inventory shipments or levels; * Identify discrepancies in the inventory records and conduct analysis to determine cause of count error; * Communicate with customers & suppliers for inventory related functions; * Coordinate with third party companies to work through transactional outages; * Change and assess the packaging inventory status when requested by the Planning Manager/Customer due to urgent order/demand; * Receive daily supplier delivery receipts; * Process returns shipments of non-conforming materials back to suppliers; * Coordinate & report weekly / monthly inventory levels of consumable materials; * Verify count and condition of materials as per receipt notes of receiving team; * Other duties as assigned by management.   Education/Work experience requirements: * High school diploma or equivalent (bachelor’s degree or College Diploma in Business, Purchasing or Related Courses an asset); * Minimum 2 years’ experience in Inventory and Accounting (food processing or food packaging environment preferred); * Experience using SAP, or any ERP & MRP systems to track inventory; * Experience using Nulogy and Blue Yonder is an asset; * Knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials movement preferred.   Key technical & behavioural competencies: * Excellent problem solving, analytical and organization skills; * Strong attention to detail; * Effective written and verbal communication skills; * Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) proficiency.   We thank all candidates for their interest; however only those most qualified will be contacted.

Job Description

The Stores Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Stores Department to ensure efficient material handling, accurate inventory control, and seamless support for site operations. This role leads a team of 3 storekeepers across two shifts and plays a key role in maintaining stock integrity, coordinating vendor relations, and supporting procurement activities. A solid understanding of mechanical parts related to heavy equipment, trucks, and trailers is essential to effectively support maintenance and operational needs. 

What you're responsible for:

  • Supervising daily operations of the Stores Department across two shifts, ensuring adequate coverage and workflow efficiency 
  • Providing direct leadership and guidance to a team of storekeepers 
  • Monitoring and managing inventory levels using Maximo ERP system to maintain accurate records and prevent stockouts 
  • Generating and analyzing monthly inventory reports to support forecasting and replenishment planning 
  • Managing annual inventory count process; Organizing and participating in periodic cycle counts and year end inventory audit 
  • Executing reorders for consumables, spare parts, and critical components based on usage and lead times 
  • Maintaining working knowledge of mechanical components and systems commonly used in heavy equipment, trucks, and trailers to assist in accurate part identification and substitutions 
  • Collaborating with the Procurement team to maintain vendor relationships, source product alternatives, and resolve supply issues 
  • Working closely with accounting to investigate and correct inventory-related invoicing discrepancies and provide approval of freight invoices associated with inventory purchases 
  • Collaborating with the inventory management team in Montreal 
  • Overseeing all inbound and outbound shipping and receiving activities to ensure proper documentation and timely processing 
  • Ensuring the department remains clean, well-organized, and compliant with workplace safety standards 
  • Promoting and enforcing safe working practices and procedures within the Stores team 
Qualifications

To join our team:

  • You have 3+ years of experience in inventory management, warehousing, or supply chain operations; supervisory experience preferred 
  • You are familiar with mechanical parts and systems for heavy equipment, trucks, and trailers. 
  • You are proficiency with ERP systems (Maximo strongly preferred) 
  • You have a strong understanding of inventory control principles and procurement processes. 
  • You have experience with shipping/receiving and vendor coordination 
  • You have effective communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills 
  • You can work independently and manage shifting priorities across multiple tasks 
  • You have a valid G drivers license and willingness to travel 
  • You have previous experience operating a forklift is (preferred)
