About the Opportunity

Our client, a leading Toronto-based healthcare organization, is seeking a Senior Financial Consultant to join their Financial Reporting team for a 12-month maternity leave contract. Reporting to the Manager of Accounting & Compliance, this role plays a key part in preparing financial statements, completing balance sheet reconciliations, and supporting high-profile audit and regulatory reporting projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and support month-end and quarter-end close
  • Assist in finalizing year-end financial statements and responding to external auditor requests
  • Complete provincial financial consolidations and reporting for regulatory submissions
  • Contribute to budgeting and forecasting processes related to the balance sheet
  • Use tools such as SAP, Adaptiv, and Excel (including PivotTables and VLOOKUPs) for reporting

Qualifications

  • Experience in a hospital, healthcare, or not-for-profit environment
  • 5+ years of experience with month-end / quarter-end close and balance sheet
  • Proficiency in Excel (VLOOKUPs, PivotTables required)
  • Experience with SAP and / or Adaptiv Planning
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work independently in a flat team structure

    • Handle administrative duties such as managing client information, processing paperwork, and coordinating with different departments.
    • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and adhere to company policies and procedures.
    • Participate in continuing education and training programs to stay current with industry standards and trends.

    • Post Secondary education in related field.
    • Relevant financial licenses (CSC, CPH, CIM, CFP).
    • Proven experience in wealth management or a related field.

    • Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office Suite.
    • High level of integrity and professionalism.
