As our POWER MARKET SECTOR LEAD, you will join our Revenue and Growth team, reporting to the Vice President of Business Development. This position is open to any location across Canada, with a preference towards a candidate in close proximity to any of our 17 office locations.
The successful applicant will be involved in a broad range of growth-related activities with responsibilities as follows:
- Work with our revenue and growth team to define key accounts for this sector
- Drive growth through the development and execution of key account action plans
- Lead large bid submissions, including defining value propositions and developing effective pricing strategies
- Manage the business development funnel in this sector to align with growth targets
- Continue to complete chargeable work by providing technical oversight on strategic projects being executed within this sector and across the business in areas that align with the successful applicants area of expertise (seller-doer model)
- Acquire and analyze sector-specific market data, provide strategic insights about the range of market, business and/or economic issues likely to impact this sector, and develop plans to respond to emerging issues and changing trends
- Leverage existing client relationships and cultivate new relationships to generate business development opportunities
- Support contract negotiation and supply chain management interactions for key accounts
- Identify and mitigate reputational and commercial risk associated with our services in this sector
- Collaborate with Matrix’s technical and operations leadership functions to attract and retain talent required to execute on growth strategies

What We Are Looking For
- Proven track record of success in executing growth strategies for environmental and/or engineering services in the Power sector
- Strong business development skills
- Existing client relationships in the Power sector
- Demonstrated leadership and communication skills in a collaborative environment
- At least 15 years professional Power sector experience in progressively more senior positions with business development responsibilities
- Strong understanding of the Power sector within Canada including specific expertise related to environmental and/or engineering services for renewables, gas-fired generation, energy storage, and transmission
- Perspectives on the regulatory frameworks and economic drivers around power sector growth in different jurisdictions in Canada in the coming years (power purchase agreements, investment tax credits, power markets, renewable energy certificates, carbon pricing, etc.)
- A valid and clean driver’s license with no restrictions.
