Position Overview
Amphenol is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Product Development Engineer to lead the design and development of OSFP and other high-speed front-end I/O connectors. This role is pivotal in advancing connectivity solutions for next-generation AI/ML platforms and high-bandwidth data center applications. The engineer will serve as the technical owner of the OSFP form factor, driving innovation, customer engagement, and cross-functional execution.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Innovation
- Lead concept generation, design, and qualification of OSFP and other high-speed I/O connectors for 112Gb+ signaling.
- Develop connectors optimized for AI/ML workloads with emphasis on signal integrity, mechanical robustness, and thermal efficiency.
- Apply advanced design techniques for low latency, high-density packaging, and manufacturability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure system-level integration and compliance with industry standards (e.g., OSFP, QSFP-DD, PCIe).
Testing & Validation
- Define and execute rigorous testing protocols for electrical, mechanical, and environmental performance.
- Perform Design FMEA, Tolerance Analysis, DFM, FEA (ANSYS preferred), and Risk Analysis.
- Work with internal labs and external partners to validate performance in real-world environments.
Project Management
- Manage development projects from concept through production, including timelines, deliverables, and cross-functional coordination.
- Maintain clear documentation and communication across engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams.
- Support NPI and transition to manufacturing.
Customer Engagement
- Act as the primary technical interface for OSFP-related customer engagements.
- Translate customer requirements into actionable design goals and provide support during design reviews, prototyping, and field validation.
- Present product concepts early in the development cycle and incorporate feedback into design iterations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- 5+ years of experience in connector or high-speed product development.
- Proficiency in CAD tools (SolidWorks, Creo) and simulation software (ANSYS).
- Strong understanding of signal integrity, EMI/EMC, and thermal management.
- Experience with materials and manufacturing processes including stamping, plating, molding, and assembly.
- Excellent communication skills with global teams and customers.

- Be part of a multi-disciplinary team supporting the design for greenfield and brownfield land development projects of high complexity.
- With guidance, prepare designs for site grading and site servicing including water distribution, sanitary sewers, storm water management, shallow utilities, and erosion control design.
- Support in the preparation of construction drawings, and technical reports.
- Complete tasks including the preparation of utility alignments and profiles, cut and fill calculations, waste water and storm sewer flows, and noise attenuation studies.
- Liaise with municipalities and other approving authorities to advocate for client objectives.
- Build and foster relationships with clients, consultants, municipal, and provincial approving authorities.
- Participate in quality assurance and quality control reviews for various deliverables.
- Gain valuable hands-on experience as an on-site observer for active construction projects, liaising with contractors, surveyors, and municipal inspectors.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Must have a basic understanding of civil engineering principles including site grading, sanitary and storm sewer servicing, water servicing, shallow utility coordination, roadway, lot design, as well as a general understanding of stormwater engineering concepts.

Education and Experience
- An undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
- Registered as an Engineer (P.Eng. or P.L.(Eng.)) in the Province of Alberta and in good standing.
- Minimum of 4 years of industry experience recommended.
This position will be located in our Lethbridge office. Relocation assistance could be offered to the selected candidate.

We are looking for an experienced Build Engineer to join our team to work on this exciting platform.
This is a remote position open to residents of North America .
As a Build Engineer on our team, you will be helping us build our products across multiple platforms.
Our day to day work practices are centered around GitHub, pull requests, code review, CI for testing, and agile development with Pivotal Tracker as our project management tool. We’re always looking to improve our practices and we expect you to help us to do so.
Our team is scattered around the US and Canada, so we coordinate with each other and the rest of the company using Slack for chat, Highfive for video calls and screen sharing, Pivotal Tracker, and Google Drive.
We like to use open source software whenever possible, and we also like to contribute back to the open source ecosystem. We embrace open sourcing both libraries and tools developed in-house as long as those are not mission-critical code.
