**What you'll bring to WSP:**
+ A Masters degree (or equivalent education) in Hydrogeology, Environmental/Earth Science, Geology, Environmental Engineering, or similar program. A specialization in groundwater modelling through coursework or project/thesis is preferred.
+ Eligibility to register as either a Geoscientist-In-Training (GIT), Engineer-In-Training (EIT), Certified Technician (C.Tech.) or Certified Engineering Technician (CET) in the Province of Ontario
+ Experience with hydrogeological analysis (for example, the use of AQTESOLV or similar)
+ Experience in the development and application of numerical modelling tools/approaches in groundwater
+ Experience with MODFLOW, FEFLOW, HydroGeoSphere, etc.
+ Experience using Python, SQL for data analysis
+ An unrestricted full Class G Driver's License (or equivalent) that is valid in the province of Ontario, a clean Driver's Abstract and access to a vehicle.
+ Strong computer skills including proficiency with the MS Office suite of products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities and Duties*

  • Record day-to-day financial transactions and complete the posting process.

  • Actively monitor financial transactions and reports (inventory, POs, unpaid bills).
  • Ensure efficient functioning and documentation for all financial systems including receipts, disbursements, billing, bookkeeping, and accounting
  • Process accounts receivable and payable in a timely manner.
  • Handle payroll responsibilities working in close collaboration with our payroll provider ADP to deliver accurate and timely, bi-weekly payroll input including updated employee data and sharing reimbursable expense amounts to be added to paychecks.
  • Support the accountants in ensuring monthly, quarterly, year-end processes & claims are completed in a timely manner to ensure accurate financial reporting
  • Adhere to corporate policies and procedures for internal controls
  • Maintain appropriate files, reports, documentation, and data and proactively administer our QBO.
  • Uphold internal control and safeguards for receipt of revenue, costs, budgets, and actual expenditures, including contracts, leases and insurance policies

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Post Secondary Degree or Certificate in accounting or business administration. Excellent knowledge of general accounting principles.
  • Minimum of one year of relevant bookkeeping experience
  • Experience in working with multiple cross-border legal entities is an asset
  • Must possess strong verbal & written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated aptitude for working with numbers and tying data to business success
  • Excellent time management, prioritization, and organizational ability
  • Able to prepare, review, and understand a financial statement.
  • Strong work ethic with a personal drive
  • Experience preparing government grants would be an asset
  • Ability to be flexible and remain calm while working with tight deadlines

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Junior Estimator is responsible for corporate estimating, team staffing as well as tactical and strategic direction that will provide the client with accurate estimates of cost through internal and strategic source pricing.

KEY FOCUS

  • Prepare and outline costs associated with the production of store fixtures by analyzing blueprints and specifications, compiling material costs, estimating labor costs, requesting and collecting subcontractor pricing, calculating installation and delivery cost, and lastly finalizing, logging and submitting bids.
  • Develop global staffing, philosophies, strategies and tactics that maximize efficiencies of both internal and external (supplier) pricing and rewards suppliers for their pricing efforts.
  • Leverage the ERP system or other processes, to drive standardization in the quoting process.
  • Utilize understanding of color and material specifications, charts, or manuals for individual projects for cost and pricing analysis.

  • Liaise with Project Management, Purchasing and Production to determine best methods and materials for manufacturing as well as placements strategy for outsourcing.
  • Liaison with production to perform time studies, learn new manufacturing methods and processes to reduce costs and improve quality.
  • Liaise with purchasing department to investigate new suppliers and new innovative cost reducing materials.
  • Liaise with purchasing department and project management to onboard new suppliers and create an effort based reward system for suppliers based on their success in winning business.
  • Prepare reports to illustrate quote win/loss ratios by customer.
  • Maintain visually controlled schedule of incoming quote requests.
  • Analyze results of job cost studies to determine accuracy of estimate.

Requirements

  • Related Degree in Business, Accounting, Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 2-5 years experience of wood and/or metal manufacture in the store fixture industry. Construction experience is considered an asset.
  • Must have an aptitude for mathematics. Be able to quickly analyze, compare, and interpret detailed and sometimes poorly defined information, and be able to make sound and accurate judgments based on best available information.
  • Costing or Estimating background with an emphasis on building systems.
  • Demonstrated hands-on shop floor experience in both metal and wood manufacture.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing or process engineering, electrical, lighting, finishing aspects of wood and metal fabrication, design, detail, engineering and bill of material generation.
  • Computer literacy with knowledge of ERP.

The Finance team at Glasshouse Systems is looking for an Junior Controller. As an Junior Controller, you will be working under the direction of the Director of Finance to support the accounting management operations, financial reporting, and internal controls.



Responsibilities:
  • Support month-end financial close activities.
  • Collaborate with departments to gather input and validate assumptions to support financial decision-making.
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with accounting framework.
  • Perform and review account reconciliations and journal entries during the month-end and year-end close process.
  • Help manage general ledger accuracy, accruals, prepaids, and intercompany transactions.
  • Assist in coordinating the annual audit process, liaising with external auditors and internal stakeholders.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis activities.
  • Prepare recurring and ad-hoc financial reports for internal stakeholders and to support senior management decisions.
  • Monitor internal controls and identify opportunities for efficiency and automation.
  • Maintain and ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures.

  • Build and maintain networks of potential candidates for assigned business areas
  • Develop a talent pipeline of internal and external talents
  • Identify hard-to-fill roles and source innovative channels for recruitment
  • Manage posting of job vacancies using the best-performing recruitment channels
  • Schedule, conduct and score phone and face-to-face candidate interviews, and interpret assessment results
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders at local schools, colleges and universities, and participate in career fairs, job fairs, etc., to promote as an employer of choice, increase talent brand awareness, and provide information about opportunities available
  • Develop recruitment reports and trends in recruitment that will determine best places to recruit
  • Provide talent analytics, tracking candidate pipelines, quality of hire, time to fill, etc.
