What will you be doing?
As a Kitchen Assistant , you will prepare nutritious meals for breakfast, lunch, and snacks for the children in our care. When you are not preparing food, serving meals, or cleaning, you will work in the classrooms to assist our teachers. Responsibilities include:
• Organizing orders for food as needed.
• Serving meals from a catered service provided daily.
• Ensuring safety and sanitization in the kitchen environment as per Public Health requirements.
• Understanding dietary restrictions in centre for individual children.
• Washing dishes after meals.
• Other duties as assigned.

Overview:
Kitchen Assistant
We are looking for an experienced and creative kitchen assistant to join our team at Ena Lake Lodge for the 2025 season, a luxury fishing lodge that hosts up to 12 guests per visit in 6 individual cabins. You will be responsible for assisting with all aspects of food preparation and service, ensuring quality, consistency, and customer satisfaction. You will also collaborate with the lodge chef, front-of-house staff, managers, and owners to provide a seamless dining experience for our guests.

Responsibilities and Duties of this position include:
- Maintain the Ena Lake Core Values in all aspects of the ELLFC program delivery.
- Assist the head chef in daily food preparation and cooking.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including washing dishes, utensils, and equipment.
- Prepare ingredients by washing, peeling, chopping, and slicing as needed.
- Ensure all food items are properly stored and labeled.
- Assist in inventory management and stock rotation.
- Follow food safety and hygiene standards at all times.
- Help with plating and presentation of meals.
- Support the kitchen team in any other tasks as required.
- Well-groomed and punctual for each shift.
Qualifications and Skills for this position include:
- Hardworking, positive and friendly personality with a professional demeanor.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Creative and passionate about a great customer experience.
- Honest and responsible.
- Ability to work both independently and as a Team.
- Prior work experience at a fishing lodge, remote location, camp and/or previous job experience in the tourism industry is preferred.
- Prior kitchen experience would be a considerable asset.
Working Conditions:
- This position is in a remote location in Northern Saskatchewan, this type of culinary work is challenging and successful team members are naturally motivated by a passion for food service and creating memorable experiences with our guests.
- Able to lift, carry up to 20 pounds on an occasional basis.
- Manual dexterity to operate job specific equipment on a constant basis.
