**Job Title: Chemical Preparation Technician**
**Job Description**
We are seeking a skilled Chemical Preparation Technician to join our team. This role involves the preparation of sensor print mixes, stock solutions, and other chemical mixtures for sensor and test card assembly processes. The technician will produce chemical mixtures and calibration fluid to be used in manufacturing, following standard operating procedures. Observing proper sanitization standards and PPE use while performing tasks is essential.
**Responsibilities**
Prioritize daily tasks based on necessity and inventory to complete tasks in a timely manner.
Plan chemical production to maintain consistent output.
Keep precise written and electronic quantitative records of mixes produced, following general good documentation protocols.
Maintain general laboratory cleanliness and organization.
Maintain daily laboratory instruments, including analytical balances, hotplates, sonicators, micropipettes, and a variety of benchtop glassware.
**Essential Skills**
Chemical handling and mixing.
Laboratory experience.
Quality control and GMP practices.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
Flexibility to work overtime, on-call, and/or on different rotating shifts as required.
Ability to consistently execute routine, yet detailed chemical preparations.

**Work Environment**
Working in a lab and on the production floor at our Brookfield facility. The training shift to start will be Monday to Friday from 7 AM to 3 PM, and after that, it will either be Sunday to Wednesday or Wednesday to Saturday from 7 AM to 5 PM or 2 PM to midnight. Shifts are 10 hours. This is a fully onsite role, 40 hours a week, which may include some overtime and on-call duties.

**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $21.44 - $23.58/hr.

**Position Summary**

We are looking for a **Lab Technician** based at our **London Ice Cream Factory,** reporting into the **Quality Assurance Supervisor.** This role is part of the Quality Assurance team and will be responsible to perform various lab analyses, document results, and contribute to a safe and quality product for our consumers.

**A day in the life of a Lab Technician:**

- Follow all job-related guidelines and procedures for personal safety, food safety, environment and company security (including but not limited to use of PPE’s, Hazard Analysis, chemical spills, recycling …) as required. Be a role model for Quality and GMP’s.
- Work in a manner that provides maximum safety to yourself and your fellow associates
- Follow NCE (Nestlé Continuous Excellence) principles
- Perform routine lab analysis and QA duties following the Quality procedures and standards including:
- Analyze samples, including micro plating and chemical analysis
- Document results (e.g. in SAP) and organize test results for records review and analysis
- Calibrate and maintain lab equipment, including housekeeping, cleaning, and 5S
- Perform daily records review of raw material, in-process, and finished product quality data
- Responsible for the release of materials meeting quality specifications
- Perform test on pre-operational microbiological samples, review test results, coordinate any corrective actions, and manage test data
- Communicate results to other departments within factory
- Responsible for blocking of any product that does not meet quality specifications
- Work with other departments to initiate corrective actions and conduct root cause investigations
- Responsible for sensory panels and any other sensory-related duties
- Adhere to Quality Monitoring Scheme (QMS) and put corrective action in place in case of deviation.
- Responsible for managing, updating and ensuring synergy between SAP, DMO and QMS.
- Responsible for tasks associated with compliance to Nestle internal standards, as well as external standards
- Know and adhere to GMP’s to prevent product contamination with foreign materials, bacteria or allergens;
- Champion a non-negotiable attitude for Quality and Safety
- Other duties as assigned by management.

- B.Sc. in biology, microbiology, Chemistry, nutrition or science/food related field or a College diploma in science/food related field
- Relevant work experience in a laboratory environment
- Experience in analytical methods and have the ability to accurately perform various physical, chemical and microbiological testing.

- Excellent communication skills to be able to effectively communicate within the department and with other departments via emails, in person, or on the phone.
- Great attention to details is a must. Any failure can pose risks to Quality or Food Safety.

A SP Technician involved in the conduct of a GLP study must be knowledgeable in those parts of the Principles of GLP, which are applicable to their involvement in the study. SP Technicians will have access to the Study Plan and appropriate SOPs applicable to their involvement in the study. It is the SP Technician’s responsibility to comply with the instructions given in these documents. Any deviation from these instructions should be documented and communicated directly to the Study Director, and/or, if appropriate, the Principal Investigator(s). A SP Technician is responsible for recording raw data promptly and accurately and in compliance with the Principles of GLP, and is responsible for the quality of the data.

The SP Technician should exercise health precautions to minimize risk to her/himself and to ensure the integrity of the study. Key Responsibilities
  • Ceramic Artistry & Aesthetics
    • Apply expert layering techniques for crowns, bridges, veneers, and implant-supported restorations to achieve natural aesthetics and translucency.
    • Perform precise shade matching and custom staining to replicate natural tooth characteristics, ensuring seamless integration with patient dentition.
  • Expertise
    • Work proficiently with various ceramic systems including lithium disilicate, zirconia, and feldspathic porcelains. Select appropriate materials based on clinical requirements.
    • Nice to have: CAD/CAM design experience and technical ability to complete cases from start to finish
  • Collaboration
    • Work directly with prosthodontists and CAD/CAM designers to interpret clinical requirements, discuss aesthetic goals, and maintain top-quality standards.
    • Participate in chairside consultations to evaluate shade, form, and aesthetics directly in the patient's mouth and work alongside prosthodontists during try-ins to make real-time adjustments and refinements.
  • Quality Control & Case Management
    • Inspect all ceramic work for accuracy in contour, occlusion, and aesthetics before final delivery.
    • Maintain organized workspace and assist in tracking case progress through the ceramic finishing stages.
Qualifications & Expectations
  • RDT in BC
    • Registered Dental Technician (RDT) or equivalent with ceramics specialty preferred, or equivalent experience and demonstrated expertise in ceramic work.
  • Experience
    • Minimum 5+ years of hands-on ceramic layering and staining experience.
    • Proven expertise in anterior aesthetics, complex shade matching, and full-mouth rehabilitation cases.
    • Nice to have: CAD/CAM design experience and technical ability to complete cases from start to finish
  • Technical Proficiency
    • Expert knowledge of ceramic handling and finishing techniques.
    • Proficiency with various ceramic systems and their specific handling requirements.

    • Exceptional eye for color, translucency, and natural tooth morphology.

About the Role

As part of our strategic expansion, we are currently seeking a Lab Technician or Assistant to join our Media Production team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and sterilizing biological media and buffers according to standardized protocols, supporting our R&D and production departments. This is a hands-on lab role that requires strong attention to detail, the ability to follow SOPs, and a commitment to quality and cleanliness in a fast-paced laboratory environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare cell culture media, buffers, and reagents following strict formulations and quality guidelines
  • Operate autoclaves, pH meters, balances, and other laboratory equipment for media preparation
  • Label, dispense, and store media and solutions accurately and safely
  • Maintain detailed production records and batch documentation
  • Clean, sterilize, and organize labware and production areas to ensure compliance with safety and quality standards
  • Assist with inventory control of raw materials and supplies
  • Support other lab and production activities as needed

Qualifications:

  • Diploma or Bachelors degree in a Life Sciences field (eg. Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology)
  • Previous co-op or work experience in the biotech industry highly preferred
  • Prior lab experience or training in a production or academic laboratory setting is an asset
  • Comfortable working with sterile techniques and laboratory equipment
  • Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail
  • Ability to follow written procedures and maintain accurate records
  • Team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Physically able to lift containers (up to ~20kg) and stand for extended periods

Work Location

  • Onsite at our headquarters in Richmond, BC.
  • The successful candidate must be available to start onsite from the first day of employment. No relocation allowance will be provided.

Job Description

Initial training for this position will take place in Toronto, ON.

  • Demonstrates and promotes the company vision.
  • Ensures regular attendance and punctuality.

  • Adheres to all health, safety, and environmental regulations relative to assigned analytical work; maintains and assists others in maintaining a clean, safe work environment.
  • Registers incoming samples as needed, maintains a neat and accurate record system of work performed on a daily basis, and as needed for quality control tests or regulatory purposes.
  • Enters sample data into Eurofins eLIMS system in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Completes laboratory testing on all incoming samples accurately, efficiently, and in a timely manner; ensures sample turnaround time goals are met or exceeded.
  • Verifies results and submits them to the appropriate personnel for transmission in a timely manner.
  • Identifies process difficulties and reports these, along with proposed solutions, to the supervisor.
  • Maintains a perpetual state of readiness and willingness to respond to the queries and needs of clients, staff, and co-workers.
  • Maintains cooperative working relationships with all company employees. Communicates orally and in writing to co-workers, including intra- and inter-departmental employees.
  • Promotes the company image through the exercising of sound and ethical business practices related to the public and our customers.

Qualifications

  • 1–2 years of microbiology laboratory experience required.

  • Troubleshooting skills required for instrument maintenance.

  • Technical knowledge of applicable test methods.

Working Conditions:

This is a laboratory environment with the majority of time spent standing and working at a lab bench. Hazardous materials are handled using established safety procedures and appropriate PPE. Lifting requirements may apply. Extra hours, weekends, and evenings may be required as per business needs.

About the Role

As a Concrete Lab/Field Technician you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and durability of concrete used in construction projects. Your primary role will include daily visits to construction sites to collect samples and perform various tests on concrete mixes while working alongside engineers, contractors and other professionals. The position requires a strong understanding of concrete properties, testing methods and the ability to work collaboratively. Depending on your experience and qualifications, we may also consider you for other roles within the team. The incumbent will be working in the field and lab based in Woodbridge, ON.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
As a Concrete Lab/Field Technician, your duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • Conducting tests on concrete mixes to determine properties such as slump, air content, temperature and density;
  • Performing compression tests on concrete cylinders to assess strength characteristics;
  • Daily visits to various construction sites to collect samples;
  • Maintaining accurate records of all testing procedures and results;
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant codes, specifications and regulations; 
  • General concrete laboratory duties, including operating and maintaining testing equipment and tools;
  • Working outside and being exposed to changing weather conditions; and
  • Other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Civil engineering technology education or a closely related discipline;
  • Education in concrete technology will be considered an asset;
  • Previous experience is preferred;
  • CCIL certification is preferred, but not required;
  • Familiarity with relevant industry standards and codes;
  • Ability to operate concrete testing equipment such as slump cones, air meters and compression machines;
  • Good communication skills to interact with various stakeholders;
  • Good time management and organization skills;
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in recording and reporting test results;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • Access to a vehicle with full G driver’s license is required with good driving record (Driving Abstract required); 
  • Physical ability to lift and move testing equipment; and
  • Commitment to safety protocols and procedures.
