**Job Summary**
This position is responsible for assisting the Surgical team during operative procedures by performing a variety of technical duties to primarily assist in responsibility for the preparation and maintenance of the surgical sterile field for the obstetrical operative patient and/or her infant.
**Details of the position**
+ Arrange and inventories sterile set-up for operation and passes items as needed to the surgical team.
+ Understand and apply the principles of asepsis. Establish and maintain sterile field and assure team maintains sterile environment.
+ Assist in preparation and moving of patients.
+ Cleans, disinfects, and sterilizes instrumentation. Assists with clean-up and room turnover.
+ Access computer information as needed, such as preference lists and digital images.
+ Maintain unit supplies by requisitioning and receiving supplies then stocking patient rooms and supply areas to meet patient care needs. Inventory control.
+ Participates in all safety initiatives. Adheres to programs such as SCIP and SCOAP quality initiatives.
**What you bring**
+ Required: Accredited Program, Surgical Technology. or recognized course of training as a Surgical Technologist.
+ Preferred: Minimum of 1 year experience as a surgical technologist with obstetrical and gynecologic surgeries.
+ Required : Surgical Technician - Washington.

+ Required Upon Hire: Basic Life Support

Job Summary

Essential Functions
+ Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care needs.
+ Documents patient care in the healthcare record according to established standards.
+ Directs and delegates care to other team members in accordance with their education, credentials, and demonstrated competence.
+ Ensures own professional effectiveness through education and professional development.
+ Participates in the development of and maintains established hospital policies, procedures and objectives, quality improvement, safety, environmental and infection prevention program.
+ Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education
+ Required: Degree from an Accredited School of Nursing
+ Preferred: Specialty certification
+ Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing
Experience
+ Required: One year of recent Labor & Delivery experience or currently oriented and can provide care independently within the department.
Credentials
+ Required: Registered Nurse
+ Required: Upon Hire Basic Life Support
+ Required: ACLS according to Resuscitation Training Completion Requirements policy. NRP within six months of hire or transfer date. If this is a training position Fetal Heart Surveillance Course is required within 1 year of hire.
Skills
+ Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to apply age specific principles of growth and development and life stages to meet each patient's needs. (Required)

CVOS Oral Surgery is looking for experienced Patient Care Representatives/Dental Receptionists who are committed to providing the best experience to patients.


We offer a positive, co-operative environment where teamwork is key. Unlike other dental offices, we are not open evenings or weekends which allows for a more balanced work life.


This is a full timeposition that will be guaranteed 30 hours per week, but averages 40+ hours. You will be required to work in our clinics throughout Halton and Mississauga, so if you don't mind travelling and are looking for a new opportunity, we want to hear from you.
