Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Laundry Supervisor, responsibilities and essential job functions include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Sorting and organizing laundry items by type, color, and fabric
- Operating commercial laundry equipment, such as washing machines, dryers, and ironing machines
- Ensuring that all laundry items are properly cleaned, dried, and pressed before being returned to guests or crew members
- Identifying and treating stains and other problem areas on clothing and linens
- Maintaining accurate records of laundry activities and inventory
- Ordering and maintaining an inventory of laundry supplies and equipment
- Coordinating with other departments, such as housekeeping, to ensure smooth operations

The Role
As a key member of our team the Laundry Attendant is responsible for collecting, sorting, washing, drying, folding, and distributing hotel linens, ensuring cleanliness and availability. They ensure that all linens meet quality standards before stocking supply areas and oversee the general cleanliness of the laundry area and equipment.
Your contributions to the team include:
- Manage the collection, sorting, washing, drying, folding, distribution, and stocking of hotel linens to maintain cleanliness and availability.
- Remove soiled linens from guestrooms or room attendant carts, separate items, and place them in the designated linen bins.
- Deliver and place empty linen bins in service areas and ensure prompt delivery of requested linens throughout the day.
- Ensure cleanliness of equipment and work areas and assist with linen inventory counts.
- Communicate effectively with the Housekeeping Supervisor regarding linen shortages on the floors.
- Perform minor sewing duties/repairs as required.
- Oversee inventory control of linens, cleaning supplies, and equipment.
- Check and maintain the chemical injection system, performing minor maintenance within the laundry area.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of chemicals, cleaning products, and correct handling procedures.
- Track and report required equipment maintenance promptly.
- Report any maintenance or health and safety issues promptly.
- Report equipment damage promptly to the Housekeeping Supervisor.
- Additional tasks and duties as assigned.
- Previous housekeeping experience is considered an asset.
