As a Lead Project Engineer here at Honeywell, you will coordinate and communicate with cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration and ensuring effective project coordination. Your monitoring of project progress and adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards will help maintain project efficiency and deliver high-quality results.
You will report directly to one of our Senior Engineering Managers and you'll work out of our Cambridge, ON location on a hybrid work schedule.
In this role, you will have an impact on the company's success by ensuring the successful execution and delivery of complex engineering projects, driving operational excellence, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
At Honeywell, our Project Engineers play a critical role in developing and supporting our products and ensuring they meet customer requirements.
**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Lead and manage complex engineering projects from initiation to completion
- Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders
- Develop and implement project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation
- Coordinate and communicate with cross-functional teams to ensure project success
- Monitor project progress and ensure adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards
- Identify and mitigate risks and issues that may impact project delivery
- Provide technical guidance and support to project team members
- Prepare and present project status reports to stakeholders
The Honeywell building is a controlled goods program environment. Candidates must be eligible for CGP and Reliability clearance.
**YOU MUST HAVE**
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as engineering, science, technology, mathematics
- 8+ years of experience in project engineering (or similar role) for programs/projects involving software & electronic products in the areas of optics, RF, and/or robotics
- Willingness to dig into the technical details, learn whatever is needed to be successful, and take ownership and demonstrate accountability for the programs/projects under your control
- Strong leadership and project management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Experience in risk management and problem-solving
- Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies

**What you'll bring to WSP:**

+ Experience directly dealing with clients coordinating meetings, creating project status reports and dealing with different groups, stakeholders and disciplines;

+ Proven independent project leader;

**What you can expect to do here:**
+ You will plan, schedule, and estimate design engineering effort on projects from the conception of project design to issue of all drawings and specifications for construction.
+ You will assist in the development of proposals.
+ You will prepare and/or review cost estimates, schedules, risk assessment, and elements of project design.
+ You will develop project strategy to ensure key issues are identified early and to ensure project goals of quality, schedule, and cost are achieved.
+ You will interpret project specifications and scope to all engineering disciplines.
+ You will review and approve all designs to ensure conformity with project specifications, project scope, company practices, and sound engineering practices.
+ You will provide coordination to discipline and support development of their deliverables.
+ You will prepare and update engineering control documents.
+ You will monitor design changes, contract extras, and support development of change orders.
+ You will be the main technical contact with the client.
+ You will make recommendations on highly technical and complex aspects of WSP projects.
+ You will complete feasibility studies and technical report writing.
